2nd Quarter Nearly Done Before Unity08 Lawsuit Moves Forward

It will be halfway through the 2nd Quarter of 2007 before all briefs in Unity08’s lawsuit against the FEC are filed. That’s a lot of time for stalling without the disclosure of loans to Unity08 that the FEC requires.

Here are the relevant deadlines:

Joinder of parties; amended complaint February 21, 2007
All discovery closed March 15, 2007
Plaintiffs’ dispositive motion March 21, 2007
Defendant’s dispositive motion
and opposition April 11, 2007
Plaintiffs’ opposition and reply April 26, 2007
Defendant’s reply May 11, 2007

The Scheduling Order looks great…but where’s the Notice of Proof of Service listing all parties that have been served and notified?

  2. Jim says:

I’m not a lawyer, Diana, so you’ll have to tell me what that is, and why that’s important.

  3. Diana says:

I’m not a lawyer either but I didn’t see any document that certifies that the parties have received the Order. The attorney preparing the Scheduling Order should have a copy of it if one was prepared and sent

  4. Jim says:

Oh. That’s in there: there’s actually a series of documents, which you can find if you use the PACER system (8 cents a page, unfortunately. The details for access, including the case number, are here (look in the upper left corner).
