News Flash: 5 Arrested, 3 Jailed on Torture-Related Charges

You read that right. Over the weekend five people were arrested on charges related to the practice and coverup of U.S. government torture, and three of those people were jailed.

What did these five people do? They stood on the sidewalk outside the White House protesting the practice and coverup of torture by the U.S. government, and for that they were arrested on June 28. Three were sent to jail.

In the meantime, no one actually involved in the government conspiracy to commit torture has been jailed or even charged with a crime.

Now how’s that for “justice” in Amerikkka?

Its the same as when I was arrested for street preaching using a megaphone. Even when you ptotest you have to obey the law. I could preach all I wanted with the naked voice. I broke the law by using the megaphone and was arrested. I should have modified my approach to stay inside the law. I have learned. These people can protest all they want, they just have to remain moving. (At least thats my understanding) they st up camp which is now against the law in front of a federal building. Besides, it makes nop sense to protest someone brealing a law and getting away with it by breaking the law expecting to get away with it…

… unless you’re torturing people. Then, no matter what you do, no matter how clearly it violates federal law, the Geneva Conventions and the Constitution, we all have to “look forward” and not do anything about it.

But damn it, you stop moving on the sidewalk and it’s jail for you, Buster! I mean, crap, are we going to have standards or what? Those fucking stand-on-the-sidewalkers are gonna destroy this country!

I agree that the entire thing is ridiculous. I am just pointing out what is going on. I think when I got arrested it was ridiculous as well but thats neither her nor there. Of course on a side note this may help. Had these people not been arrested whould there protest have had any impact? Now that they have been arrested are they not being talked about around the country? maybe its agood thing in hidding…
