Values Voter General Accuses Obama Of Using Health Care To Form Marxist Brownshirts
Long, long ago now, back early days of the Bush presidency, we noted the ramblings of an American military leader, General William G. Boykin. These days, Boykin is no longer a general in the U.S. military, and he likes to be called “Jerry”, but he’s still around.
In the early days of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, General Boykin spoke in public, wearing his military uniform, asserting that the wars George W. Bush had begun were religious crusades against Satanic Islam. “The enemy that has come against our nation is a spiritual enemy. His name is Satan. And if you do not believe that Satan is real, you are ignoring the same Bible that tells you about God,” Boykin said.
Boykin now makes his living as a speaker to extremist right wing groups. Among those organizations is the Values Voters Summit, a gathering that this year will include every politician who has been identified as a prospective Republican presidential candidate.
What will Boykin say during his speech at the Value Voters Summit? Perhaps Boykin will speak on one of the issues that has been a topic of his talks in the past: His belief that President Barack Obama is preparing a Marxist takeover of the United States using a secret police force that’s been set up through health care reform. Boykin says, in a video brought to our attention by People For The American Way, that Obama has been planning this Marxist revolution in the United States for years, well before he became President.
“I’ve studied Marxist insurgency. It was part of my training, and the things that I know have been done in every Marxist insurgency are being done in America today. The final thing, actually, has been establish a constabulary force, a force that can control the population.
You say, ‘Well, we don’t have that.’ Well, let me remind you that prior to the election, the President stood up and said that if elected he would have a national civilian security force that would be as large as and as well equipped as the United States military. For what?
Remember, Hitler had the Brownshirts, and in the Night of the Long Knives, even Hitler got scared of the Brownshirts and killed thousands of them. So, well, you say are there are signs that that’s actually happened. The truth is, yes.
If you read the health care legislation, which, by the way, no in Washington has read, but if you read the health care legislation, it’s actually in the health care legislation. There are paragraphs in the health care legislation that talk about the commissioning of officers in time of a national crisis to work directly for the President. It’s laying the groundwork for a constabulary force that will control the population in America.”
Right wing conspiracy theorists have come up with a name for the secret health care reform Brownshirts that President Obama is supposed to have created: The Healthstapo.
What is these Healthstapo? Is it true that they’re a Marxist secret police, ready to take over the United States by controlling the American population with their Communist powers granted by health care reform?
The secret constabulary that General Boykin and his followers believe are preparing to control the American population through terrifying Brownshirt-style violence and intimidation actually isn’t secret at all. It’s the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, which was formally established through congressional legislation in 1889, though it existed in some form for years before that. Members of this corps, including the Surgeon General, often wear military uniforms.
There are now somewhere between 6,500 and 7,000 commissioned officers in the USPHSCC. These officers do indeed have very specialized skills and powers… skills like taking blood pressure medications, and powers like the ability to prescribe medication. The commissioned officers of the USPHSCC include medical doctors, nurses, speech therapists, psychologists, dentists, dieticians, and even… [shudder]… veterinarians. At their disposal is a kit of government-provided powers, such as 30 days annual vacation, a retirement plan, life insurance, and shopping privileges at military base grocery stores!
With this kit of nefarious powers… well, frankly, I don’t see how anyone in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps could use these powers to intimidate the population of the USA into submission. General Boykin and the organizers of the Value Voters Summit, on the other hand, seem to believe that the face of the government-employed dietician is the face of doom.
