After “Invisible Judgment Day,” Harold Camping Predicts World’s End October 21

On May 21, 2011, the worldwide earthquake and mass disinterment of corpses predicted by Christian leader Harold Camping failed to materialize. No worries for Camping and the nationwide proselytizing organization he leads: Camping has simply replaced his old website with a new version, containing no reference to the non-apocalypse May 21. Whee! Down the memory hole we slide.

The sickly sweet call of that old demon prophecy must be awfully hard for Harold Camping to ignore, however. He felt the Call of the cameras shortly after the non-Rapture of May 21, and as the cameras rolled he put to voice the new ways in which God had opened his eyes. You see, Camping insisted, the whole thing was an “Invisible Judgment Day”:

On May 21 2011 we didn’t feel any difference, we didn’t see any difference in the world, but we know from the Bible that God brought Judgment Day to bear on the whole world. The whole world is under Judgment Day, and this is uh, it will continue right up until Oct. 21, 2011, and at that time the whole world will be destroyed. God has now opened our eyes yet to the fact that May 21 was a spiritual coming, whereas we had thought it was a physical coming. But He has come. He has come in a sense that He now has the world under judgment….

It wont be spiritual on October 21st. The world is going to be destroyed altogether, but it will be very quick.

As long as the destruction of the world is invisible too, I guess I’m cool with that. But if Harold Camping is still visible on October 22, will that mean he isn’t really there?

Camping’s mistake is no suprise. Here is a link to an audio from a spiritual group which is getting a lot of attention right now. They explain how Christianity follows a false image of Jesus and is the false religion Jesus warned about. This recording is apparently causing a lot of controversy!
