How High Can You Get on Free Rice?

That sounds like an endorsement of a new kind of drug, but it isn’t.

Check this website out, and share your highest level.

So far, my highest level is 46 48. Man, they get tough.

The people who run the website give away 20 grains of rice per answer, which is a spoonful, but those answers pile up. The thought is that you’ll click through advertisements at the bottom, which you have no obligation to do.

Got up to 47 several times, but can’t stay there and can’t get past it.

  2. Iroquois says:

Oh, so you got to 48, did you. I always thought you had a bit of a competitive streak. But why is no one else posting any score?

The 47 level I think is hard because it doesn’t seem to have any words with those nice Latin and Greek roots, that you know if you ever studied Spanish or medical terminology.

Yeah, it quickly becomes etymological, with lots of guesswork based on the structure of the word.

‘Course I’m competitive. Can you get to 49?

  4. Iroquois says:

I’m sure we could both get to 50, given enough time. In fact, you probably have enough background in statistics to figure out exactly how many purely random guesses it would take to get to that point.

Maybe other people aren’t posting scores because they have a life.

I’m going to guess some scores though, based on the SWAG method.
~Peregrin=40 or 42 (but potentially capable of much more)
~jClifford=43 or 44 (no higher because his brain is filled with science, isn’t there some learning theory stuff about aptitudes?)
~Mother Davis=43 or 44 (the same because of the science angle)
~Ralph=45 (Ralph can attach meanings to patterns other people don’t see, but I’m guessing it’s more math-based and doesn’t project into vocabulary)
    ~Scott=45-47
