Irregular Times Diaries: Unfit Discussion

My prayer on this Fourth of July:

Dear God, on whom we all rely and depend, and to whom all honor, respect and obedience is due, please forgive us for forgetting you, your light, your way and your truth. Especially forgive those of us who use “freedom” as an excuse to run around burning flags, worshipping false idols, buggering their neighbors, putting crucifixes in pee, and otherwise pursuing what they think is happiness. Forgive my neighbor Sam for speaking out against your representative on Earth, George W. Bush. I know he’ll get his righteous comeuppance soon, but please, dear God, send him some sort of plague or pestilence soon. Preferably pestilence, but whatever is Thy Will, really. Please forgive Sam, but not until he gets his pestilence. Thank you, Lord, on whom we all depend for bread and sugar and candy and beef. Amen.
