Sponsor my NO on 1 Walk on Route 1 for Maine Marriage Equality

Because I believe in equal protection under law, because I don’t like it when some people tell other people how to live their lives, and because I wouldn’t want government to try and ban MY marriage, I’ll be voting NO on Ballot Question 1 this November in Maine. Voting NO on 1 will keep same-sex marriage legal for all who want it in Maine.

But just Voting NO on 1 isn’t enough, because anti-equality forces are sending gobs of money into the state to try and convince Mainers that equality is overrated. Will they succeed? I don’t know, but they have a lot of money on their side, and for better or worse, money can accomplish a lot.

Vote NO on 1 Walk on Route 1 sponsorship update imageI want to help the NO on 1 / Protect Maine Equality Campaign in two ways, and I need your help. The first way is financial, and the second way is personal. With a $10 donation to NO on 1 / Protect Maine Equality, you’ll have the peace of mind knowing that you’ve helped promote marriage equality for everyone in the Pine Tree State.

But why stop there? Let’s make it personal. For every $10 you donate through this page, I pledge to walk 1 mile on Route 1 carrying a big sign reading “I’m Voting NO on 1: Ask Me Why!” sign, striking up as many conversations as I can along the way and carrying literature for people who want to learn a little bit more about the issues at stake. If you donate $100, I’ll walk 10 miles on Route 1. If you donate $500, I’ll walk 50 miles. If you donate $1,000? Well, I’ll need some new boots at the end, but it’ll be worth it. I’ll keep this image updated with your/my/our progress to let you know how far you and I are willing to go.

Click here to donate to NO on 1 / Protect Maine Equality and send me on my way. Thanks.

What happens after you get enough to cover the 527.19 miles on the road? Do you turn around and start going the other way? Just curious, although I disagree with you I think that this is a great idea and a great way to take action.

Well, I don’t know. That much walking won’t happen, I’m pretty sure, because I’m just not popular enough to get that many sponsors! But I expect I won’t walk all the miles in one day. You know: 10 miles this day, 5 miles the next. As long as I get it done before the election. Thanks for the note of support.

Be careful for what you wish.

Your logic would make polygamy legal under the equal protection act. If polygamy becomes legal, then the Muslim population will explode since their religion permits a man to have many wives. The demographics of our Country will change drastically, and the NWO under Islamic law will not tolerate homosexuality.

Essentially, you have signed their death warrants by legalizing gay marriage. This scenario is not far fetched, as crazy as it seems. Remember the holocaust. Or are you a nonbeliever?

Sometimes, bad outcomes are the result of good intentions.

Why of course I do. No tsunamis in your future. Global warming is a hoax designed by the green capitalist pigs to make money! Down with green capitalism. Its a hoax.

Another prediction, your naivete of the world will cause you pain.
