Just weeks ago, financial company AIG got a huge financial bailout package from the federal government. The company got the kind of help that its selfish executives have opposed for ordinary working Americans. Now, to really run it in, AIG has come back to the government and declared that it screwed up again, squandered the last round of government assistance, and now needs more money.
The Bush Administration has agreed to their demands. The total government assistance to AIG now totals 150 billion dollars.
AIG needs the money, or the whole American economy will fall apart? How many times are we supposed to fall for that line? But, okay, fine – I’ll assent to the demand, on one condition: AIG, the American International Group can get the money it wants, so long as it changes the words that make up its acronym. AIG needs to be forced to change its name.
How about Arrogant Ignorant Greedheads? Or, how about renaming the company Apparently Investors Gullible? Maybe Again Idiots Give?
