Has Barack Obama Failed to Speak Out on Murdered Cops?

The viral image of outrage of the moment:

Outrage Image: Obama Speaking on Eric Garner, Obama Speaking on Michael Brown, Obama Speaking on Trayvon Martin, Obama Speaking on Murdered Cops (an empty podium)

Is the image accurate?

Ten seconds — literally ten seconds — on a search engine yields headlines to directly to the contrary:

President Obama: Violence Against Police Is Completely Unacceptable, September 1 2015

“I also promised that I would continue to highlight the uncommon bravery that police officers show in our communities every single day,” Obama said in the statement. “They put their lives on the line for our safety. Targeting police officers is completely unacceptable — an affront to civilized society.”

Police Officer Memorial Day Commemorated, May 15 2015

“Each May, our Nation salutes the American women and men who put their lives on the line every day to maintain public safety and hold accountable those who break the law. On Peace Officers Memorial Day and during Police Week, we recognize all those who have dedicated their lives to this vital task. With heavy hearts, we mourn the heroes taken from us only because they chose to serve, and we rededicate ourselves to carrying forward their noble legacy.

“Our law enforcement officers have extraordinarily tough jobs. They regularly work in dangerous environments and in difficult, high-tension situations. And they often face challenges deeply rooted in systemic problems and broader social issues. These professionals serve to protect their communities and strengthen their Nation, and they deserve to go home safely to their loved ones at the end of each shift. As President, I am committed to making sure America’s dedicated police officers receive the support and recognition they have earned, and to doing all I can to protect those who protect us.”

Obama Rejects New York Cop Killings, December 21 2014

“I unconditionally condemn today’s murder of two police officers in New York City. Two brave men won’t be going home to their loved ones tonight, and for that, there is no justification,” said Obama’s statement.

There’s more, but I don’t need to show you more to demonstrate that this outrage image has no basis in fact.

Don’t confuse Konservative wingnuts with the facts!

He did not send anyone from the Justice Department in any case.

“….basis in fact.” Obama has “acted stupidly” from the Gates to the Brown incidents by getting up on his bully pulpit and sympathetically siding with his friends and criminals before all the facts are known. Your examples are not enough, Obama should be doing more to quench the flames and tempers in the black community that he and his Justice Department have helped to ignite. The meme wouldn’t need apologists to dispel it if the perception that Obama sides with his friends and criminals over cops didn’t exist. I never doubted that Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II sided with cops over criminals, this just isn’t the case with Obama and anyone who doesn’t sense the same is either not paying attention, a fool or a sycophantic supporter of the false meme that was Obama’s campaign promise of Hope & Change.

Translation: It doesn’t matter that it isn’t true. If you point out the truth, you’re an apologist. I never believed things that weren’t true about the white guys. Obama should fix that right away.

I’ve never seen a sitting U.S. President take sides with a criminal (Michael Brown) above a law enforcement officer (Darren Wilson)and especially not before all that facts in the case are know, Obama has done this repeatedly. Obama and his former AG Holder play(ed)lip service concern for the well being of cops, when I see Obama make a prime time national address in support of law enforcement officers from the White House or police HQ in Chicago, NYC, St. Louis or Dallas then I’ll believe he has their backs. So far, his page B3 gestures in support of cops has done little to stop the assassinations of our law enforcement officers, he could easily do more, in my opinion, but he hasn’t.
