Anarchists for Accountability in Contracting

To follow up on Truman’s sad observation that Hawai’i for Democracy has been converted into a credit card advertisement, allow me to note a more quick and abrupt transformation. Comeout2009.org, the website that three short weeks ago was calling for an anarchist protest of the inauguration of Barack Obama with language like this:

Bankers and investors single-mindedly pursued the accumulation of short-term profits, ignoring the devastating effects their behavior could have on the general economy. Now we are preparing to handover the country’s welfare to another small group of wealthy of individuals: the Obama administration. They have consistently and without reservations supported President Bush’s bailout project, and plan to fork over more public money to the same institutions that started the crisis in the first place.

Come Out: An anarchist protest of the Presidential Inauguration…

Now has lost all its anarchist trappings and instead features a web form for accountability of hired contractors.
