Ending Spending Mystery Money Tour Begins

The campaign finance money laundering operation that calls itself the Ending Spending Fund is based in Florida, but none of the candidates that it is spending money to oppose with nasty campaign commercials represent any part of Florida at all. The organization’s targets are in Idaho, Nevada, South Carolina and Texas.

What gives? More importantly, who gives?

Just one and a half weeks ago, the Ending Spending Fund reported to the FEC for the final time before Election, and said that, gosh, it had never received any funds from anyone at all. It had zero dollars and zero cents, it said.

But now, over the last week, the Ending Spending Fund has spent almost one million dollars in attack ads against Democrats. All that money was donated to Ending Spending within the last nine days, so as to evade campaign finance disclosure limits.

The Ending Spending Action PAC dropped a huge load of money into the 2014 congressional elections yesterday, including the purchase of over $179,000 for just one media buy for just one candidate.

If they really want to end spending, why doesn’t this PAC start with its own spending binges?
