Unity08 on Politics Now: Big Picture from another Angle

I’ve tried to articulate the big picture regarding Unity08 in a slightly different way in a guest post over at Politics Now. I’m not entirely happy with the way their blog engine has dropped some post links, but otherwise I’m happy at a welcome chance to spread the word. I think it may be my most compact telling of the affair so far.

Better, yes, more succinct, as is the Unity08 Watch page, and if you’re really patrioticker, your flag logo doesn’t need all 13 stripes, either, but the story still needs something and I’m not sure what it is. It’s almost as if you’ve been drawn too much into their arguments, so the memorable quotes are theirs, and not the counterargument. The devil’s in the details, of course, but I’m losing sight of the forest, if I can mix metaphors here. Remember the advice to the guy defending the slaves in the movie Amistad? You have to tell the story. If I’m trying to re-write something I let it marinate in the computer for a couple days while I think about something else, then go back and taste it to see what it needs. You’re a better writer than I am, so I don’t know what to suggest, except that as more details come to light the story will tell itself. At first I thought this was just a public relations firm without a client, so they invented one and started asking for donations with themselves on the invisible candidate’s payroll, but with all the high rollers contributing, now I’m starting to lean towards conspiracy theories.

Jim, have you heard about Freedom’s Answer?

  • Jim

Are you thinking about in that regard?

Freedom’s Answer in regard to No.

I was wondering if you are familiar with the organization “Freedom’s Answer.”
