  1. Peregrin Wood says:

    Jon Corzine? Jon Corzine?!?

Didn’t he just get into major trouble for corporate mismanagement at MF Global? He’s now being sued by MF Global for engaging in racketering because he took money from individual customers’ accounts to cover mistakes made by MF Global, and then lost the money.

What kind of absurd organization is Americans Elect, that its National Campus Director thinks Jon Corzine could make a good President of the United States?

  2. Tom says:

Hey Peregrin Wood that is exactly the kind of “leader” they want (the 1%) so the hollowing out can continue until we have a true banana republic! They’re stealing our pensions, cutting down our social security and their healthcare plans will continue to bankrupt most of us. Perfect!

  3. Jim Cook says:

38% of the people on this list are also members of the Alfalfa Club (read more about it here.)

  4. Richard Winger says:

Funny, I don’t see Buddy Roemer on the list.

    1. Jim Cook says:

I thought that was funny, too.

Follow-up: Americans Elect corporate leadership met with Buddy Roemer over the weekend in Los Angeles. Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune

  5. tiradefaction says:

Meg Whitman..? Does he mean that right wing cunt who ran for the governorship of my state, the same one who has a documented history of abuse of her former employees at Ebay? Oh wait, she supports abortion rights, she must then be “moderate”! (P.S. her campaign was arguably not even a serious run, but a possible vanity run)

Also, Anderson Cooper, really?! In what world does that emotionless robot constitute a good anything OTHER than an CNN anchor (a job fit for emotionless robots).

    1. Jim Cook says:

I agree with you substantively, but I don’t think her genitals are a part of the story.

  6. Bill says:

This list leaves me feeling less concerned than ever before about the possibility of Americans Elect functioning as a spoiler in the next election. I mean, this list is full of non-starters in so many ways. People who would never dream of running now and/or, if they did, couldn’t possibly command as much as 1% of the vote: Steve Balmer, Meg Whitman, Erskin Bowles, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Brokaw, John Roberts, Tim Pawlenty, Howard Schultz, Anderson Cooper, Bob Kerry, Jim Lehrer, Bill Gates, Robert Gates, John Huntsman, Jeffrey Immelt, . People who are already running under another party, thanks anyway: Mitt Romney, Barack Obama, Marco Rubio (VP). Dead people: Steve Jobs. Notorious criminals: Jon Corzine. Ass-hats: Mike Bloomberg, Chris Christie. Folks most voters have never heard of (too numerous to list here).

If this is the best list they can come up with, even just off the top of their heads, well… “Keep moving; nothing to see here!”

  7. Solomon Kleinsmith says:

For chrissake, Nick is a college kid, and this is a DRAWING. Get a life.

    1. Junga says:

The organization that he’s working for is trying to get other college students, not “kids”, to buy into a corporate-funded, top down political party. That’s serious stuff.

The Mona Lisa is a DRAWING!

Asking Americans Elect to have consistent rules, ethical standards, and an open process, and to reveal the specific sources of its money, is not too much to ask for. After all, Americans Elect is seeking to warp the United States to fit its corporate vision. Nick Troiano is a part of that effort, and is worthy of attention.

    2. Jim Cook says:

      1. Not a Christian. Try another appeal.
      2. According to his website, Nick Troiano is a college grad, class of 2011.
      3. Nick Troiano has held two leadership positions in Americans Elect. He was its Communications Manager and is now its National Campus Director.
      4. This is a public presentation for Americans Elect. Follow the link.

For a guy who seems so adamant that you “get a life” he seems to hover around quite frequently around your “Americans Elect” posts…
