Irregular Times Diaries: Unfit Discussion

A fascinating piece of scientific research was announced today, though most people overlooked it, just as people on a boat in the middle of the ocean might not notice a tsunami rolling underneath their feet. Well, ignore this story at your own peril!

It turns out that 8,000 years ago, a big piece of Mount Etna fell off into the ocean and caused a gigantic tsunami to shoot across the Mediterranean Sea. This tsunami was over 130 feet tall. To understand how tall that is, imagine stacking 520 standard-sized salt shakers, one on top of another. That’s how high the ancient watery wall of death was.

What the scientists in the study decided not to publish is the fact that most of Mount Etna remains above sea level, but could drop into the ocean at any second, given the right circumstances. Such an event would create a tsunami that would make the ancient wave of destruction look like a mere ripple, and destroy European civilization south of the Alps!

Given such destruction, the European Union would surely fall apart, and the United States would have no serious rivals in its quest for world domination. Thus, a one world government would not be far behind.

Is it any wonder, then, that tidal wave monitoring equipment in the Mediterranean is not calibrated to report the scale of such a catastrophe? Why, it’s almost as if someone wants this disaster to take place, without any possibility for people to try to escape the waves.

Who is planning this attack against Europe anyway? Could it be, perhaps, the Knights of Malta, who just so happen to be promoting an “independent” candidate for President of the United States in 2008? The coincidences are too great to dismiss.

I just got myself a wafflemaker. A simple, basic wafflemaker. It’s fast, it’s hard to screw up, it’s easy to clean up, and it makes delicious waffles. My question is this: why do people make fun of wafflemakers when they are so great?

It isn’t just here in the United States that the Religious Right is trying to keep the evidence for the evolution of species through natural selection hidden. In Kenya, leaders of Pentacostal Christian churches are starting a campaign to pressure the National Museums of Kenya to remove fossils of ancient hominids from public view because the existence of those fossils contradicts the claims about the supernatural origin of life on Earth proposed in the book that forms the basis of Christian religion.

The fossils include not only Homo erectus, a human species that predated Homo sapiens, but Australopithecus anamensis as well. Australopithecines are categorized in a separate genus than humans because they have a combination of traits that seem to be like those of the ancestors we share with chimpanzees and bonobos and those that are distinctive of humanity. One or more of the australopithecine species is likely to be a human ancestor, though australopithecines were not quite human themselves.

Looking at fossils of extinct species like Homo erectus and Australopithecus anamensis, as well as the many other ancient hominid species that have been discovered and can be seen in museums and research institutions around the world, one phrase comes easily to mind: “Missing link”. That phrase comes to mind, but it isn’t exactly accurate. After all, these links between ancient ape-human common ancestors aren’t really missing, are they? No, in spite of what Creationists like the Kenyan Pentacostals claim, those links have been found, and can be seen quite clearly in places like that museum in Nairobi.

How embarrassing for the Creationists.

Even more embarrassing is the reaction of the Kenyan Creationists. Confronted with clear evidence that their religious beliefs are not literally accurate, the Creationists have not adapted their beliefs to fit with reality. Instead, they are trying to cover up the evidence. They’re demanding that those fossils of extinct hominids from Kenya be hidden from public view, so that people won’t be able to see the truth.

From Kansas to Kenya, Creationists are working hard to replace information with ignorance, converting schools into seminaries and museums into mythological exhibitions. Seminaries and displays of mythology ought to be allowed in their own places, but those of us who prefer to be able to access information that has not been filtered by religious censors ought to be able to find what we’re looking for.

Right wingers are down low, low down. How low down? How down low? They’re lower down than prairie dogs. In fact, they’re so low down that they’ve been using their power over the federal government to mess with prairie dogs.

Deputy Assistant Secretary Julie MacDonald at the United States Fish and Wildlife Service was recently caught doctoring scientific papers so as to make it appear that endangered species in fact were not in need of protection.

Here’s what the Union of Concerned Scientists has to say about how MacDonald messed with the prairie dogs:

“Documents show that MacDonald directly tampered with a scientific determination by FWS biologists that the white-tailed prairie dog could warrant Endangered Species Act protection, and further, prevented the agency from fully reviewing the animal’s status. Handwritten and Microsoft Word “track changes” edits show MacDonald herself eliminated or disregarded information from the draft finding that would have led to a positive determination, while declaring that further study is necessary. She also changed scientific conclusions, and even added erroneous scientific information that confused the distinct white-tailed and black-tailed prairie dog colonies. Accompanying emails indicate MacDonald ordered the finding to be changed from positive to negative.”

If you’re having a faith-based campaign for President, it should be no problem to fail miserably as governor of a large state and yet continue to harbor presidential aspirations. This is the path charted by George Pataki, who leaves Albany this year as one of the most unpopular governors in New York State history. Pataki is so unpopular that he didn’t even try to run for re-election this year. What’s a Pataki to do? Run for President, of course!

Pataki is one unsavory character. In his attempts to gain right wing support for a campaign for President in 2008, Pataki took many radical steps, such as vetoing legislation that would have improved access to the morning after pill as a form of emergency contraception. Pataki claimed that if he didn’t veto the legislation, teenagers across New York State might come to harm. To harm from what? Harm from not getting pregnant while still in high school? The veto was given after pressure from right wing religious groups, whom Pataki apparently regards as part of his political base.

Now it appears that Pataki’s long political maneuvering was all for naught. The Republican base doesn’t seem interested in supporting Pataki’s campaign for President anyway. Apparently, just being from New York State is reason enough not to get Republican support.

Jeff Kramer of the Syracuse Post Standard lampoons George Pataki’s rapidly sinking presidential fortunes of the Pataki for President idea in an article entitled, Support for Pataki in Iowa up in smoke. The new Republican Party chairman in New York State, Joseph Mondello, refuses to support the Pataki for President campaign.

On the blogfront, Hoffman’s Hearsay advises Pataki, “Don’t bother man, just ride off into the sunset like a good boy.” The Rock Town Blog comments, “Rumors of New York State Governor George Pataki’s larger ambitions are nothing new and have swirled for years. The real news would be if he actually had a chance.”

From the way it’s looking so far, I’d guess that George Pataki will drop out of the presidential race before he even gets the chance to throw his hat in. However, self-delusion has always been one of Pataki’s dominant personality traints, so keep an eye out for Pataki, just in case.

The decision to go to war in Iraq, approved of by some American politicians, was one of the stupidest moves in modern American history. It wasn’t just a wrong decision, it was a horribly bad decision. This decision has needlessly hurt the country and the world.

To those who opposed the war in Iraq in the first place, we should grant the benefit of the doubt the next time an important issue comes along.

To those who waffled on the war in Iraq, we should offer our outstretched hand but be ready to run. We should listen very carefully to what these people say and don’t say.

To those who supported the war in Iraq, we should say, “You got the biggest decision of your career dead wrong. Why should we ever, ever trust your judgment again?”

The death of 100 million Americans began this week with a roar in our rugged Rocky Mountains. There, two mountain lions infected with bubonic plague were found. They were already dead… as if they were meant to be found that way, by our most valuable class of citizens: Scientists with extensive technical expertise.

Consider this: If those two dead mountain lions with bubonic plauge were found by accident, then how many must be roaming around across America now, with fangs bared, just ill enough to wander into town and just strong enough to draw blood upon attacking human beings?

A lot, that’s how many, and that’s a big number!

You know what a synonym for animal is? Fiend. Fiend! This is, by definition, a fiendish plot.

Now just who would engage in a fiendish plot to spread a biological weapon like bubonic plague across the United States? The terrorists, that’s who. Clearly, this is a purposeful attack on the USA by terrorists, using infected cougars with open sores and bloody fangs to create a new plague, a Black Death to sweep across the lower 48 and Alaska.

Think about this: The last time the Black Death hit humanity, it killed about one third of everyone living in Europe and Asia. Surely, it death rate will be the same this time around, if it hasn’t gotten even worse. That’s 100 million Americans who are going to die, at a minimum.

We have seen the beginning of the death of America as we know it!

On December 3, 1907, President Theodore Roosevelt wrote in a message to Congress, “Optimism is a good characteristic, but if carried to an excess, it becomes foolishness. We are prone to speak of the resources of this country as inexhaustible. This is not so.”

I think of this statement as I read the headline of the latest issue of Positive News: Peace Is Inevitable.

I wish it would be so, but the plain truth is that peace is not inevitable. If peace were inevitable, we would all have to do nothing but sit back and watch it happen, and no matter how hard the warmongers worked to create new armed conflicts, they would be unable to do so.

War is not inevitable, but neither is peace. Those who publish Positive News have passed the threshold from reasonable optimism into foolishness.

I understand what the people at Positive News are trying to do, emphasizing good things that are happening all around the world, and perhaps if one attends a peace conference in the beautiful city of Vancouver, one might really believe for a brief while that peace is inevitable.

Yet, the problem of bad news is really not in the telling of the bad news itself. We will not make the world a better place just by talking about the world as if it is a good place. Good news itself doesn’t make the world better.

Despair is not called for, but neither is dishonest optimism. Assessing the chances of progress realistically helps us know where we have to begin, so that we don’t start with a victory lap for peace and enlightenment while the struggle is still going strong.

Well I’ve gone for a vacation to see my friends in the United Kingdom and have since returned home to the USA. What have I found out on my trip there? Lots of big things (rationality for the most part) and some small things (including tax in the listed prices). I’ve found different attitudes as well; people don’t feel a need to run their mouths like Americans do while at the same time I didn’t feel ignored like I do walking down the streets in the USA. It’s really a change from the things I’m used to. Statistically I believe the UK has more CCTV cameras than any other nation in Europe and yet I didn’t feel like I was being spied upon like I do here in the USA. These are things people don’t usually think about until they see a new country.

But there are other topics I’d like to talk about; a couple of which I’m sure will get the CIA on my ass.

When I got home I found a packet waiting for me. It was from an e-bay order I’d placed before I left. I now have a big old 3′x5′ USSR flag hanging up on my bedroom wall. Now allow me to re-print what I’ve already posted on an online journal I keep regarding this flag.

I don’t like what the USSR did to the people in its territory, nor do I like what Stalin did during his time in office. These things, these human rights violations, disgust me.

The reason I display this flag in my room is because it is easily recognized as a communist symbol. I, myself, am a democratic socialist but because there are no socialist flags that can be quickly recognized, and because socialism and communism are so closely related, I display the hammer and sickle because it is the closest thing that mirrors my political and economic views. Then, when someone questions its presence, I can take the time to explain it to them (like I am now doing).

I don’t mean to offend anyone by hanging up this flag (unless they start bitching me out about it while making no valid points against it [or unless I don’t like them anyway]), I am merely stating a political and economic view.

…that and it looks cool.

Now, what else do I want to talk about? Ahh, a movie I’m fond of: Silent Hill. Has anyone bothered to watch this film? It’s a movie adaptation of a video game (don’t groan yet) and I’ve found it to be one of, if not the best game adaptations I’ve ever seen. It holds to the game’s atmosphere while also exploring new themes. It’s a film I’d recommend to those who even aren’t fond of video games, just keep in mind that it’s a horror film and likely not something you’ll want to show to your kids if you don’t enjoy them seeing people getting killed.

It also has a theme that I have dubbed “Christianity Run Amok” as well as a scene that I call “The Almighty Titty Twister.” If you decide to see the movie, you’ll know it when you see it. To those of you who have seen it, try not to give away any spoilers.

In other news I’ve also been taking an interest in photography as well. I still enjoy target shooting with firearms and the two share commonalties but I also find it nice to be able to capture my target on film rather than blowing holes in it. Though photography doesn’t give that adrenaline rush that the contained explosions of target shooting gives. Still, fun times are to be had by both.

Well, I think I’m going to wrap this up. I know this doesn’t really have anything to do with politics or religion, but to tell the truth I’ve found the subject of both to be…depressing. I wanted to talk about some other things tonight, things of a more personal nature because…well, I’m not gonna yank a reason out of my ass, I just wanted to talk about something else for a change. I’ll be back to my political and religious stuffs in my next post.

Unity of Religions

The correlation of the scriptures of various religions was done in a detailed way by several prophets who aimed at the world peace. Even I have done this correlation in major topics like human rebirth, concept of human incarnation etc. The effect of such correlation is not much because the devotees of various religions are neither influenced by the unity of the scriptures nor by the unity of human beings having the same bodies of matter and energy externally and the internal souls made of the same pure awareness.

Scriptures are the concepts given by various forms of God. Devotees feel that these forms of God are totally different from each other. Unless you bring the correlation of the various forms of God belonging to different religions, the problem is not solved in the root. You have to come from top to bottom in the solution for difference. The correlation of unity in the scriptures and in the human beings is an attempt of solving the problem from bottom to top. If you can prove the unity of the forms of God and establish the concept of single God in various religions, the scriptures have to be correlated forcibly because one God cannot speak contradicting concepts in various religions.

Like this if you come from the top for the solution, there is always a tremendous binding force acting on the heads of devotees to correlate the scriptures. Even if some little variations exist in the scriptures, they have to be unified by force in the light of unity of God, who is the single speaker of various scriptures.

The prediction of Noster Damus is going to become true soon

The logic behind the unity of God in various forms related to the corresponding religions is already given by Me in the “conversation of Swami with a Christian father.” The analysis presented by Me in that topic is a terrible binding force of various religions. By correlation of the scriptures, if you try to establish the unity of speaker, analysts may not accept it. They may say that the concepts of different speakers may some times coincide and that does not necessarily mean that the speakers should be one and the same.

The minor differences in the scriptures which were followed by God depending on the various levels of the corresponding communities, the various cultures of different regions also get magnified to be used to differentiate the speakers. When the speakers are different, the devotees will not be united because they believe that their particular unique preacher was only the savior. Therefore, you must start with the final weapon to establish the unity of God as established by Me in that topic. You have to attack the virus and bacteria at the very outset itself by a single stroke. With the help of its continued effect, the subsequent steps of uniting the human beings become very easy and also inevitable.

If your God is the only creator of this entire earth, He becomes partial by giving the right knowledge to your region only when other regions were not having any communications with your region. In such case, our forefathers went to hell for no fault of their ignorance about your God and His scripture given to you alone in that time. This concept acts like the Brahmaastra and will have the posterior effect continuously in your effort of uniting the devotees of various religions. The subsequent unity of scriptures is forced by the logic of this single concept and the unity of the scriptures becomes inevitable because no religion can accept the blind partiality of God, since their God is the father of all the souls on this earth.

The absence of human rebirth in the other religions supports the inevitable injustice done to the forefathers since there is no chance of their coming back to this earth again in human forms. There is no chance for them to rectify their ignorance since their human birth was finished once for all which can not be repeated again under any circumstances. The concept of permanent hell also supports this point, since those forefathers can never be relieved form the permanent hell. When we propagated this powerful logic, one Christian unable to answer this point by logic, shouted saying “Let God be partial, but I will not accept the Universal Spirituality”!

Such conservative devotee need not be blamed and in fact, we pity him for the power of poison injected in to his brain by the blind tradition of the ignorant priests from generations together! Conservative devotees may not accept the truth today which is exposed with perfect logic and analysis from all angles. But in course of time, this powerful truth will work and drill their brains and a day will come when the permanent transformation of all the human beings takes place and the dream of Universal Spirituality is sure to become a practical reality and the consequence is the establishment of world peace for ever.

Those who participate in the propagation of this divine knowledge are also blessed by God forever because they have done the work of God which is going to be eternal. The prediction of the Universal Spirituality on this earth by Noster Damus is going to become true shortly, since that prediction was from God only through him.

Bin Laden tried to kill Christians and Hindus in America

You take a group of devotees having the common form of God like Krishna or Jesus. All of them get strongly united and all of them fear to harm any other devotee because their common God will punish them for the sin. A Christian will fear deeply to harm another Christian but will not care so much to harm a follower of other religion. The reason is that in harming another Christian, he is sure of the punishment from Jesus. But when he harms a person of other religion, he does not fear so much since he has no faith in that form of God of other religion. He believes only Jesus as the only absolute God.

Bin Laden tried to kill Christians and Hindus in America because he believes in Allah only as the God. For this basic reason only he never attempted to kill people in any Muslim country. I am not referring to anyone particularly. This is a common disease of all the ignorant people present in any religion. Suppose Laden believed in the Universal Spirituality and realized that Jesus and Krishna are also other forms of the same Allah, will he do such crime to the people of other religions? This question applies not only to Laden but also applies to all fanatic Ladens present in all religions.

Establishment of Universal Spirituality

Leaving the concept of the central Lord who is the ruler of the souls, breathing exercises (Pranayama), meditation upon the soul, self-realization etc., are only beating around the bush. Without the logical establishment of the concept of one God in all the religions, Universal Spirituality, one family of all the human beings, world peace etc are only the illusory castles or the real castles built upon the ground without the foundation. All such aims will be either unreal or temporary realities only in practice.

One may achieve the oneness of the human beings temporarily during the time of his preaching the audience. Such oneness is like the oneness of human beings achieved during the deep sleep of all the human beings for which no trace of preaching is required. When you ask all to love each other without hatred, it is impractical in the practical life of ordinary human beings. The preacher is a saint and has no interaction with society that can lead to anger and hatred. But I am an employee doing my duties sincerely without any trace of corruption.

But several ignorant people are angry with me for not favoring them and become my enemies in spite of my several appeals. It is easy to preach the Universal Brotherhood for a saint but it is impossible to practice it for an ordinary employee in the world. What is the solution for this? The only solution is to attack this issue at the level of intelligence by analysis and there is no use of attempting at the level of mind with love and appeal. The intelligence (Buddhi) is the driver of the body (Vehicle) and leads the soul (Owner). You have to guide the driver and not the inert vehicle or the incapable owner.

If you can establish the concept of one God in all religions and convince all the drivers of the human bodies, the unity and peace is sure to come forever.

Shri Datta Swami:Nostradamus’s Great Genius

Michel Nostradamus was a brilliant French prophet and physician of the 16th century. He made deeply insightful prophecies in the form of encrypted verses called as quatrains. Large portions of his prophecies have come true. In his letters to his son César Nostradamus and King Henry II of France, he clearly revealed that his prophecies were divinely inspired. He was a great devotee and made these prophecies on the command of God. He had a sound knowledge of astrology and planetary movements. Although the visions were natural or instinctive to him, he integrated them with astrological calculations and planetary events. However, he lived in the troubled times of the Inquisition. To avoid persecution and the hatred of evil people, he codified the prophecies into obscure verses such that their literal meaning hardly makes any sense. The language used by Nostradamus was highly symbolic and he often additionally encrypted his prophecies by the use of anagrams, scrambling the order of events, using different languages, etc.

He admitted that he knew and saw much more than what he wrote. However he did not reveal all that to the public since the majority was not prepared to understand all that he had to say in the right spirit. Thus today we have only a small fraction of what Nostradamus saw; the rest was censored by him due to its unsuitability for the public and due to the inevitable negative reaction of political and religious leaders towards predicted future changes.

The censored part was not simply details of future events as one may be tempted to think but it also contained the philosophical content, which formed the background of the future events. It was mainly this philosophical content that Nostradamus was afraid of revealing in his time of the Inquisition, when anything different from what was accepted by the Church, would be quickly branded as heresy. Thus when we read his quatrains, especially those with some philosophical significance, we have to be sensitive not only to what is said but also to what is left unsaid.

Numerous authors, thinkers and amateurs have delved into the details of these quatrains, sifting for some clue to the unraveling of critical future events and personalities such as World War III, the Antichrist, changes in world politics and global catastrophes. However the prophecy that is most spectacular and has the potential for maximum benefit to humanity is the prophecy of the Great Genius.
There is considerable agreement that a great scholar will emerge from the land bounded by three seas. He will be well versed in the scriptures and science and Thursday will be holy to him (cI-50). He will uproot fanaticism and establish his spiritual philosophy (cIII-95). This quite obviously indicates that the said scholar will be a Hindu from India . Contrary to some opinions, He will not be a military general. His conquests will not be military conquests but they will be philosophical conquests—spiritual conquests. With His compelling philosophy He will demolish all fanaticism, rigidity and misinterpreted twists in all religions. A significantly noteworthy point is that He will not only correlate all the world religions, but He will also correlate science and spirituality and establish a universal spiritual philosophy (cVII-14). Although Nostradamus has accurately predicted some of these details of the Great Genius, he has left a great deal unsaid about the identity of this Great One.

Away from the din of contradicting opinions and speculations among commentators and scholars, about the identity and time of arrival of the Great Genius, He has already taken birth. True to prophecy, He was born in a small town in south India (peninsular India ) and is a great scholar of the Hindu scriptures and the scriptures of other religions. He is also a scientist and a professor. However, he is not an ordinary scientist or scholar of the scriptures. He is known to His closest devotees as an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya.

Lord Dattatreya (Datta) is God in the three forms, Creator, Maintainer and Destroyer of creation. This God, who is beyond creation manifests through a human form called as a human incarnation or Avatara. Thus God gives Himself to His devotees. Datta is this God who is ‘given’ to His devotees in the form of an incarnation. Thursday is the day that is particularly auspicious for the worship of Lord Datta. This Great Genius, who is an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya, is known as His Holiness Shri Datta Swami. Shri Datta Swami has preached Divine Knowledge that is so revolutionary and outstanding that highly elevated spiritual souls and scholars and have declared that such knowledge has never been revealed before to mankind. His Divine Knowledge consists of a logical and scientific analysis of the knowledge given in the scriptures and which supports experience. It explains the nature of the soul, the spiritual goal, which is God, and the path to reach Him. Complete assimilation of this knowledge leads to devotion and service, which brings the ultimate grace of God.

In the past, the coming of Christ, the Savior was similarly prophesied by prophets before Him. Their prophecies were also in a symbolic language. But many people took the prophecies literally. When the Christ actually came, He was neither a king nor a freedom fighter who would free the Jews from the tyrannical Roman rule. He neither established a kingdom of the Jews nor did He destroy the Roman Empire . He was a king in the symbolic sense. In fact He was the King of kings. He established the kingdom of God on earth. He freed people from the slavery of ignorance. The Christ came, accomplished His mission on earth as per the prophecies and went back to the heavenly abode. Two thousand years have passed since; yet some ignorant people have still not recognized Him. They are still waiting for the Savior to come!

We are in a similar situation today. The prediction of the Great Genius is in a highly symbolic and encrypted language. Mature and sensitive people quickly grasp the inner meaning of prophecies and scriptures. Rigid and immature people lack insight and are under the grip of ego and jealousy. They insist on the literal meaning, however ridiculous, and refuse to accept the reality that is staring them in the face. The prophecy of Nostradamus is not scripture. However prophecies similar to the prophecy of the Great Genius occur in many scriptures. This is indeed the same as the second coming of the Christ mentioned in the Bible and the incarnation of Kalki mentioned in the Hindu scriptures. In these scriptures again, similar symbolic language is used. Whether it is the prophecy of Nostradamus or the words of the scripture, ignorant people are sure to miss the real meaning. They fail to derive any benefit out of it.

The Divine Personality of Shri Datta Swami and His Divine Knowledge require no support from either prophets or scriptures. God is self-resplendent and requires no flickering candles and torches to illuminate Him. But our tiny minds require the crutches of scriptures, prophecies, logic and miracles. God in all His divine kindness has provided all these supports for us. While preaching His Divine Knowledge, Shri Datta Swami not only quotes from various scriptures but also correlates crucial philosophical concepts among different scriptures (cVII-14). In the past, adequate clarity and correlation of many such concepts was not provided. Hence there were many contradictions between different philosophies and religions. The greatest achievement was the correlation of science with spirituality. Many preachers and scientists have attempted this correlation in the recent past; but none can compare with the outstanding philosophy of Shri Datta Swami. A careful reader who reads and analyzes with patience, will soon see the wonderful panoramic picture—a coherent universal philosophy—that emerges from the teaching of Shri Datta Swami. It addresses all the main aspects required in a universal philosophy:

? Unimaginable Absolute God who is beyond creation,
? The primordial cosmic energy which is the basic fabric of the entire creation,
? Science, which is the analysis of this energy and its different manifestations, which are matter, energy and awareness.
? The science of miracles: evidence of the inexplicable powers of God (cIII-2).
? The soul, its nature, its spiritual effort and its approach to God
? The spiritual path that includes Divine Knowledge, devotion and service to God.
? The worldly path, which includes the interaction of an individual with society and the laws governing it.
? Correlation of the philosophies of different religions and science

This is the real Grand Unified Theory. The grand unified theory that the physicists hope to achieve is far from a complete and comprehensive theory. It does not include philosophy, God, scriptures or even the soul. It is restricted only to the material world. At the most it can be called a partial theory. The universal philosophy given by Shri Datta Swami will form the framework of analysis of scientists and philosophers of the future. Within this framework, both scientists and philosophers will have adequate scope to investigate further and ‘fill in the details’.

We are most fortunate to be living in this great age. Yes, the world is plagued by terrible injustice, oppression, degradation of values and suffering. But behold, the Great Genius has arrived! Christ has returned—in flesh! Bhagawan Kalki has incarnated! He has come riding the swift white horse of modern electronic communication, which travels at lightening speed. He holds the blazing sword of Divine Knowledge and chops off the heads of ignorance in people’s minds. He will establish permanent world peace. He will fulfill all the scriptures and religions of the world and end the gap between science and spirituality.

Liberated souls affected with ego

Even a permanent employee should be alert of his duties and service. He is not an exception to the normal procedure. Ofcourse, the Lord alerts him often through his or her soul by giving memos. If the liberated soul does not care due to ego, it will cross the border of the inner circle and will be mixed with the general public. Of course, due to the strength of the samskara, the soul is expected to return back after realization. The soul will not come back as long as its ego continues. After all, even a liberated soul is also a soul and not God. Even the permanent employee is an employee only and not employer.

Narada, the top most devotee was involved in a human birth when ego entered him. Sudarshana is a similar case who was born as Kartaviryaarjuna. They returned back after the end of their ego. The only exceptional cases of liberated souls, who never crossed the inner circle of God, are Hanuman and Radha. When ego enters the heart of the liberated soul, the heart itself will show the raise in the temperature like thermometer.

The liberated soul has enough knowledge to note the raise in temperature and is not a child for which only some elders note the fever and give medicine. A grown up person approaches doctor for treatment. Similarly, the liberated soul approaches the Satguru for treatment. The liberated soul is well talented in the diagnosis. The human beings are having different proportions of the three qualities. In the old generations, a human being has a fixed ratio of the three qualities through out its life.

My goodness, but the divine have fast fingers. What else can explain dattaswami’s ability to post so many diaries with so many paragraphs in so few minutes?

I’ve decided that if he can be so spiritually in tune at such a fast pace, I must have a spark of the divine in me, too. And if I have a spark of the divine, the fruit of my own loins must carry it as well. I’ve asked my kids to supply Mad Libs words — nouns, verbs, pronouns, adverbs and the like — with the idea that these innocents surely will speak the truth. Dattaswami’s text provides the ground from which their wisdom will spring like aggressive kudzu on a moist summer’s day.

Here are the results. How inspirational.

Remember the boy band Hanson from the 1990s, the slapped together band of three teenage brothers who played shamelessly bubbly popular music? Think back to the song Mmmm Bop. Did I get the right number of Ms in the title?

Anyway, Hanson is still around, and they’ve recently done a little something that’s worthy of note. They’ve tried to use their boy band power for good.

The three brothers wrote a song called The Great Divide, and agreed to donate all of the profits from the download of the song from ITunes to the Perinatal HIV Research Unit in Soweto, South Africa.

Whatever you think about the quality of Hanson’s music, making this effort is a great thing for them to do. Sure, it brings Hanson extra publicity, which is needed now that Hanson is not really a boy band anymore. They’re a young man band, I guess, which tends to thrill the 12 year-old girl market not quite so much. Still, that publicity is deserved, isn’t it?

I’ll tell you the truth about The Great Divide: I watched the video, and I wasn’t really impressed by the music. Nonetheless, I thank Hanson for making the song available. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have found out about the Perinatal HIV Research Unit.

I’d like to be able to say that, because of finding out about the unit, I’ve made a donation to support their work, but, unfortunately, I haven’t found a way on the organization’s web site to make an online donation. If anyone who can show me a way to send them money securely, I’d appreciate it. In the meantime, I’ll make a donation to UNICEF, which partners with the Perinatal HIV Research Unit, and does a heck of a lot of other good work to boot.

You see, as much as I respect Hanson’s motivations and work with The Great Divide, I just can’t stand the idea of putting the song in my ITunes library. Sorry, boys.
