Government Transparency: A Question And An Answer

A pair of Senate hearings held at the same time this afternoon make an especially interesting pair.

At 2:30, the Subcommittee on Federal Financial Management, Government Information, Federal Services, and International Security of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee had a hearing “to examine making the government more transparent and accountable”.

Also at 2:30 pm the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence held a hearing “to consider certain intelligence matters”. The meeting was closed to the public.

I would have loved to see the people at these two committee meetings get together and have a shared meeting, and see how they could come to a shared conclusion to their various problems.

At this point it seems the government, in the interests of the Wall Street and Fed looters of our future, have decided to forego any semblance of their core principles of “by the people for the people.”
