Ted Cruz Goes Nazi With Call For Muslim Ghettoes In The USA Because Of… Belgium

There’s been a lot of talk over the last six months about how similar Donald Trump and Adolf Hitler seem to be. It looks as if Republican senator and presidential candidate Ted Cruz has been wanting some of that neoNazi publicity, though, if his statement about a terrorist attack in Belgium is any indication.

Here’s what Cruz had to say about the violence in Belgium:

“Our European allies are now seeing what comes of a toxic mix of migrants who have been infiltrated by terrorists and isolated, radical Muslim neighborhoods. We will do what we can to help them fight this scourge, and redouble our efforts to make sure it does not happen here. We need to immediately halt the flow of refugees from countries with a significant al Qaida or ISIS presence. We need to empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized. We need to secure the southern border to prevent terrorist infiltration. And we need to execute a coherent campaign to utterly destroy ISIS. The days of the United States voluntarily surrendering to the enemy to show how progressive and enlightened we can be are at an end. Our country is at stake.”

There’s a whole lot that doesn’t make sense in this statement, with furious leaps of logic such as using a terrorist attack by people who legally entered Belgium as an excuse to seal off the southern border of the United States of America thousands and thousands of miles away, even though there isn’t a single known case of any terrorist attack ever being conducted by any person who crossed into the United States from Mexico illegally. Given that there is no terrorist infiltration from Mexico into the United States, this Cruz rant just doesn’t make any sense.

What seems to have happened is that Ted Cruz has grasped that it doesn’t matter if his tirade makes no sense. What matters is that he makes a tirade. Cruz senses that now is the time for anger, and the time for vulnerable minorities within the United States to suffer… because Belgium… because making minorities in the United States suffer makes right wing voters feel secure and happy.

What Ted Cruz proposed today is nothing short of turning Muslim communities in the United States into persecuted ghettoes. He wants the police to target Muslim Americans for investigation and restriction even though there is absolutely zero indication that American Muslims had anything at all to do with the attacks this morning in Belgium. All Cruz sees is that Republican voters want Muslims to be separated out for special suffering, and if that makes his constituency happy, Cruz is all too happy to do it.

muslim ghettoes for america ted cruzIt’s an unconstitutional thing to do, to use the power of the federal government to target entire communities of people for persecution by police on the basis of nothing more than their religious identity, but Ted Cruz doesn’t care if he tears the First Amendment to shreds. Cruz will happily trash the Bill of Rights in order to satisfy American rage…

… not that Americans are suffering from terrorist attacks by Muslims.

There hasn’t been a single fatal Muslim terrorist attack in the United States this year.

Ted Cruz knows that, thanks to MSNBC and CNN and FOX, Belgium today feels as close as Peoria, Illinois to Americans today. He doesn’t care about maintaining American democracy, because he knows that tube-tied Americans feel as if the entire world is on the verge of breaking through their front doors, and a security state is the only cure..

All Ted Cruz wants is power for himself, so he’s happy to join Donald Trump’s efforts to whip up extremist right wing zealots into a hateful stampede to crush the civil liberties of American citizens. Cruz proved today that, like Donald Trump, he will eagerly convert the United States of America into a hotbed of violent nationalism, in the tradition of Adolf Hitler…

…because Belgium.

Ted Cruz doesn’t even need an excuse as flimsy as the Reichstag fire.

All he needs is one bad day in Belgium, and Ted Cruz throws Lady Liberty under the bus.

Progress and enlightenment must be at an end in the United States, says Ted Cruz…

…because Belgium.

Your article is utter nonsense. The policies of Franklin Roosevelt, Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders are much closer to NAZI (national socialism) policies than Ted Cruz. Cruz is substantially of limited government. Roosevelt, Sanders, and Clinton always pushed for unlimited government, just like the Nazis, Fascists, and Communists.

    1. J Clifford says:

Al, do you support freedom of religion in the United States or do you support Ted Cruz?

Do you support the Fourth Amendment’s protections from unreasonable search and seizure or do you support Ted Cruz?

Do you support the Fourteenth Amendment’s guarantee of equal protection under the law or do you support Ted Cruz’s plan for Muslim ghettoes?

Which side are you on, Al?

      1. Jon sanders says:

Let’s see if Al will make the effort to counter your points item by item. That would make a lot more sense than simply issuing generalizations about limited vs unlimited government. In becoming a periodical reader of these blogs, I’ve noticed that most counter replies seem to lean heavily toward repeating the talking points of the hard right rather that specifically addressing the points brought up in many of these posts. More often than not in a vitriolic manner.

Ted Cruz has gone Nazi, but not gone Hitler. He’s more like a simpering toady henchman, eagerly imitating the cruelties of the more dominant Nazis around him.

What part of “no law abridging freedom of religion” does Cruz not understand?

Does he think that police in the United States should start “patrol and secure” persecution of Christians in the USA because the Christian Lord’s Resistance Army has waged a terror campaign in central Africa? That makes as much sense as persecuting American Muslims because of what three Muslims did in Belgium.

But no, Cruz would never pick on Christians, because he is one, and because Christians aren’t an easy to scapegoat minority. Ted Cruz only has the balls to pick on marginal groups that can’t fight back.

Speaking of fascists, check out who got caught masturbating in public:

Robert Milnes denies this was him but I’ve met him and I’m pretty sure this is him.

  4. Korky Day says:

J Clifford, as much as I hate to defend Ted Cruz, you are exaggerating his words. He never said ‘ghetto’. He didn’t mention any travel restrictions. It’s the job of government to ‘patrol and secure’ EVERY neighbourhood.

Cruz: ‘We need to immediately halt the flow of refugees from countries with a significant al Qaida or ISIS presence.’ Well, that would include the persecuted Christian minorities. So Cruz should include a ‘temporary’ clause, at least, though then he would sound too much like the more reasonable Donald Trump.

Ted’s phrase ‘before they become radicalized’ shows how stupid he is. It’s not a lack of police presence that radicalizes anyone.

Ted is correct, though, to suggest that the Mexican border could be used to infiltrate the USA.

    1. J Clifford says:

Korky, you don’t need to say the word “ghetto” to propose setting up a ghetto. You can call it a “comfort neighborhood” or a “security zone” or a “fluffy bunny”.

What Cruz called for was the designation of Muslim neighborhoods as zones to be specially targeted by law enforcement, suffering under extra police patrols and security measures to control the people living there, as if they are criminals. If Cruz doesn’t use the word “ghetto”, does that make the policy any less unconstitutional and morally abhorrent?

Ted Cruz is NOT calling for the government to use police to target “EVERY” neighborhood – only Muslim ones.

As for the fact that “the Mexican border could be used to infiltrate the USA”, that isn’t very relevant. The relevant fact is that the border with Mexico is not being used to infiltrate the USA. What COULD happen isn’t an appropriate basis for draconian new policies that violate people’s constitutional rights.

People COULD use fake beards as disguises to infiltrate the USA. It’s not happening, but it could happen. Should we outlaw fake beards, just in case, Korky?
