The Superbowl Pandering Act of 2013

Yesterday, instead of working to confront the many serious problems our nation faces, senators Rob Portman, Joe Manchin, Marco Rubio, Jerry Moran, Bob Corker, Lamar Alexander and John Isakson introduced legislation that would compel the U.S. government to make NFL nickels:

S. 203. A bill to require the Secretary of the Treasury to mint coins in recognition and celebration of the Pro Football Hall of Fame

Why would any U.S. senator propose a special federal government coin to celebrate a for-profit private business network of professional football teams and their franchises?

Of course – this weekend is the Superbowl.

Senator Moran (R-KS)….that’s my state. Sheesh.

I think both parties need to do less post office and mint bills and more budget and real-stuff bills.

    Just my $0.02
