Build Your Own Solar Panel on the Cheap

The Sietch shows how to build a high-functioning solar panel and heating system out of spare parts and junk for less than $5. I think you’d need to be a bit handy, but not too handy, to get the job done. A really interesting and very creative idea.

  • We had a swimming pool when I was younger. My Dad rigged up a system that pumped some water through a black hose onto the roof of the garage, wound around a bit and emptied back into the pool. The water coming out of it was quite warm especially on sunny days, but it didn’t run through very fast. Considering how much water was actually in the pool, it didn’t make much of a difference. But hey, he tried.
