In October of 2005, Rabbi Rafael Cohen condemned Madonna for singing a song containing a reference to the name of 16th Century Kabbalah scholar Yitzhak Luria.
Rabbi Cohen proclaimed, “Jewish law forbids the use of the name of the holy rabbi for profit. Her act is just simply unacceptable and I can only sympathize for her because of the punishment that she is going to receive from the heavens.”
It’s been two years and six months now, and strangely Madonna seems to be not only not dead, but also not afflicted with sores, or pustules, or even acne as far as I can tell.
Care to restate that, Rabbi Cohen?
