Never Forget What Happened On September 11
We should all remember what happened on September 11.
On September 11, 1906, Mohandas K. Gandhi organized a rally at the Empire Theatre in Johannesburg, South Africa. The rally was the beginning of an 8 year long protest that came to be called the Satyagraha Passive Resistance Campaign. The campaign opposed discriminatory practices according to ethnicity by the government in South Africa.
It was the beginning of Gandhi’s use of large scale tactics of nonviolent protest, which eventually led to the British Empire’s decision to allow independence for India.
