“Bonus tax not the answer, some say”, reads the headline from CNN this afternoon. The “bonus tax” refers to the effort by Congress to gain the return of huge amounts of Wall Street bailout money that was used to pay for multimillion dollar bonuses for executives at companies like AIG who led the global economic system into disaster.
Some say that the bonus tax is not the answer? Some say? Well, sure, some say that, but what does that prove? Some people will say just about anything.
Some say Iraq has vast arsenals of weapons of mass destruction!
Some say global warming caused by evil people rubbing their hands together and snickering!
Some say Mars is home to a demonic race of bat people!
Among the people who say that getting the AIG bonus money back is the wrong thing to do is Ron Paul, who also says that there is an international bureaucratic conspiracy to create a single nation, the North American Union, from Canada, the United States and Mexico – and to do it by building… wait for it… a road.
Some say that Ron Paul’s conspiracy theories make sense. Then again, some said that Ron Paul would win the White House in 2008.
