Are you Moving your Money from Bank of America on 4/13?

http://wapo.st/HBnYt5“>Occupy activists are asking people who hold Bank of America accounts to shut them down and move their funds to a credit union or community bank on April 13.

Do you have a Bank of America account?  If you do, are you planning to move your money?

  • I’ve already got my money in a community credit union. There’s no place better for me to move it to.

I have been shifting away from BofA to a credit union (First South TN) over the last few months, and it seems to be only marginally better. Instead of great service, the benefit is shorter lines to wait through when resolving problems. Plus the indirect social benefit of not funding BofA lobbyists.

I kissed BofA goodbye months ago. Now earning almost 1.0% on my online savings/checking, instead of…something like 0.01% at BofA. Actually, I still keep the old BofA account open (with a nominal balance) both because it’s handy to have a bricks-and-mortar bank for emergency cash and because now I’m costing BofA money, not giving it to them.
