Which District Is At The Forefront Of US Space Efforts?

Pop political quiz for aspiring astronauts: A member of Congress recently commented that the award of a government contract to a Lockheed Martin factory in her/his district proved that this congressional district, and the state in which it is found “are in the forefront of the nation’s space efforts”.

If that state and that congressional district are truly at the forefront of space efforts in the United States of America, then it ought to be easy for people to identify the state and congressional district. So, can any of you, without using a search engine to look for the phrase “are in the forefront of the nation’s space efforts”, identify the state and the congressional district, and the member of Congress who was talking about them?

Well they did have that blackbird spy plane that could fly in outspace during the Vietnam era.

Who is they – which district, which state?

    1. qs says:

idk that was a long time ago.

SR-71A sets speed and altitude records (Altitude in Horizontal Flight: 85,068.997 ft (25,929.030 m) and Speed Over a Straight Course: 2,193.167 mph).

It’s a neat plane. Not very useful but pretty interesting.

    2. qs says:

The SR-71 broke the world record for its class: an absolute speed record of 1,905.81 knots (2,193.17 mph; 3,529.56 km/h.)

      That thing could outrun missiles.

    3. qs says:

That plane goes Mach 3.5 and has the record.

But there is talk of a secret Lockheed plane called the SR-91 that goes Mach 5. It actually looks alike a triangle supposedly so people think it’s a ufo when they see it.

well? where does lockheed build it’s spaceships?
if it isn’t in detroit, maybe, they should move it there.
i hear it’s getting pretty tough for auoto workers.
these quizs are tough for me, i’m not sure i know what a search engine is.

  4. Jon says:

    who gives a fuck?

    1. F.G. Fitzer says:

Well, that member of Congress sure does. So do the people at Lockheed Martin, who have gotten a heck of a lot of government money for that contract.

Your lack of curiosity reflects poorly on you, Jon. Don’t you think citizens ought to be curious, or as you say in your very churchy language, “give a fuck”, about the way that politicians in power direct the public money?
