Irregular Times Diaries: Unfit DiscussionIn a time of the spring, old paths are obscured and new growth begins.
I just finished listening to a radio segment about Salvia Divinorum, an herb from the sage family that is legal to procure and that is apparently hallucinogenic in nature. I’ve never taken it, but am very curious.
Has anyone here taken Salvia Divinorum, or does anyone here know someone who has? I’d be really interested to hear about your experiences with the herb, and to read your recommendations regarding it.
Thanks.

There are plenty of herbs that can space you out - Clary Sage, for example, or nutmeg, though it will make you puke.
Why not exercise an expansive mind and have vision without drugs? BE the drugs instead of taking them, I say.

The following information from Jeanne Rose “Herbs & Things” (1972):
Pipiltzintzintli (Salvia divinorum). A very handsome plant belonging to the Mint family with a large square stalk and glossy green leaves. It is used by the Mazatec Indians (when the magic mushrooms are out of season) for telepathic and clairvoyant insights and fantastic illusions acccompanied by dancing colors and three-dimensional designs. R. Gordon Wasson ate sixty leaves; this seems to be about the right dose.” This is followed by the symbol for a botanical that is poisonous and/or hallucinagenic.
Also in the mint family with a square stem: Queen Anne’s Lace. According to some Wisconsin folklore, where the plant grows wild, a small portion of one leaf is enough to induce abortion, a slightly larger portion of leaf causes death. The custom related to me is the couple desiring abortion shares part of the leaf, eating it together, and also sharing the risk.
Clearly there is an advantage to reading about some things instead of experiencing them directly. Those who use drugs or alcohol to solve their problems find afterwards they still have the same problems.

Perhaps those who are using Salvia Divinorum are not using it to solve problems. Perhaps they are. Do you know, Alan? Do you know of anyone who has used the herb? Or have you yourself?

Sorry, I’m afraid I don’t run in that crowd. In fact I just ran a drug dealer out of the building–with some help from the other tenants who had as little appreciation as I did for the all night parties and constant visitors pounding on the door at all hours of the night and day. They have little reason to trust me, although I don’t really care what they do as long as they do it somewhere else.
As far as being legal, one news source reported salvia divinorum is for sale openly in this city, but a cursory search suggests it is not legal in the U.S.:
http://www.erowid.org/plants/salvia/salvia_law.shtml
Some first person reports with hype similar to LSD in the sixties:
http://leda.lycaeum.org/?ID=269
Why the sudden fascination? Don’t tell me you want to see God…
April 19th, 2006 at 8:37 am
I’m not fascinated. I’m curious.
And please read the article you cite on Erowid. Its first sentences read:
“Salvia divinorum is uncontrolled in the United States. This means all parts of the plant and its extracts are legal to cultivate, buy, possess, and distribute (sell, trade or give) without a license or prescription.”
I have read the websites, Alan. I can search google too. I’m interested in hearing from people who have actually ingested the herb, or from people who know someone who has. I’d like to hear those direct experiences out of curiosity.

Hi. I’ve tried salvia. I smoked it rather than ingested it by eating the leaves. It gave a short-lived but quite intense feeling of disorientation, giddiness, good humour, and a rather odd sensation of having a ‘hot head’.
I wouldn’t say it was an amazing experience but I presume that consuming it in other ways will stimulate a different response. I imagine that eating a large amount could be slightly hallucinatory but not on the level of LSD. I live in Britain where it is perfectly legal and to my knowledge it is completely legal in the states too. Hope this helps!

I tried it the other night. I tried the 60x and it was really crazy. The second time I did it I completely left this world. I laughed hysterically for a while, my friends said I wasn’t breathing, which scared them. Then I went into this
nightmare type of thing. I was in a tunnel for a long time and when I finally came back to reality it felt like it was
a flashback since I had been gone for so long. Even though in reality it was only a couple minutes. I wrote more about it on my blog. I think it’s amazing, although that was scary, I would defintily do it again.
April 24th, 2006 at 3:57 pm
I remember years ago being with a friend who quit breathing after smoking angel dust. He would stop breathing for about 15 seconds, then finally take a breath. I had seen people die, and yes it did scare me. The one thing I knew for sure was that I needed different friends and I never saw him again. I heard he died some ten years later at the age of 40 from an obscure lung disease.

tried salvia about a month ago. i’m 57 and suffer from chronic migraines, probably hereditary…mom had em. ex drummer from the sixties. did my share of drugs back then. fortunately i trade stocks from home office. have been given tons of different anti-convulsants, anti-depressants, imitrex, amerge, mri’s, cat-scans….the list goes on and on. no success. heard salvia divinorum helps with migraines. smoked some, two large tokes. walked to bedroom from living room to lay down. on the way became wobbly, sorta drunk like. while on my way to the bedroom remember one male voice on my right, saying “he won’t make it.” while on my left about two or three female voices saying..”yes he will.” in spanish. i’m mexican but don’t speak but understand spanish. felt very at ease. made it to the bed. sat on edge of bed looking at the wall in front of me. then…….a large funnel made of red vines with red leaves appeared. can’t remember if i walked thru it or it just transported me to a neighborhood i grew up in…i was about a year old then. heard kids playing. saw two walking across the street from me. don’t know how to express this, but felt as though i was really there, not dream like. i felt as though i was a regular kid watching this happen…not the real me i guess. started to come to. got up and wobbled into kitchen where wife was, on laptop. i remember having some giggles and explaining experiance. she’s never done drugs and probaly never will. i smoke some at bed time, about two or three times a week. well here goes…..i think the headaches are diminishing, in intensity and severity. they’re weather related, and for the past week…nuttin but rain. you know…april showers. there are concentrations of the main ingredient in salvia…3X, 5X, 10X, maybe more. a drop or two on leaves being smoked and grab an extra seat-belt. i smoke mine thru a regular pipe. bongs really intensify the effect. ok, nearing end of chapter 16. say what you want…it’s your prerogative. mexican indians have been using this for centuries. 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and even 80 year olds use salvia on a regular basis, medicinally and ritually and they still seem to be functioning rationally. one simple question before i end this. and PLEASE…read my lips. [ who ya gonna trust…..mother nature…OR….the fda? ] take care.
May 16th, 2006 at 11:53 am
Just to let everyone know… I think smoking this stuff really weakens your throats defenses, because I got a real bad virus after doing it twice. Its been over 3 weeks and I’m still not completely better. And if you are sick, such as a sore throat or coughing, I wouldn’t waste the Salvia by doing it. The effects are drastically reduced. So wait until you’re well. Just some advice !
May 16th, 2006 at 12:16 pm
Comrades, comrades! Mind control, mind altering..
You know I wrote a book on this.
The name Salvia Divinorum is vaguely familliar.
Must check my Labor Camp lists. Was she a reactionary?
Lovingly,
Comrade Stalin
P.S. So it weakens your immune system? Need to pass it to my
generals. Thanks.
May 18th, 2006 at 5:43 pm
who the hell is this stalin guy? he’s more delusional than i am, apparently. salvia is pretty weird stuff. i know somebody that has taken some and he said it was almost like being in that one andy milonakis skit where he sticks his head into the wall and there’s this weird atari/cartoon land all around his head.
May 18th, 2006 at 5:43 pm
First of all , there is a minority of people that do hallucinogens , not necessarily to get “high” , but for a perspective that may be otherwise unattainable , especially for people who seem to think they have all the answers and know what’s best for everyone else and what their “problems” are. The sad thing is that it’s exactly those people that would benefit the most from taking a step outside of their narrow little minds and possibly see things in a whole new light that would benefit the most from something like that . But when you’re always right to begin with , why bother eh ? I’m with Rick … mother nature doesn’t lie and no one knew more about nature than the indigenous tribes of the ” new world ” There are natural insights to be had from the earth . This herb sounds interesting to me and i’d like to know how to procure some myself

Hey Rick,
Between the FDA and Mother Nature I trust the FDA. You know why? Because just in this year mother nature cause more deaths than the Iraqi War, 9/11, Vietnam, and the Korean War combined. Also if you think logically, the two countries with the highest life spans are Japan and the United States. Both of these countries rely on Western medicine techniques. Also, why would the FDA attempt to deceive us? It is in their best interest to have us as healthy and safe as possible because if they are wrong and people get hurt then it is their ass that is held responsible, and more and more people like you begin to not listen or recognize them. I don’t understand people who prefer mystical Eastern remedies over Western medicine when it is Western medicine that records and improves based on previous observations. Western medicine is a living organism that improves upon itself as new knowledge is gained, while Eastern medicine relies on mysticism and no actual knowledge. Trusting eastern medicine is like trusting wive’s tales, it’s all myth while Western medicine actually relies on fact, and knowledge.

LOL, you need to get a grip on life Dan. FDA? That tunnel-vision’s a mutha, ain’t it? Dan, not to be facetious, but I have the feeling you voted for bush. Are you aware of how many drugs the FDA has recently approved that have caused very serious side effects, even deaths? Doesn’t sound like it. LOL, why would the FDA try to deceive anyone….you can’t be serious. FDA + pharmaceuticals = BIG MONEY…..wer’re talkin BIG, BIG money. You’re a little too naive to even be discussing the FDA, let alone Salvia. Take care.

i smoked the 60X salvia out of my pipe and the first time i did it i took two bit ass hits and was feeling a wierd high that isnt like any other thing ive done you probably wont like it the first time just because its so wierd but the second time i did it was about 2 hours later and i tripped all my buddies were growing out of this plant which ive heard is kind of a normal thing to see some kind of plant on salvia. my advise is to load about 2 hits worth hit it hold it in as long as you can blow it out and take another hit doing the same thing set your pipe or what ever you used to smoke it down because you sure as hell wont be able to hold on to it and everyone knows that a broken pipe ruins your day
peace out have a blast

As a past heavy pot smoker, (no, I don’t anymore) and after years of smoking, I finally realised that I was addicted. I had tried to stop many times with no success. I could stop smoking for over a year, however, the urge was still there. My resort for many days was beer and wiskey (I really think this is much worse than pot). So, I was on the lookout for something, anything to help curb this addiction.
The discovery of Salvia….
Upon reading the vast information and stories of Salvia, I became very interested and intriged. Some of the stories claim that Salvia helps depression, when tradional methods have failed. Could this be my ticket?
First I made a home-made water pipe, as it has been explained, this is the best method. My first was with 10X. I sat down in a dark room and took my first hit. The smoke was not as harsh as I expected and I held it as long as possible. As soon as the smoke was let out, the effects began. I closed my eyes and saw what appeared to be two tunnels of grass, just twriling before my eyes. It seemed like I was in a different world or dimension, very different than anything I have ever experienced. I remember thinking, what is this or where am I? Then I heard a (mans) voice (coming from the left) that said “You smoked Salvia”. As I was coming out of my dream-state, I was wondering who said this because I was alone in my house. Anyway, it was a earth moving experience.
Since that first time I have had a number of visits wit Salvia (I only smoke leaf now, one hit is enough). Many times it is hard to remember but only a small part of the vision.
Something very positive has become of this, my addiction for the other stuff mentioned has almost completely vanished. And something else, I don’t feel like I “NEED” Salvia. If it went away forever, I would be content with what I have experienced already.
I have come to a very high respect of this plant and now know why this is called the certain spritual names that it has been given. It is truly a spritual plant. It is not a weed to smoke and get “High”. The plant has a spirit. Anyone who has not partaken of this will have a very hard time of this understanding.
I hope all who read this will have a helping hand in perserving this precious being.
Please treat it with great respect.

i bought 10x and 20x from an online store. my first experience with the 10x made me feel really disoriented and gave me a feeling like i was being twisted apart. it kind of freaked me out but i few days later me and my buddies decided to try the 20x we used a torch lighter cause we heard it let out more of the chemical. i took a deep hit and held it until i fell down “through the floor” und into a world of color and made up things

I grow my own Salvia, and have started making my own extracts. The plant is fairly easy to procure in early spring, but harder and harder to find as the year progresses. It is easy to grow, as long as you water, and feed it regularly. Bugs do not like salvia, well the ones you really have to worry about. I had a swarm of Japanese beetles hit the garden early in the summer. They destroyed the Bay Plant that was right next to my salvia plants, but didn’t touch my diviner’s sage. My first experience with salvia was not a good one, but I also did not follow more experienced user’s advice. I did it in a well lit room, with the TV on. Very bad idea, the bright lights and flickering colors and sounds from a TV are very annoying on salvia. It’s best taken in a candle lit room, with soft music playing, and some sort of incense burning. It is a plant meant for ritual purposes, and is best used in that setting. Lady Salvia is kind to those who come to her seeking advice, but rotten to those you come to party. This is not a Party drug. It is NOT a substitute for MJ, or Acid, or anything else. MJ and Salvia are poler opposites. They affect different halves of your brain. In spiritual terms. Marijuana is solar energy out, and is passive. That is why you feel lazy after smoking MJ even when you are no longer high, but can still “function” while on it. Salvia is Solar energy IN, and Active. Most salvia user’s Report a feeling of Wellbeing after using it, sometimes more energized. However you can not function during a salvia “trip.” That is why a “sitter” is a REQUIREMENT. You need a sober person to be with you to make sure you don’t hurt yourself. There are no reports of deaths associated with salvia overdoses. If you take to much you’ll pass out. However, if you jump out of a 10th floor window or run in front of a buss while using it you will still be dead. The unfortunate incident with the Youth in Delaware was blamed on salvia divinorum. However salvia is just the scape goat. The child’s suicide note just mentions him using it. Not how often. Also he was on a orally ingested prescription Acne Medication (approved by the FDA) that is known to cause depression, and a doctor should be notified when symptoms of depression occur. It’s my feeling that the parents of this child did not want to take the blame onto themselves by not paying enough attention to their child’s health, habits, and mood. So they blamed it on something that would be easily believable by the “government fearing government believing people that listen to and believe everything the mind control machine tells them to.”
To those of you who want to try this drug to seriously get F**ked up, to get as high as they can or whatever. You are not welcome. Look elsewhere. Salvia is NOT for you.

I,m on probation so nnnnnoooo weed is salvia excrered in your urine?
September 11th, 2006 at 3:04 am
First off, www.marijuanaalternatives.com. I have not tried it yet, but it seems rather interesting. Completely legal. Salvia is described there as being “indigestible” and “not for human consumption.” Meaning… it has hallucinogenic effects that, more than likely, are not desired by those who aren’t expecting it. However, that only means that, like anything that’s mind altering, it’s toxic for your body. In terms of how much you can take in and the effects that it will have on your body, alone… well… you can’t eat too much salt, otherwise you’ll die of clogged arteries, you can’t drink too much water, or you’ll create an imbalance in your toxicity levels, and you definitely cannot drink too much FDA approved alcohol, otherwise you’ll just go into a coma like state and die or become a vegetable for the rest of your life. Also, remember, kids, eating too much ice cream makes you fat and then you just want to kill yourself. Everything is deadly, if not used correctly. Or… if used correctly, in accordance to the idea that one wants to.
P.S. In response to Dan’s comments regarding entrusting the FDA compared to the “spiritual indigenous peoples”… I see where you’re coming from. There are certain aspects to “spirituality” that are way too metaphorical to be considered factually based. Just like the Bible, and those funny little stories about Jesus walking on water and turning water into wine, etc., they’re all metaphorical images such as the ones that we see when we’re high and/or dreaming. They’re all interlocked in the brain, and, in my personal opinion, useful when it comes to working out subconsciously driven bad habits. But comparing wars that humans have constructed to deaths caused by tidal waves and earthquakes does not make any sense at all. Humans desiring to kill one another in no way can compare to accidental deaths due to weather misinformation or irregular movements quite some distance below the earth.
Or just not taking care of the fact that mother earth is where we come from and what we are and what we live off of. The environment seems to have become a secondary focal interest due to the multiple wars raging on in this world.
Seriously, Dan isn’t a dick. And, although I agree that his points weren’t based in enough reason, that’s no reason to limit him from expressing himself with sarcastic anger. It’s a reason for others to inform him of new ways of looking at the same fucking box we’re all staring at and trying to figure out.
PEACE — Heidi

First started trying salvia products (available at local head shops & online) last year. Very first experience was pretty spacey. I was outside and the woods seemed to come alive around me. IMHO the extracts (5X, 10X, 20x) work better for experiencing the results. I’ve tried the tincture drops, and they are a PIA to work with and stain clothing and carpeting. I put away what I had last year and just had some again today. I had forgotten how powerful that experience could be. After the 2nd hit from the water pipe, it was as if as I exhaled some force was pulling at my exhaled breath and my senses at the same time. I wobbled my way towards the bed thru the living room, tv was on and it actually was talking to me personally, I know that seems weird but its the experience I have had before too. It really is just annoying and it is best to be able to lie down and be able to experience your emotions, feelings and senses freely without any outside distractions while trying the salvia.

Aldous Huxley would have loved Salvia. It opens the hanger doors of perception wide, with a bang! Allowing the true spirit to fly. You will see out side the entire universe of time & space. seeing out side the being you think of as your self, you will come to realize that you are not the mind/body/world you have thought you always were, but only playing in the pond that is this reality like a child in a wading pool. The experence is more intense & more real than reality its self.
October 1st, 2006 at 10:42 am
I tried salvia last night, and I had the most incredible trip I’ve ever had.
It was much more visual than magic mushrooms.
My only regret is that I don’t think I took enough.
There were hallucinations, and many of them, but they weren’t as vivid and convincing as I would have liked.
I did however have a completely out of body experience, and at one point felt as if I was flying through space, witnessed the evolution of man, and saw a supernova.
Not bad going for a tiny plant.
October 5th, 2006 at 10:24 pm
how much dose salvia cost?
October 17th, 2006 at 3:25 am
Salvia is not a party drug. It’s used as a spiritual tool.
You need to respect it and use it for the right reasons, or you may have effects that you don’t want.
I use it and have not only had wonderful spiritual meditations, but I’ve also noticed health benefits.
Of course I can’t prove that it’s the Salvia, but I know my body. I have MS and I’ve known others who have medical issues that have seen results from using salvia. For the record, I don’t smoke it as many do. I use the quid method that the Shamans use. Personally I think it’s a dramatically better and healthier method. If you use salvia, research it first and use it with respect. If you’re just looking to get high, this isn’t the way.
October 18th, 2006 at 1:58 am
i have done salvia several times and each time i have had out of body experiences. i just have a couple recomendations as far as doing salvia. 1. respect it cause it will be a better experience. 2. use a torch lighter because the chemical burns at a higher temp then that of other herbs. 3. have a sitter present dont be a moron 4. be in a good set of mind while doing it because it enhances your current mood i.e dont do it depressed it just gets messy and you will have a bad experience. 5. its not a party drug its for inner self exploration.
October 24th, 2006 at 12:11 am
Salvia can be extremely scary. Be cautious and respectful. Otherwise, I believe this plant is completely safe.

Dear Comrades progressives, if you want Out Of Body
experience just move to Russia and join demonstration
against it’s govenrment.
Bang ! Bang!
Gloriuos Socialist troops will put you out of your body
And give you 70 virgins. Ultimate High!
Lovingly Yours,
Comrade Stalin.
P.S. Of course you can opt for that Gangi shit, but you’ll get
70 feminist three-baggers instead. Think naked comrade Hillary Clinton.
October 28th, 2006 at 9:33 am
My, my, comrade Stalin, aren’t we obsessing with female appearance these days. I thought glorious communism was supposed to liberate women from that type of sick bourgeous oppression so instead of being objectified, women could realize their higher calling of performing useful work for the state. So tell me, comrade, have you won any beauty contests lately? How is your “rack”?
Of course, with communism, a perfect world order is reached, so there is no longer any need for opiates of the people, but I bet you top dogs are smokin it in the back when you can get it, aren’tcha?

Ive done Saliva and so have my friends. Most of us would like to try again but lack the balls to for right now. Like it was said previously before you have to respect Salvia Divinorum or she will roll you. Here is website that has part of a video I shot of my friends smoking salvia Divinorum 10x extract….

You should read the Wikipedia article and the articles by independent drug advisory agencies. This is a relatively safe drug as it has low toxicity but you do have to know how to take it. Smoking it straight is not a good idea as it needs to get very hot (hotter than cannabis resin) to release the active ingredient and so you’ll get a sore throat and burnt lungs. Ideally use a bong or a vaporizor that can heat it well (like an “Eagle Bill”). Traditionally it is taken by chewing the leaves for a long time (10 min at least) whilst not swallowing the saliva. Your digestive juices break the active ingredient down but chewing it allows it to be absorbed through the mouth. It (usually) doesn’t taste that great.
Dosage varies between people and some claim to not be affected by Salvia. It is an odd drug in that the dosage required usually gets less the more you use it - as if your etheric body gets less attached to your physical if your into that sort of jibe. This also seems to be what happens when a person has lots of out of body experiences - they find it easier and easier to induce them.
Whether all this is good or bad is down to your own judgment and belief systems but considering many governments haven’t banned this one tells you something. My personal warning is that Salvia makes it easier to form _belief_ systems, i.e. its too easy to stop being rational when you come back to the real world. Don’t become a spiritual religious lost cause based on psychedelic experience - physics and reason (not walking through walls and getting advice from reputable sources) still applies in the physical world even if things are a bit wierd in the spiritual universe.

November 16th, 2006 at 9:31 am
PS: Its a variety of sage, i.e. that herb you might put on your dinner to make it taste good - although saying that its not toxic like sage is like saying that deadly nightshade isn’t toxic because its related to tomatoes.

Is Salvia legal in all 50 states?
December 1st, 2006 at 9:18 am
You can buy it at adult stores in different strengths in Wisconsin. I think it’s like 10x ; 40x ; 80x or something like that. It is said that the more divine your soul, the more accepting of the message you will be, i.e. diviners sage. Some ,uhhemm, friends talked me into smoking it once a long time ago. I should have noticed their hiding laughs and chuckles. It was like being in a lucid dream, and I feel most will be too scared of it to use it habitually because it will take wherever you want, or don’t want to go. Luckily it only lasts a few minutes. Although I see why it is considered a useful tool for mental expansion, it is very intense and if anyone reading this decides to try it, please make sure someone is there to watch over you and make sure you don’t fall into something breakable.
December 6th, 2006 at 4:25 am
Is salvia legal in oklahoma? I heard plain leaf is legal but nothing enhanced.
December 12th, 2006 at 2:38 pm
scary stuff for me, respect the substance is my advice having experimented with it this past
week. Had a very intense experince the last time i used it. I travled to a different place
and felt “people” laughing at me and that my whole life had been a trick performed by
these people. during the experince i was not aware of time or physical reality and when i
happily “returned” to the room i had walked into a wall and hit my head hard. Scary but
back to normal within a couple minutes. It is not a party drug and i knew this but did it
anyway in a setting not condusive to the salvia experience and learned my lesson.

Response to Heidi:
Great name! Heidi, everyone is on a path and each person’s path
should be respected & and honored as I’m sure you do, however, when
someone who doesn’t agree with another path or philosophy or faith
& dismisses it as those funny little stories from the Bible/Koran,
etc., is insulting.
Here we are talking about Salvia and people’s experiences, right?
Sharing information, right?
LEARNING about something we don’t know much about… because it’s
a PLANT.
For the individual/s who thinks Jesus walked on water, why
can’t you respect her/his path? Jesus existed, history proves it.
When the disiples thought they saw a ghost witnessing Christ walking on
the water, they must have taken the boat out and dropped LSD?huh?
Heidi, it’s kind of amazing when you consider 12 dudes going to
various parts of the world telling the story of Jesus…AFTER Jesus
was crucified. Why risk it? Why die for a lie?
BTW, Paul never met Jesus in the flesh. He met Him on the road to
Damascus. Paul hated Christians, he was responsible for many of
their executions. Christ, according to the Bible, spoke to Paul
from heaven. Paul was struck with blindness until a Christian
laid hands on him and healed him after 3 days.
So now there’s Paul preaching the Gospel of Jesus…AFTER He was
crucified. Another disciple, highly educated and powerful in the
Jewish community give it all up for a lie? To die? Hmmm.
That’s all documented. It’s history, Heidi. You don’t have to
accept it or like it or believe it. But others do so please have
a second think about how you express your reaction to other
people’s beliefs.
12 men don’t die for a lie.
12 men didn’t have email to keep the lie going
12 men didn’t have cell phones
There wasn’t satellite TV or even a dial phone.
The disciples had no contact with each other so there was no lie or
front to keep up.
So what seems little and funny to you was truth and passion
personified for others.
Please, don’t go dissing other people’s beliefs. You have a right
to your path and so does everyone else. Peace!

Yea, I bought some Sally-D from a local head shop, I’ve read how it can possibly be dangerous so its smart to have someone look after you while you partake.
While I definitly felt a weird body high, I didn’t have any weird experiences, but what was weird, I tossed and turned in bed all night, and had short fragmented dreams i can’t remember, the next day, i noticed i was in a better mood, like 10 times a better mood, sorta like the mood of a sober 12 year old who dosne’t have much to worry about, and I was out of cigarettes, i’ve smoked for eight years, but the craving was gone, so i went all day without a cigarette no problem, next day no craving, so far i’ve gone a week without smoking, which is fricken nuts, I didn’t really have a intense experience with Salvia Divinorum, not much of one at all, which pissed me off, because i watched my friend do it, and he had a intense trip, so i was jealous, but this stuff definitly did something to me, and as far as i can tell, its only been good things, I’ve only did sally-d once, i still have some leftover, i think i’ll wait till the time is right before i try it agian.

There has been some speculation that smokers are really self-medicating for low-level depression, mostly because some prescription drug that was developed for depression (and apparently doesn’t work too good for that) is also marketed under a different name for smoking cessation.
There is absolutely NO info about smoking cessation on the web, but I quit with the patch. And a stash of pretzel and carrot “cigars” to get me past the first minute of any cravings. Then I read that nicotine depresses insulin production so that is the reason for weight gain after quitting. So I started counting grams of fat in what I eat and trying to limit it to 25 grams a day. So you stop eating Ramen noodles and mayo, buy part-skim mozarella, and eat Canadian bacon on the pizza instead of sausage. That, and walking have reversed the weight gain I experienced (23 lbs. so far).
I got the patch on sale for $20/week and telescoped their time frames to about 5 weeks instead of 7 or 8, so it was a more cost effective nicotine-delivery system than a $25 carton of generics across the state line. If Salvia works for everyone the first time, that would certainly make it even more cost effective. Speaking as someone who has a daily struggle with the symptoms of lung disease, Sally D has given you a very sweet gift.

Does anyone else report the experience that tizmocho reports? I cannot find any other reference.

the first time i smoked salvia it was out of a waterpipe with plain leaf in the woods, man what a trippy experience, i concur with everyone who says this drug is not for the high but for mind expansion, WARNING this drug is nothing like magic mushrooms, acid, peyote or whatever phycadelics you may have heard, but as long as you are willing to accept the messages and symbols you will most defenetly recieve (as long as you smoke it the correct way) you are ready, if you have doubts or even the smallest of suspicions then it is possible to have the worst trip of you lifetime, my advice to any new users DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING SALVIA UNTIL YOU ARE 100% READY
i recieved some 60x salvia and some salvia tincture in the mail today and i will add another comment about my experience, im not quite sure how long the effects of 60x salvia last so if you have an idea then please let me know and im tired of people getting the extracts wrong, its plain leaf, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 40x, 60x, 80x, and finally 100x

I grew up with religion in the home. Never could buy into it. Went to the school 19 years. The Material world started to win its place in my life. There was so much physical proof here how can i argue for spiritual. Been broke, cold, and hungry my whole life. then i hit the SALVIA. NOW I AM SPIRITUAL. I dont care what you wanna believe in. Stalin (material), medicine(material), religion(spiritual), Yoga(spiritual), The ARts which are both spiritual and material. All these things make up your energy. And whatever your energy consist of is what you will become. All this may seem like a bunch of bs but i have never felt so inspired to write and let my voice out than ever before. It’s as if that salvia hit showed me how small i was in this world and that i am indeeed under some sort of god and my mission is too become my own god. This world is fake my friends. Its full of clowns.
When i took one hit of 5x extract my friend i became part of the earth. for one second i was seeing far beyond reality. It was weird i saw a tunnel then its as i was stuck half ways. Yes half ways. Between reality and the subconcious. I think i was fighting it and my body and mind were so excited and confused that they became ingaged in a struggle. All of my visions were turning in a weird chain link effect and i had all these people standing next to me also on the ride turning. I was scared it felt as if the world was gonna end. Actually the world did end. I came back. Then I was back here.
The only thing i must say is approach it like a king and submit to it. It will dominate you. What I mean is your physical body will never beat your spiritual. Just take the ride and dont fight anything, you will see what your mind and energies in the air want you to see. I recommend meditating right before using.

Salvia leads to the truth about us. It’s scary and sad, but liberating at the same time. If only we can remember those trips we all took. She is a very powerfull, intelligent and beautifull, but also unfaithfull and beyond our control.
You should always have a sitter, and have i strongly suggest to tape it on camera. It isnt gonna be pretty, but it will trigger important memories for you when u come back.
Speakeing of triggers, check this one out!

I’ve tried that stuff before, quite interesting to say the least. Very short lived, however. I smoked some mixed with pot once with some friends, and literall thought i was IN super mario brothers. I could see the pipes, and vine creatures and everything. My friend thought he was a DVD on a shelf and wanted people to pick him up and watch him….
pretty potent for legal stuff..but VERY short lived..high only lasted a matter of minutes

May 24th, 2007 at 11:00 pm
They used to cut hash with heroin, especially in Europe; people would get visual, auditory, and time distortion hallucination from it.

I ‘ve tried salvia before it is a very special thing it is
no way like lsd or shrooms the time the trip last is similar to dmt

I just wanted to get high.
I was at local head shop picking up some whip its (nitrous oxide, laughing gas)on my way out , the clerk said try this and gave me A free gram of 13X (they know well there). He said it was more intense than lsd. I said yeeeahh right , cause I tried lsd and it was crazy. I picked up a pint of whiskey on my way home. I got home did three boxes of whips it and slammed the whole pint in two hours.
I then noticed the little tiny bag with a 13X written on it in black marker.I was all alone no sitter. Didnt even know that I should of had a sitter. didnt even know what the little baggie contained or what is was called ( am I dumb or whaT?). I used to smoke weed and I had a glass pipe sitting in the drawer. I put the whole gram of SD in the pipe and hit it super hard and hot.
I didnt know where or who I was or what had happened I didnt know I has smoked something. I saw what looked like falling dominos out in front of me. as they fell they got nearer. When they got up to me. I felt it slap me on the side of my head/face and I fell down out my chair (got lucky nothing was there but a pile of dirty clothes). I thought someone mean was next to me running the trip. I just wanted it to end.I felt like a wheel in my head was running me over and squishing my soul out. I thought someone else gets my body now. I thought I was dying. I have no idea how long it lasted. I almost called 911. I crawled to my neighbors window and cried out “I think I really hurt myself.”. I thought something in my brain was seriously breaking as if my brain cells were exploding _ it was probably the lady not really my cells ???
Maybee its true, I was depressed and slightly suicidal when I did it. Dont do it for a get high or feel good- I did and It scared the turds out me. I value and respect life and death a whole diffrent way. thanks to SD. I think every drunk(maybee - im no DOCtor) should be barely or gently conned into it as a fun party drug and told to take the biggest hit you can and hold for as long as you - I was told and did. LOL i laugh now - not then. I may never do another drug or drink again. Im scared. life is to precious.
I have been in AA (aloholics ANon) For years. I have been sober for years off and on. I think that I am done playing the mad chemist with my mind and body as the medium for experiment. If you like AA see orange-papers.org for the truth. AA can be good. I go there to meet people that value not drinking and using chemicals. There steps are a farse and there main text extremely outdated. continually proven to be ineffective and even dangerous. Guilt inducing and utter helplessness. which only magic can solve (god)I dont do god its too violent a concept - beliefs need defending. Relationships with humans I think is the answer to all my spiritual and chemical problems.
Do I regrett doing it? NO
would I do it again - F*ck no.
Should you have sitter or be in safe padded room or tied safely - probably.
Tx
for hearing me.
BE safe

Citizens request that you line item veto: HB0457: page 7 LRB095 04451 RLC 26428 b and remove Salvia from the bill. Salvia is not a plant that should be considered for this bill. If you make this plant illegal not only will you be eliminating 100,000 of dollars a year in tax revenue to the state of Illinois, you will be shutting down businesses and putting people out of work. Salvia is currently used in shaman rituals, religious ceremonies and for healing both by lisc. and holistic doctors and practitioners. The plant has antioxidants, is a natural anti- depressant, is being used and researched to treat bipolar disorder, alzheimer’s (because it unlocks memory and helps recall), is being used to benefit suffers of rheumatism and joint pain, to aid others overcome severe drug additions and treat severe depression (documented in medical studies has been successful where other medications have failed), it has also be used to ease depression related to PMS and new cutting edge research of biosynthesis and medical applications of rosmarinic acid has been held promising. Hundred’s of thousands who could be helped by the benefits of Salvia will be left to suffer. Medical research is very hopeful about how it can assist in a greater understanding of the brain. The state would also be rejecting alternative religions, cultures and societies that hold this plant SACRED, yes SACRED (American Indians, Shaman faiths, Alternative faiths and societies and peoples who immigrated from South and Central America into the US, use it to Salvia to commune with the Holy Mother and the Divine (God) and many of these people are in the US and Illinois. It would cost Illinois taxpayers millions to police salvia. People would illegally grow it, sell it, without the tax benefits going to our schools, roads, hospitals, cities and townships. Press accounts of efforts to ban Salvia often quote law enforcement and government officials who exhibit an inaccurate knowledge of the plant’s effects. Salvia has a nondescript appearance (being in the same genus as cooking sage), can be grown in a small space, has no odor and requires no elaborate lighting set-up. For these reasons, criminalization is likely to affect only the commercial sale of the plant, and not its private cultivation, which would be very difficult to police and extremely costly to tax payers.
Citizens request that you line item veto: HB0457: page 7 LRB095 04451 RLC 26428 b and remove Salvia from the bill. Salvia divinorum has begun to be researched and documented by a number of companies and universities on the medicinal applications of Salvia. Including antioxidants, as a natural anti- depressant, use against rheumatism and joint pain, to aid others overcome additions and treat severe depression where other medications have failed (these cases have already been medically documented), to ease depression related to PMS and new cutting edge research of biosynthesis and medical applications of rosmarinic acid. But if salvia is made illegal, it will greatly reduce the amount of research needed and treatment protocols that may result in ending the suffering of 1000’s of individuals. Salvia is in no way a stimulant, a sedative, a narcotic, nor a tranquilizer. Medical research has great hope for this plant. Be cautious about outlawing plants when you have yet to uncover its medicinal value. For example, we have just found out in newly released medical research of another plant that has been crucified as a drug in the US for decades and is currently illegal in most states, yet NOW been proven by medical research that it slows and even stops the growth of tumors and may be especially beneficial to breast cancer research. Thousands of women die each year from Breast Cancer and could have been saved had people who did their research, stopped and considered the long-term affects on medicine and society and got informed. Thousands more could benefit from the treatments using Salvia. Salvia has never caused anyone harm and does not have 1/10 the negative side affects of cigarettes, tobacco, alcohol or many, many prescription drugs (we know why no one bans them, money and lobbyist). Thousands upon thousands die from addictions to tabacco and alcohol every year–yet not one tries to band these because it is big business. Lastly, under the Federal Analogue Act, salvia fails to meet the “chemically similar†criteria and thus is not subject to the analogue act provisions.
SALVIA DIVINORUM should be available for all those over the age of 18. STOP THE WITCH HUNT AND BE THE GOVERNOR OF REASON AND LEAD THE WAY!

I did a shit load of the herb the other week. I dont consider myself an expert of any particular drug but have experience of most uppers, downers & hallucinogens. S.Div. is by far the wierdest! A few minutes after smoking it your whole perception of what is real, where u are & what the fuck is going on is altered. Not only visuals but sounds that fit the experience. Your brain takes you on a surreal journey that you would not thought possible. It’s like experiencing another planet. I felt safe though & the journey is smooth & enjoyable.

Stop taking large fucking doses of Salvia and then saying it’s bad. If you don’t document yourself about the plant BEFORE you take it and have a bad trip it’s your own dumb mistake. How the hell do you expect a nice trip from 60x extract of the most potent natural occuring hallucinogen known to man?!?
It’s like drinking 1000ml of VODKA, falling into a coma, and saying alcohol is very bad.

Hello all, Ive done salvia a number of times and to tell you the truth i am only 14, but i have seen much more than any grown man has ever imagined seeing. Salvia is a very powerful plant and i do believe it’s spiritual reflect on the Human Mind. Ive sat and smoked it by myself and smoked it with a friend, a friend who 17 and was an athiest and me being tugged between buddhism and christianity. Durring me observing my friend tripping i realized he was having an out of body expirience and from the Bud we already smoked before this, i realized a spirit of evil or confusion has entered his body. and these are the exact words he said when it happened. ” Oh my god…I’m back.. IM BACK !……….Im going to kill you.”
Friends, this kid was smoking this plant to have a very trippy trip and was not aware of its Spiritual effects.. and ignored its purpose and ignored every time i tried and told him its meaning and reasons. then he crawled underneath my blanket on the side of my bed hiding from the penguins that were on TV.I smoked this plant and felt a great deal of wanting to know ” The Truth. ” My trip was fairly similar to my friend’s trip at first before his got ugly. I took several hits outside my roof and exhaled then began to feel effects kick in. I noticed i was not in control of my natural state in mind and that i was in for a ride. This state in mind i was in after smoking Salvia was not scary, or an uncomfortable feeling of disorderly thinking, but a rather “Path to the unexplained” The trip was as if somebody was laying down all the information i needed to know and put it on the table right in front of me. I do believe there is something much more advanced and Greater than what we Humans know of.But i also believe that Humans can access this knowledge and use it in very Powerful and Positive ways.
Like the others have said before i posted this, Salvia is meant for explorers who want to know the truth, the essential meaning to life and everything else known to make a significant difference to life.
If you are willing to take in the information, you will be Ok.
I am an average 14 year old boy who goes to school everyday who wishes to see the world as it is before it..Eventually comes to an end. now this statement is for me and the other people who accept the fate of their own lives. Do not Criticize what hasn’t happened yet, and about the possibilities of it happening, because theres always a possibility of something greater than the Mind can think that is out there.
The point of this is me telling you an experience that was more real to me than anything ive felt before.
Some of you may be thinking that ive lost my mind or that it has been so influence by this plant that i have lost my mind. but i say to you all that i have had the furthest thought of losing my mind, instead, i have thought of just beginning to find my mind. I would say i am an early explorer. An explorer of my own consciousness.
If you are wanting to know more of my experiences with this plant and much more other things, please contact me at aaoyikers12@hotmail.com
i look forward to a path of understanding and experimenting with people who understand what this plant is and its purpose.
I would be glad to tell you what all needs to be heard and understood.

last night was my first time using salvia. i’m 45yrs old and consider myself a psychedelic expert. i’ve had all the experiences listed as salvia trips on other substances, ie; time travel, total disintigration of mind, out of body experiences, astral travel, white light, etc. etc. etc. so basically i felt prepared for anything. i read the salvia user guide, i hand made a stone pipe to be used only for salvia, then i hooked up my room with flashing lights, candles, and brightly colored prints.(i consider all that visual stimulation a mistake now) so now i receive my 25mg extra strength capsule of salvia. originally i was going to smoke half, but after reading a comment about some people being salvia hardheads, i cynically decide to use it all in one puff.the highlights of my experience are first i panicked. then i lost touch with all reality. who, where, what the fuck am i? i merged with the goddam flashing lights. i was an eternity of flashing lights. somethings not right. salvia. who, what, where am i? salvia. i stagger through my room to outside, divine inibriation. i see moon, clouds, stars. what does it mean? salvia. i “remember” how to smoke. i take a few puffs off a cig.( mistake) now i’m salvia. now i’m tobbacco. i stagger back inside. i remember now, salvia, is something i smoked. i lie down, goddam flashing lights. i become george of the fucking jungle. i live a life thats free. watch out for that tree. (blam) goddam flashing lights. i make a conscience decision to “become” salvia again. i remember salvia is a healing herb. i allow salvia to enter every molecule of my body. i feel salvia regenerating my shattered liver cells. i feel salvia aligning and reorienting all my cells “back” into proper alignment. i feel salvia repairing synapses and rerouting neurons in my brain. this is all good. salvia heal me, salvia heal me. i allow salvia to continue healing me as i come down.
trust me, this is one hell of a first trip on one puff of smoke. this shit is as strong and psychoactive as anything can be (one puff)
this next day i still feel it healing me.
i wished i had a sitter.
i wish i didn’t have all those goddam flashing lights on.
i wish i would have been more professional with this shit.
like i said “one hell of a first trip”
-Peace-

I just recently experienced salvia and one thing I can say is it is truly a special experience and should not be done for recreational purposes. I am not an online blogger at all, but the impact of the substance has made want to share it with other people who are curious.
I bought salvia for the wrong reason. I did not know much about it, but only that it would mess me up some how and since I was unable to find weed at the time I thought I would buy some salvia. People can say that marijuana is not addictive all they want, but the truth is that I was addicted to weed. The last few years I started smoking weed more and more and I began to notice that I only wanted to be high. I would do anything to find weed and stay up all night just to be high because I just loved how it made me feel.
Not knowing the effects of salvia I packed it in a glass pipe and smoked it, expecting to get high. Since I was so used to smoking weed I proceeded to smoking more salvia assuming that I would need a lot to feel its affects… later I learned this was not the case. Suddenly I started to imagine things and had not known what was going on. I started to freak out at first because I had no idea what the hell was going on. Not only did I not expect to trip out, but I had completely left reaity as I had known.
Many people say that the experience is something that cannot be explained, only experienced and I could not agree more. I felt very foreign in my very own bedroom until I saw something familiar and probably my most prized posession from my childhood that made me realize that it was going to be alright. I then laid down for the remainder of the experience. As much as I would love to explain what had happened I cannot even attempt because nothing can even come close to the actual feelings I had. The only thing I can say is I felt that I had left my own body and was completely satisfied. My spirit truly felt at peace with where I was. Coming out of the experience I knew I was starting to come back and wanting to go back to the world where I had just been where nothing had ever felt so peaceful in my life.
I have both anxiety disorder and a horrible case of ADHD. I am medicated for both and on the highest dosage of Adderall (XR 30) twice a day. Since my experience with salvia I have felt calm, relaxed and no longer desire marijuana. Now I am not dissing pot by any means, all I know was that it was controlling my life before and now it is not. To make things even better, the salvia is not addicting what so ever and although the feelings felt so heavenly, it is not something to be abused but rather treasured.
To some this experience may seem weird, but it is what it is. I was looking to get high and within a few minutes my life had changed. It left me feeling that there is more to life than the small things I often worry about. It really saddens me how people post videos tripping out on the experience when it does no harm and has been a sacred part of a culture for such a long time and unfortunately it will most likely become illegal because of its misuse.

I’ve done Salvia about 3 times now (maybe 4).
What Salvia does is show you the many other dimensions which make up the entirety of reality. There is probably one more dimension of space and dime. Salvia shows you this, and can show other periods in one’s life as well.
Itzhak Bars’ theory on 2 time physics says our reality can best be thought of as a ’shadow’ cast on a surface by a larger ‘3d shape’ or all encompassing reality. What we experience is just one of the infinite number of shadows cast by that larger reality. This article is a good read about this subject: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/main.jhtml?xml=/earth/2007/10/10/scitime110.xml
The point is, Salvia allows one to see the terrifying truth about our reality being one of many which are very similar, slight deviations from this one.
anyways, it’s kind of a freaky realization, but get used to it. write me at snugglepuggle@hotmail.com if you can relate or want to talk about Salvia D.

I tried Salvia for the first time about 2 months ago. I did the 40x extract and took
2 big hits. After that it sent me into a panic mode. I was walking aimlessly around my basement into walls and furniture. I was saying, “Call the cops, call the hospital.” Just imagine the worst experiece you have ever had, now times that by about 100, and that is how I felt on Salvia. I felt like my life was over and I had just screwed myself. After the first hardcore part ended, I was lying on my couch, about and hour later still not feeling right. I kept saying to my friends, “I think I’m fucked for life.” It was the scariest time of my life. Now I have done shrooms multiple times, acid once, Ketaimine multiple times, cocaine a bunch and I smoke weed daily. NOTHING, comes anywhere near the experience with Salvia 40x Extract. I tried to go to sleep that night, hoping and praying that i would wake up and be normal.
I did not. For about a week afterwards I had crazy waves of depression andfeelings of being detached and being a whole new different person. I liked the person I was before my Salvia experience way better than the post-Salvia. FINALLY, about a month later, I could say to myself “I am finally better, and back to normal” But I’m just not sure that I am. I still have really scary thoughts regarding the experince. my recommendation would be to NEVER smoke Salvia. What is the point? Meditation? Finding yourself? …Yeah, I found my self.. in an extremely scary place no one should ever want to be. If you do try it, do the 10x or 20x first, becuz I’ve heard from others that it is way less intense. Good luck in your decision making.

No offense to him particularly but people like were Dan and others who cannot handle the trip simply were not prepared for a spiritual experience beyond the normal range of human knowledge. A similar debate rages from scientists who tend to “not want to go” where their own knowledge reaches the point that it doesn’t fit into their preconceived notion. I HIGHLY recommend anyone with an interest in physics, metaphysics, the occult, mysticism, native cultures or other forms of magic to let the Salvia take you to it’s world.

Ok. I know I’m going to sound like a dildoe, but Salvia messes with some delicate mental processes, and should be treated with caution. I’m not coming here to say I’m an expert on psychology, metaphysics, or whatever, but i know enough from college to give opinion. I do know how scary it is to lose you’re state of mind. Today i bought 10X on a end of supply sale. I thought, F it; the last time I did it, I was 13.
Well, I sat down before bed, and i took a breathful. On my way to the bathtub though, WAM! it hit me. From there on out, i was without any conception of reality. If i wasn’t stable enough to calm myself and understand what was going on, i can imagine myself getting lost in that five minute expansion the way Dan did. I think the herb plays with a phenomenon that we have a natural barrier against. When you induce a dissociative episode, man… like the previous guy said, why would you want to be anything but yourself?
The way i think about it, out bodies and minds our set up to live in the sensate. you lose that, you lose purpose and panic. What I do know for a fact, is that being displaced can cause anomie. You can see that when someone loses all material goods, and commits suicide. imagine losing your sense of self. I can completely understand where Dan went with Salvia, and It’s surprising that more people don’t have the same tale.

just a repost about what exactly i meant to say:
Annelizabeth got it right. That’s exactly how i feel about the xperience. I do feel though, that some people who enter into it not expecting a dissociative episode will be taken for a ride. Abuse and misuse of this drug is more than a irresponsible use of a substance: it’s an irresponsible use of your mind, and the internal processes governing it. I didn’t understand what the drug was until i used it, but now I do.
You’re throwing yourself into an out of body experience. Your experiencing a dissociative episode, the same experience that many have after traumatic events. Use it for a moment of clarity, but if you’re trying to get high, don’t be surprised if you panic.

Dan, my experience was identical to yours in every way, right down to the depression and long-lasting after effects.
I tried the 60x extract, took two hits out of a bong.
In retrospect, I see that my biggest problem was that I was as unprepared as I could possibly be for the effects. I had done no research on salvia and was not aware that first-time users should NEVER use an extract so strong. 5x or 10x are the standard dosage. Additionally, when using such high dosage one should NEVER be alone, and must always have a sitter. YOU CAN SERIOUSLY INJURE YOURSELF OR OTHERS IN THIS DISSASOCIATIVE STATE.
This plant can be a wonderful tool for self-exploration, but one must be PREPARED before taking a salvia trip. There are many unethical and ignorant vendors out there (much like the one who sold to me) who will push salvia as a party drug. It is not a recreational drug, is nothing like other psychedelics, and must never be treated as such.
For anyone wishing to try salvia for the first time, I believe it is imperative to read this free user’s guide first. http://www.sagewisdom.org/usersguide.html
Good luck and be safe!

Folks, this is a powerful drug. I am 48, have not done any drugs for 20 years, except alcohol. Had a rare couple of days to myself (no kids, wife, work etc)Read about salvia in the newspaper– politicians wanting to make it illegal– peaked my interest since it is legal. Did a little searching, found it at headshop/sextoy store just 5 minutes away. Bought the 20X variety, plus a pipe to smoke it with– remember– no drugs for 20 years, thus no implements. Hey, 5 minutes away, less than $50, legal– I’m thinking all the way that I am being totally stupid and will take the stuff and write what a total bogus deal it is. Digressing for a moment– 20+ years ago– total stoner– pot, LSD, mushrooms, coke, speed, downers– name it I took it and abused it. So, back to the deed. Sat down on the back porch with a fresh glass of icewater and a cold beer. Peeled the price tag off the pipe, tore the shrink wrap off of the salvia (looks like a tin of Sucrets, very innocent) Put a bit in the pipe, fired it up– one hit, another very quickly after—— holy shit—- completely undone, passed out whatever— don’t exactly know because no one else was here. Complete immersion into a fairly unpleasant trip. Came to on my knees. No sense of time, my only indicator was that my beer was still cold and there was still ice in my water. The previous 5-10 (?) minutes is a loss as to what happened, other than the psych trip, which again, was not happy. Having said all of that– Major Advice– this is an incredibly powerful drug, heed the advice of others (have someone else with you, most importantly) and DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POTENCY just because it is legal and available at the corner store. I thought I was a bad ass, but now…

I have not had t6he chance to try Salvia yet because I am waiting for my order to come in the mail. However, from the last few post here it just surprises me how people will try anything without researching it first. I have read probably over 10 sites and hundreds of pages relating to those sites to find experiences and information before proceeding. A friend told me about Salvia in 2003 when I was in the military since it was legal and still is as far the Air Force is concerned. Yet, I forgot about it when I got of the military. The local news presented a quick commercial with a synopsis of a story they were going to do in regards to it later that night and it jogged my memory. I went looking for as much information as I could. I think I am well prepared and have bought various extracts and just foliage so I can work up to the longer lasting astral experiences. I have had astral experiences to a certain extent without ever using a drug but have never been able to fully break the barrier of leaving my own body. I always could feel myself lifting out like my body was sinking and I could not move my limbs but the last time it happened I freaked a little because I heard heavy breathing right behind where my head would be on my bed and jumped right back into my body to find no one there. I spoke to a fortuneteller or soothsayer who asked if my family had done any major construction around the home lately and I said yes we tore down a line of trees and dug up the ground to begin putting in a fence. She said essentially I ticked off some spirits who had apparently made their home there. I made amends in the way she instructed me to by sprinkling some tobacco as an offering and never had anything come up again but without even using something like Salvia it was still pretty intense and crazy to have nothing there breathing heavily and deeply behind your head as if it was mad. I am looking forward to it but also know that I am going to have to have my guard up. I would say that in all the research I have done the one most important thing if you decide to by the extracts is to make sure it is a standardized extract instead of a crude extract method. The standardized uses chemistry to isolate the active ingredient in S. Divinorum and then a measured amount of Divinorum A placed back on to the leave. The crude method is a boiling down of X number of leaves until you are left with a gooey substance that is in turn scooped out with a regular leaf. The crude method does not guarantee the potency that you are being informed it is. In addition, the crude method leaves tar and particle leaf matter from the boiling down process that can be harmful to your lungs and body when smoked. Someone posted way long ago I read that they had gotten a sore throat or infection after smoking and I would perhaps make the assumption that the method they used for extraction on the dose they bought is what caused it. I also have heard if you smoke cigarettes that can also cause some sinus infection. Last thing I got to say and that is to those of you who bought the shit because someone was selling it to you like a party drug I am so sorry that they did that you. I have seen YouTube videos of friends messing with friends after they have smoked or not informing their friends of what they were going to be in for and you so want to beat the crap out of those people, especially the ones who know what is happening and they still mess with you after you smoked it Anyhow peace for now everyone and if/when I get my order and take that initial leap I’ll make sure to update you all on how it went.

I am doing research on salvia and am writing articles on salvia. I am going to write 50 articles on various topics on salvia. I want someone to review my article. I will be grateful to you. This is my blog http://salviamonster.com/wpmu

A knife in a child´s hand may be dangerous, in an mature artist hand can make art.
Salvia must be done with respect, and like any other substance or drug must be taken from a small dosage to a bigger one in a degradé method till you find you own dosage.
Having afraid means that´s not for you or tha you respect it…
It´s a fantastic “thing” that can take you in a deeper level of your mind, and see memories and stuff that otherwise is “almost” impossible.
I agree when you say that would be better if you could get there without drugs, but some times we got to be realistic and understand that that option is more utopic than pratical.
Don´t wanna teach nothing to any one, just tell my experince and way of seeing things…
You cannot define this drug in one single way, it can give you many diferent experiences and levels of conciousness. You can just laugh has you can travel (not sure if just in you mind or also in time and space). But maybe we shouldn´t try to put such a mystical and powerfull thing in one sentence.
But one thing is for sure, the most close tat i´ve been of something that i call devine was with this and a mix of herbs called Xanga.
Divine has many ways and is present in everything…
Has an acient Toltec once said:
“We and everything that sorrounds us is made of the same light seen in the stars”
You can see the sunshine just like a sunshine or you can see it has a magic and beutyfull happening, it just depends if you can percept things in a magic way.
Life is allready divine, don´t need to go to heaven to see that!!!

IN THE END IT TURNS OUT THAT YOU’RE JUST FUCKING HIGH.
how about going through the often undesired path of self development, the true and natural way toward self awareness, mindfulness and spirituality by exercising restraint, awareness, kindness and acceptance, instead of taking drugs that give you the false perception of divinity, short term, leaving you to depend on them for further cosmic-Godlike connections.
January 24th, 2009 at 2:28 pm
Why don’t I want to take your path toward mindfulness? For the same reason, oh ye who specializes in addiction, that I eat chocolate, and not carob.
January 25th, 2009 at 12:50 am
there is nothing wrong with eating chocolate, and your argument is plain stupid. Drugs are not evil, it is the people that use them and in the way that they are used that make them potentially dangerous.
January 26th, 2009 at 6:58 am
Golly, but that’s not the argument you used before. You were blasting people for taking drugs “that give you the false perception of divinity”. There are plenty of religious traditions that center around the use of drugs, you know. Are their divinities more false than other religions’ divinities? Besides, how do you know that going to church gives a perception of divinity that is any more true than that perceived under a drug like salvia divinorum? There’s no more proof of reality in one than in the other. Your rant is swiss cheese, oh ye who specializes in addiction.

It is now being slowly made illegal in some of the states in the US.
