Fashion for a Homeland Security State: The Mask
The public surveillance cameras with face recognition software are already in place. There’s talk of putting cameras to track your behavior inside your own home. What’s a citizen to do? I’ve already suggested the return to the era of wide-brimmed hats. If you’re in the mood to be a bit more defiant in the face of all this surveillance, how about wearing a mask? Nobody will know it’s you under there, so you don’t even have to be embarrassed about it.
The people at Make magazine have devised a template for you to print, cut and fold your very own Guy Fawkes mask. You could be anonymous by the afternoon.
