Pro-Trump Christian Conspiracy Theories Go Hog Wild
Singer Pat Boone says that the existence of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is a sign that the Christian god has abandoned the United States of America. “God has lifted His hand of protection from the United States of America,” says Boone So now, according to Boone’s theology, the Christian god is omnipresent, but only outside the United States. Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine are both Christians, so apparently, the Christian god is upset that Christians would run for public office in the USA.
Pro-Trump preacher Pat Robertson has noted the recent trend of erratic behavior from Donald Trump, and has a religious explanation for it: The Devil made Trump do it. “The Devil will get you off on rabbit trails every chance you get,” Robertson advises Trump.
Perhaps it was one of those Devil’s rabbit trails that led preacher Gary Dull to pronounce that Donald Trump has to become the next President, because women can’t possibly be national leaders. Dull sermonized that, “it seems very clear in the scripture that a woman should not be in authority over men, which would limit a woman from being the president of the United States of America or even a queen of some other particular nation.” White supremacist Christian James Edwards echoed this argument, pointing out that “under God’s law, a woman should not even have dominion over her household.” Right. I mean, when has the world ever seen Christian queens? The states of Maryland and Virginia should be particularly receptive to this theocratic argument.
Although another preacher, Paula White has observed of Donald Trump that, “He doesn’t know our Christianese”, over on Reddit, Trump supporters are now calling the GOP presidential candidate “our God Emperor“.
Well, that settles the argument… on Reddit, at least.
