Fox Gimmick Casts A Shadow of Unity08

Jim has, for some months now, been doing important muckraking work on some nasty aspects of the Unity08 organization. It’s stuff that any reporter could have found out about with not too much trouble, but no mainstream reporter has bothered to look at. Unity08 gains power for its Washington D.C. insider operators by creating a false appearance of independence and the sheen of being on the outside, all the while playing shady games with the money it convinces people to fork over.

It seems that Rupert Murdoch, who owns the Fox News empire, has admired the slippery pseudo-grassroots work of Unity08, and so is creating his own shadowy version of the political gimmick in conjunction with reality show producer Mark Burnett.

The plan is that a TV show will be combined with a heavily-sponsored place on MySpace, operated by Fox and Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation, to create an electronically based system for selecting an independent candidate for President of the United States.

An independent presidential candidate selected by a system set up by the creator of Fox News? Who could fall for such an obvious line of bull?

The same credulous news organizations and uncritical citizens who jumped on the Unity08 bandwagon sight unseen – that’s who.

Looks like there is ONE reporter who has some doubts about Unity08 – http://www.theconservativevoice.com/article/24631.html.

Maybe Jim wants to send the journalist some of his findings so he can cover it?

Don’t forget about all the idiots like Harrold F. and Phil who just swallow the party line (that any thinking other than the Republican talking points is propaganda) and who probably voted for the Bush cabal. They support the war (but won’t go serve), the president (even though he’s taking away their rights) and the theocratic dictatorship we now have (maybe they’re on the payroll like so many other soul-less sell outs). To them and others like them there is no environment problem except Al Gore.

Except something is wrong that you can’t link to it diectly. you have to go to the home page:
    http://www.theconservativevoice.com/
then click on “unity is not a good idea”. Nice historical overview.
