Peace and Liberty In the Road

My older son just got home from school about a half an hour ago. It’s a nice day outside, so almost right away he grabbed some big sidewalk chalk. I assumed he went into the back yard to draw on the stones there.

He didn’t.

I looked out the front door to see him bent down in the street outside, drawing in big blue strokes. I ordered him out of the street right away, of course.

Then I saw what he was doing. He had written, “We want peace and l”.

I looked both ways, and then ordered him back out into the street. His message: “We want peace and libberty.”

The spelling lesson will come tomorrow. He’s already got the essentials down.
