Justifying Terrorism: Why Green Party Can’t Win

Who is this Dave Cyr knucklehead? Is he on the Green Party's electoral strategy committee? That would explain a thing or two about the Green Party's inability to even get the support of most American liberals.

Why don’t more people vote for the Green Party? That’s what radicals everywhere keep on asking.

Uh, could it be messages like this one, sent out today by New York State Green Party State Committee Member David Cyr, and now making the rounds as a forwarded email? In it, Cyr justifies the terrorist attack in Austin yesterday as a sane reaction to capitalism. Cyr writes:

Stack is being dismissed as a lunatic by the government media, and portrayed as a “right-wing” extremist by liberals. Read the full text of his post. His deep frustration is likely far more common than uncommon, and not particularly “right-wing” either. He just wasn’t able to compliantly cope any longer with an insane world. Stack’s final action said, “No Justice, No Peace!”

Joseph Andrew Stack flew an airplane into a building containing government offices. He committed an act of terrorism, plain and simple. He killed himself, and tried to kill others.

Yes, Davy Boy, Stack was insane – and so are you.

  Real Conservative, could you direct me to a copy of this e-mail with headers and all preserved? It has the whiff of something hoaxy about it, and I’d just like to verify its authenticity.

  Unfortunately, as this society collapses from the terminal rot Democrats refused to remove when they easily could have, we may eventually see a time when stories like Stack’s militant suicide, with either intentional or collateral damage murder(s) consequent, are no longer news worthy.

  However, liberals, who’ve apparently moved from pretending to be “progressives” to now pretending to be “real conservatives” will reliably continue to maintain the Problem as long as they possibly can, by attacking those few offering honest Solutions. Don’t waste your vote voting for Democrats who won’t do the good they could when they can. Vote Green in 2010… while you still can.

  Wait a minute, David – are you now depicting Joseph Stack’s suicide attack as an “honest solution”?!?

  Do you have no clue about the role that crazy words like yours keep the Green Party in the margins?

  Don’t waste our time voting for Democrats, when we could be voting for Greens like yourself who think that flying an airplane into office buildings with the intention of murder is not insane?

  Understanding why something occurs is not an advocacy for it to happen. Joe Stack was like the individual drop from the sky that gives warning that rain is coming.

  I participate in the Green Party because I understand the proper function of elections is to provide peaceful means to end injustices. I’m a Green because I believe elections should provide alternatives that promote actual change for good, rather than just two choices to maintain every evil.

  There will be more Joe Stacks for the same reason IEDs proliferate. The half of this nation’s people who do vote regularly provide 99% popular vote mandates to wage criminal military wars of aggression abroad, and to wage criminal economic wars of aggression everywhere. Joe Stack is not the sickness. He is a symptom of a sick society that is dependent upon perpetual war to provide periodic personal prosperity; a sick society dependent upon building prisons to provide jobs for a few while removing large numbers from the jobless statistics; a sick society dependent upon denial of healthcare to mandate insurance profitcare; a sick society dependent upon banksters dropping crumbs from the bread trucks they daily steal; a sick society with a dependence upon fossil fuels so addictive it’s like the habitual smoker who’s already lost his larynx and one lung, but still keeps smoking three packs a day.

  The electoral solidarity of liberal and conservative corporate party robo-voters routinely provides 99% mandates to maintain the sickness of this society. If those liberals and conservatives continue to mindlessly vote together for this or that management of the same policies unchanged, then the hastening of the terminal stage of this society’s malignancy will be assured… and as one of the natural consequences of those continued 99% mandates there will someday sooner than later come a hard pouring rain of Joe Stacks.

  Vote to heal this sick society. Vote Green.

  Hokay, so it turns out to not be a hoax.

  Joe Stack was upset that his scheme to not pay taxes didn’t work out, so he killed people. David, but I don’t go for the notion that Joe Stack’s behavior can be traced to the evils of a corporate-controlled society. His farewell letter reveals self-serving circular thinking, not a cogent critique of any kind. The guy needed an editor, not people to join in his crusade.

  People have been killing other people since people have been around. Some of the problems our society faces aren’t due to the organization of society. Some of the problems our society faces are due to the violent tendencies of the human species.
