American Military Is Spying On Our Video Game Characters

Back in June of this year, when the spying of the U.S. military’s National Security Agency was first revealed, apologists said it was no big deal because, according to them, only telephone metadata was being collected. To show how far from the truth that excuse is, Edward Snowden has leaked documents proving that the NSA collaborated with the CIA to spy on people’s World of Warcraft characters. Second Life and Xbox Live are also specifically mentioned in the documents, but there’s no reason to believe that these were the only online gaming systems that were targets of the American military spy agency.

Americans, will this be your limit, when even your night elf can’t go on quests in privacy from Big Brother? Who can seriously excuse such a flamboyant violation of our Fourth Amendment rights?
