When Valerie Paget and Tracie Jones heard that Proposition 8 had passed, compelling discrimination against people who want to get married, they didn’t just sign a petition. They didn’t just attend a rally for an hour or so.
Paget and Jones truly dedicated themselves to the cause of marriage equality, and set out on foot. They dedicated themselves to a protest march against the ban on same-sex marriage, walking all the way from Los Angeles to the California state Supreme Court in San Francisco. They’re scheduled to arrive there a week from now, on December 19.
There will be a rally there to meet them after their 450-mile hike. If you’re going to be in the area, please consider being part of the event.
