Ben Carson Presidential Campaign Limps Behind Even Mitt Romney’s
Earlier this autumn, Ben Carson tried to buy enthusiasm for the idea of his coming presidential campaign by paying for a documentary about what a great guy he is to be filmed and televised nationwide. Did this strategy work?
Ben Carson for President enthusiasts say it did, but reality says something a little different.
A Quinnipiac poll shows that Ben Carson has the support of only 8 percent of registered Republicans. Fewer than one in ten Republicans say they would choose Ben Carson for President – that’s not even factoring in Democrats and political independents.
As if that news isn’t bad enough for the tiny cadre of Ben Carson for President diehards, there’s the competition to consider. Ben Carson couldn’t even come close in the poll to matching the support for Mitt Romney. Romney lost big in the 2012 presidential election, and Ben Carson got 11 percent less support even than him.
Losing to a proven loser, will the Ben Carson for President campaign fall apart even before it begins?
Side note: Unlike Ben Carson, Hillary Clinton‘s looking strong in the polls. The same Quinnipiac poll shows that, if the election were held today, Clinton would win the popular vote over every single Republican contender she was compared with.
