Obama and Clinton, Release the Binyam Mohamed Torture Report

When I tell you that the United States may have tortured a person it has indefinitely detained at its Guantanamo Bay facility in Cuba, what do you think?

Does what you think change when I tell you that his detention is based on a confession he made in a Moroccan prison under torture and on claims made by another detainee under the application of waterboarding torture, when I tell you that all charges by the United States against this person indefinitely detained have been dropped, when I tell you that nonetheless he remains detained in Guantanamo on an indefinite basis?

Does what you think change when I tell you that he is a British citizen?

Does what you think change when I tell you that his last name is Mohamed?

Does what you think change when I tell you that there exists a report, drawn up during the Bush administration, describing the nature and extent of torture techniques applied to the detainee, Binyam Mohamed?

Does what you think change when I tell you that when the British government planned to release the information contained in the report about Mohamed’s torture, the Bush administration successfully used threats to prevent the Brits from doing so?

Does what you think change when I tell you that the United States State Department thanked the British government for complying under that threat?

Does what you think change when I tell you that thanks for keeping the torture report secret came from the State Department under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the administration of President Barack Obama?

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, release the Binyam Mohamed torture report. Redact mention of Soviet missiles and secret caves with yellowcake, if you must, but release the report.

[Tip of the pen to qs for bringing this to my attention.]

So much for “change we can believe in” . . .
Looks like more of the same from here.
