It’s a little tiny spark, and I have no idea whether it will catch and start a fire. But it is a spark nonetheless. A group called Columbus for Peace that has no apparent web presence has called for Ohioans to converge on the State Capitol Building at the corner of High Street and Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio at 10 AM on the morning of November 5, 2008, the day after Election Day. No matter who wins the presidency, the idea is to hold a rally demonstrating in advocacy of a policy of peace and support for the U.S. Constitution.
I can’t find any evidence of anyone anywhere else in the country organizing such a post-Election rally for peace and the constitution. It’s a very good idea, and if you don’t live in central Ohio I urge you to organize a rally in your neck of North America. All you need is a time, a place, and a photocopier.
If you are organizing a protest rally like the one in Columbus for November 5, 2008, please let me know and I’ll do my bit to publicize it here. We’ve got the google juice and we’re happy to lend it out for a good cause.
