FOX News: France is Brave and Right to Ban people from choosing their own clothes

And I remember when they used to mock France. This item comes from the network that holds a daily show called “Freedom Watch,” on April 13 2011:

France is brave and right to ban the burqa. There is no reason for a modern Western country to honor what is, essentially, a political statement and an ethnic and misogynistic custom.

There may be no reason for France to honor the burqa, but there is a wide stretch of territory between a state honoring a piece of clothing (like Maine and Pennsylvania honor the whoopie pie) and allowing people to choose their own clothes. Banning “what is, essentially, a political statement” may suit FOX News’ moral values, but it doesn’t sit well with me.
