Oil Spill Update
A quick update on earlier stories about oil spills taking place around the world:
– The oil slick from the Timor Sea spill, which continues to expand a month and a half after it began, is now 80 kilometers from Indonesian land, but already some Indonesians are reporting “skin irritation and nausea” after eating fish that were caught near the slick.
– The Houston Channel has finally re-opened after an oil spill there.
– Communities along Florida’s coastline are organizing in opposition to attempts to introduce offshore oil drilling there.
