Americans Elect Shuts its “True Boss” out of Administration for 2012

Rhetoric:

#6 of Six Things to Know: The Delegates are the Boss

Here’s this week’s fact: “The Delegates — and the rest of the American people — are the true boss of Americans Elect.”…

Americans Elect is a platform. We have no candidate, issues, or ideology of our own. We are simply a vehicle for a presidential ticket that is more representative of, and more accountable to you, your friends, your family, and your neighbors. You are the drivers… you are the boss. It will be your voice and your choice that will determine the outcome.

Reality:

Americans Elect corporate bylaws, May 11 2011

All American citizens are eligible for membership in Americans Elect, while only American citizens who are registered voters may vote in Convention…. Provided, however, that such members shall not have rights of approval regarding corporate governance and administration of Americans Elect.

Quick question unrelated to the post: Why can’t I find links to the IrregularTimes Diaries and a Contact Us option?

    1. Jim Cook says:

On diaries, people stopped using them. We’ve given the diaries plenty of time to take off, and they just haven’t. Three weeks ago, some people started using the diary system login in a persistent denial of service attack to try and take down this website, the effects of which you may have noticed recently from time to time. As a result of these last two considerations, and because the front page is loaded with text and links, we took them down.

Well, that’s a cryin’ shame. It was about the only way I knew of to tip IrregularTimes off to some other things that needed covering.

Anyway, I’d gone and found it through my saved url’s and made a post. Hope it won’t be the last.

I’d be willing to hear a stirring defense of why the link should go back up, but people broadly don’t seem interested in it.
