Another Oil Spill In the Gulf Of Mexico

louisiana pollutionThey’ve closed the oyster beds in coastal Louisiana again. Once again, the cause is an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Companies that drill for oil routinely leave their old oil wells in place, putting a cap on the top and then walking away. One of these inactive well heads started spewing oil into Lake Grand Ecaille Bay yesterday, after it was struck by a boat.

Barack Obama’s energy plan has opened even more of the Gulf of Mexico to offshore drilling, even though Congress hasn’t passed a single bill to make offshore drilling safer since the Deepwater Horizon disaster.

Yeah, big surprise there, eh GM? Even the last BP well disaster isn’t completely fixed! Nothing to see here, keep moving people (especially since no one is going to do anything about any of it).

At least BP has completely cleaned up the spill. They are a good company, and they love America, too. I saw a TV ad that said so.
