Three and a half years ago, I contacted Democratic Underground to ask them why, given their stance at the time against sweatshop production in factories, they were selling shirts many of which were likely made in sweatshops.
Three and a half years later, I haven’t heard a word back from Democratic Underground on this.
Three and a half years later, they’re still selling the ethically dubious shirts — at $6-$8 markups.
The only good thing you can say about Democratic Underground is that they’ve at least gotten consistent with their stance — since I first wrote them, their coverage of sweatshop issues has just about disappeared.
Lame is too weak a word for them. This is pathetic.
