New Orleans to DC: Climb Aboard the Peace Train

As you may be aware, there’s a peace march in Washington, DC planned for September 24, 2005. We’ll write more on this in the months to come. Something interesting is in the works, however, for those who will be getting to DC from points south: a Peace Train.

Via links from our Progressive Louisiana page, we’ve learned that the Louisiana Activist Network is organizing a two-day ride on a Peace Train, a literal train, that will carry activists from New Orleans to DC, with opportunities to meet, celebrate, mourn and organize on the way. • We at the Louisiana Activist Network thank you for helping us to promote this action. Please mention it again when you are able. We hope to create the same magic with PEACE TRAIN we had with JAZZ FUNERAL FOR DEMOCRACY.

    Peace soon,

    Buddy Spell

  • Thanks for the post about the Peace Train. This may be a once in a lifetime experience. Lot’s of tiome to visit, netwrok, and build those stroing relationships the peace movement needs to stop the war machine of the neo-conazis.

WOW! This is so cool to see this information published here. I can’t wait to be on that train. This is going to be HUGE so if you live near the route, you don’t want to miss this. ALL ABOARD!!

  • HareTrinity

    Sounds pretty cool.

Remember to pack extra refreshments, tissues (they’re always useful on big trips), and some sort of travel game (a book would be good too but since you’re all going to the same stops might as well be a tad more social than normal).

  • To Whom it May Concern:

Don’t you just love starting letters like that?
    Okay, me neither.

I’m writing to start a dialogue regarding advertising between and your organization.

I’m sure you’ve heard of and visited at some point. If not, you should know we are one of the top three progressive/liberal news portals on the internet. We were the first news organization in the United States to cover the important Downing Street Memos. We cover news that the mainstream media won’t cover. Our readers are Washington insiders, left-leaning activists and those simply interested in being in-the-know.

We’re currently seeking to start a dialogue with like-minded clients to see what can be done to broaden the reach of all of our products, figure out ways to reach more Americans (open some ears and eyes in the process) and hopefully make a positive difference in the world.

Please contact me at if you’re interested in hearing about the opportunities we can offer your site and also if you’d like to inform us about projects/opportunities on your end.

Hope to talk to you soon,

    Chris Tackett
