Sometimes it’s important to follow up on past news items, and sometimes it’s just fun. You decide which applies here. Back in June of 2006, police officials across Colorado reported that a concern that on June 6, a Satanic crime wave might crash across the state. Why? Well, just look at the date — 6/6/2006 — and take out the slashes and the zeros and the two, then misread the Bible and voila! The Mark of the Beast!
Lt. Rafael Cintron of the Colorado Springs Police Department noted at the time that his intelligence unit was on the case:
The bottom line is that our intelligence unit is familiar with 666 and its significance, but we don’t have any information about anything taking place in Colorado Springs. However, we are certainly keeping our feelers out to see if anything is happening.
Felony theft: “Officer Gavin Montoya was sent to a felony theft in-progress at Dillard’s in Chapel Hills Mall. A female suspect was in custody with security personnel while the male suspect ran to the west. Officer Montoya noticed another CFS with the same male suspect description at the Super 8 Motel, 8135 N. Academy Boulevard.”
Bank robbery: “an unknown White male entered the Key Bank located at 5725 North Academy Boulevard and contacted the victim teller. The male demanded money and then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of US Currency. The suspect is described as a White male, in his later 50’s to early 60’s, 5-09, with a medium to heavy build and graying hair, beard and mustache.”
That bank robbery turned out not to be a special Satanic occurrence dedicated to June 6, 2006. It was part of a string of bank robberies carried out by Sammy French from January to July, 2006 in various places across Colorado.
That leaves the Dillard’s robbery at the mall. Diabolical? We report — you decide!
