Ron offered, as he does every time one of these medals comes up and he appreciates that person’s contribution to society, to contribute $100 out of his own personal funds to buy Rosa Parks a medal — if enough other congresscreeps would do the same to buy one without touching federal money. Funny thing, no one took him up on his offer. Who exactly gave the screw you?
It’s easy to be generous with other people’s money. Of course, that’s also the premise behind Social Security…
BTW, Ron is not in favor of abandoning the SocSec system immediately, but *is* in favor of opting out at will.
