Irregular Times Diaries: Unfit DiscussionIn a time of the spring, old paths are obscured and new growth begins.
[original] Ok, I have been writing this document for a while now, and I just decided to see what some other people have to say about it. Just comment on it. I do not claim creation for everything in there, much of my thoughts were inspired by say for example, what i was listening to at the time, to inspire me to write about it. It is also not my only journal I keep, just a fun thing I put together. All the stories are entirely mine however, and are at most based on other small texts. If you actually take the time to read my thoughts, and comment I would be very happy.
Yeah, whatever, no comments, no nothing, just those lame stars, so I removed my post. It seems like only left wing liberalistic Americans with nothing better to do then bash their president ( I am not a bush supporter, I just think that if you really care, you would do something more then bitch about what a bad president he is) post on this website, but i mean, what was I expecting anyways, And no comments either, I would think that if anyone actually did take the time to read 17 pages of that (not like most people here bother to learn another language too) you would at least be gracious enough to leave a small note or opinion.
A rating means nothing at all without an idea to back it up.

Okay, I’ll venture something. First of all, I have taught English 101, so I have read a lot of awful stuff, and I have also seen students write better and better stuff as they learned the basics.
First of all, your grammar and spelling are flawless, which is rare on this site. But in the grading scheme I had to use to grade student papers, grammar counted for less than 10% of the grade, so good grammar alone won’t get you anywhere. It just makes your ideas easier to read and understand and helps present you as a serious and educated person.
I didn’t rate you at all, although I read a good deal of your 17 pages and skimmed the rest of it. I could not figure out your main point, or for that matter, any of your other points. The best I could figure out was that it was some sort of personal diary and that the 17 pages represented some sort of mood or something you wanted to remember for yourself. I really couldn’t get a handle on it at all.
You might want to think back to English 101. Remember topic sentences? The first sentence of the paragraph establishes the main idea. The other paragraphs support the main idea by giving reasons and examples. There are other formats for writing paragraphs, but you get the idea.
English 101 is not just something English teachers do to torture people, although I certainly had to suffer through the course too. If you can get through the tedious nature of learning to construct paragraphs, you will be able to move on to something more interesting and creative. It looks to me you are trying to be creative without using the basic writing skills.
You might also think about the topic you are writing about. On this site people are primarily interested in politics, although they are interested in other things too. If there is something you do for a living or for pleasure that is influenced by politics, the readers here would probably find your personal experience interesting. If you think this site is too left-wing, and can be more specific about what you don’t agree with and why, that might be an interesting discussion to start, but be ready for some strong viewpoints from other readers.
Finally, I would not keep changing and changing your posts. It is pretty easy to just write a new post, or to post a new comment on your own piece. A while back somone posted a really long piece about industrialization, or something like that (but not 17 pages!), and no one commented for a month or two. Finally someone made a comment, then a few more people commented. So if there is something you really like yourself and want feedback on, I would just leave it up and see what happens.

As a left wing liberalistic Americans with nothing better to do then bash my president, let me ask you a question:
Do you have something better to do than bash the president? And by “bash,” of course, we don’t mean physically attack, but criticize policy?
Got something better to do than speak out about an unwinnable morass of a war that’s grinding away with no end in sight killing thousands of Iraqis and dozens of Americans a month? Good for you.
Got something better to do than speak out against torture and detentions without legal recourse? Good for you.
Got something better to do than speak out against a tax cut for the super rich paid for by runaway national debt? Good for you.
Got something better to do than speak out against an administration that’s done nothing about global warming? Good for you.
Apparently, calling liberals names for not talking about something you won’t even show any more is more important than any of those things. Glad you’ve got something better to do.

I also read your original post, Palandora, and I could not determine what it was about, except about how you were feeling at different moments in time.
The purpose of the writing, it seemed to me, was for you to vent something, and so as a measure of respect of the validity for you of venting and the highly personal nature of your words, I decided not to say anything rather than upset someone who seemed to be in a vulnerable spot by saying, “You know, I have not a damned clue what you meant by what you wrote.”
But now that you ask: you know, I have not a damned clue what you meant by what you wrote.
Hey, you asked…

I obviously missed an historic and highly significant piece of writing. I must come here more often.
