Semalt. Because It’s Profitable To Be Boring

Theory: SEO is our generation’s K-Tel Records.

This afternoon, I ran across an online business called Semalt. It’s got a web analytics tool that harnesses the power of the idea that being online is now a real drag. “Website is no longer fun!” – this is really what Semalt tells its potential customers – on their very first page.

semalt boring

Doesn’t that make you want to buy? It’s kind of a self-fulfilling observation. The Internet stops being fun when people spend all their time trying to implement gimmicks to enhance SEO.
