Americans Elect and No Labels Favorite David Walker Rushes to Praise Paul Ryan with $37 Trillion Worth of the Sillies

Back in 2011, David Walker was such a darling of the No Labels corporation that No Labels engineered a Draft David Walker for President internet poll campaign. In the spring of 2012, David Walker was such a darling of the Americans Elect corporation that Americans Elect wrote a glowing character recommendation of Walker when he started running for President. Americans Elect gave David Walker his own special candidate upgrades. The National Campus Director of Americans Elect even jumped ship to a Draft Walker for President campaign — and brought Americans Elect’s own list of its campus representatives along with him, instantly and mysteriously converting them into Walker for President campus representatives.

Whatever it was about David Walker that No Labels and Americans Elect loved so much is now leading David Walker to embrace Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan on national television. A transcript from MSNBC’s Morning Joe show on August 13 2012:

David Walker praising Paul Ryan on MSNBC August 13

Joe Scarborough: What do you think of the Ryan pick?

David Walker: I think it’s a great pick, because it will make sure that we’re talking about substance and solutions. It will make the role of government, fiscal responsibility, government tranformation a top issue.

It’s really key now who the moderators are on the debates. They’ve got to be someone who knows something about the issues, who can ask tough questions, to ask follow-up questions, know when they’re being b.s.ed, quite frankly.

If you look at the Medicare situation, look, Medicare’s underfunded 37 trillion dollars. You know, we’re going to have to get those costs under control!

There you have it. David Walker, the “centrist” favorite for president of the Americans Elect and No Labels corporations, ran to the airwaves to call for cuts to grandma’s health care and praise Paul Ryan to the skies… not coincidentally just as the No Labels corporation issued a release to simultaneously praise the “serious” choice of Medicare-cutter Paul Ryan and promote David Walker’s new speaking tour.

P.S. Ready for an odd little footnote? In December 2011, between the episodes in which David Walker was being hailed by No Labels and Americans Elect as the perfect presidential candidate — and while he was was on the leadership boards of both corporations — David Walker made a big fat campaign contribution to the Mitt Romney for President campaign.

P.P.S. Yes, you read that quote right. David Walker just told the nation that “Medicare’s underfunded 37 trillion dollars.” That’s got to be difficult, considering that the entire spending by the federal government and its beneficiaries on Medicare in 2012 was 563 billion dollars. Heck, the size of the entire federal budget in 2012 was 3.8 trillion dollars. So how could Medicare possibly be “underfunded 37 trillion dollars”? I’ll give you a hint: it’s in the same way that I can tell you that I “owe the grocery story $50 million dollars for gumballs [that I plan to buy over the next two hundred thousand years]!”

P.P.P.S. Why is David Walker making his wild “37 trillion claims” and backing the likes of Paul Ryan? I’m sure it’s because he’s got these great ideas in his head and has nothing to do with the fact that he and his “independent” “Comeback America Initiative” are fully funded by the billionaire Medicare and Social Security privatizing fanatic Peter G. Peterson. Sure I’m sure.

P.P.P.P.S. Who funds the Americans Elect corporation and the No Labels corporation that sing the praises of David Walker so? Oh, they’re not telling.

There comes a point in time where people need to see “the reality” that is being shown in front of their faces. This is no mystery. All the things Walker has been touting fall in line with Ryan’s fiscal plans. Even the Republican party has had issue with Ryan because he does want to cut out all the tax deductions that are being abused by the wealthy and corporations. Walker probably supports that plan, and not the mess that it may become if Romney and the republicans want to mess with it. I do have a problem with that.

Walker has said MANY times in his presentation that our problem is 3 parts spending and 1 part revenue. Some of you just live in Disneyland utopia even when the facts and figures are staring you in the face.

Watch his full presentation before opening your mouth about partisan bullcrap.

This is from 2008. Walker and Ryan.
