Classic Arlen Specter on Telecommunications Immunity

We’ve just seen classic Arlen Specter on display. The Republican Senator from Pennsylvania spent ten minutes going on about how immunity for telecommunications corporations that have broken federal law would be a disaster because it would invite the executive branch administration of George W. Bush to continue to choreograph flouting of the law without consequence. And then he concluded his speech by taking twenty second to conclude that he will actually vote for the bill that gives telecommunications corporations legal immunity. Classic.
