Limerick Open Thread (Kill Prop 8 Edition)

In November of 2010
California will try it again
With Repeal of Prop 8
For the Golden Gate State
Barbie could marry Midge and Not Ken

Tell me all about news of the day
It’s your turn, so go on, have your say
Share what’s better and worse
Just do it in verse
In a limericky sort of way

  1. Jacob says:

    Barbie marries Ken
    Is right according to God
    Other ways are wrong

    1. God says:

      Jacob is wrong once again
about who should we let marry Ken.
      I’m here now to say,
      I don’t mind if you’re gay,
I’m all for it if men marry men.

      1. Jacob says:

        If only it were easy
To makeup a rhyme that is not cheesy
That would point out to men
        The trouble with there sin
And that Hell will not be easy

        1. God says:

Once again we see Jacob denies me,
though my direct words here supersize me.
          He says he follows God,
          but can only applaud
the zealots who don’t recognize me.

  2. hendrix says:

    To marry who you love
    needs no sanction from above.
Just a note from the state,
    that loves to legislate,
and equal rights would be enough.

    1. God says:

You are right Hendrix, though I conclude,
that to pass a new law requires crude
      ideology that
      churches have down as pat.
If I command it, they’ll stop being prude.

      -God

      1. hendrix says:

        So fix it up, Yahweh.
Remake the work the right way.
        Don’t include religion,
        not even a smidgen.
Then we’ll have less reasons to fight, yay!

        1. God says:

          Hendrix is right. I decree:
          Abandon your churches to me.
          I’ll let them all rot
          and fall down a lot
which should improve their low quality.

          – God
