Misery as a guidance in Spirituality

Misery as a guidance in Spirituality

The ignorant person invites happiness and wants to avoid misery with the help of God. The priests are exploiting this at a micro level and some of the present spiritual preachers are exploiting the same point at the macro level in a dignified way. A businessman exploits public at a micro level directly. A politician exploits the public at a macro level indirectly under the name of ‘social service’. Of course, there are good people in both categories doing a real social service. Sri Ramakrishna was a good priest and Swami Vivekananda was a good preacher.

The realized person invites misery and not happiness. Kunti asked Krishna for getting troubles always, which alone keep the person in devotion to God. Penance is a form of artificially creating misery only. In misery only, one becomes active and sincerely approaches God without egoism. Misery is the guiding force in spiritual journey.

The liberated soul, who came down in a role to this earth along with the Lord to enjoy this world-drama by direct participation invites both happiness and misery simultaneously like sweet and hot dishes in the meals. Anything bores if it is continuous. Entertainment does not bore even if it is continuous. But entertainment through continuous happiness or continuous misery bores. A picture either with continuous scenes of happiness or with continuous scenes of misery bores and the entertainment also bores.

Entertainment should be same as a product but the sources of entertainment should change. You cannot entertain yourself with continuous sweet dishes or continuous hot dishes. Such continuous entertainment is called Bliss or Ananda. The word Ananda means continuous happiness (Aa samantat Nandayati Iti). If the happiness is a product, it is continuous. If it is the source it is discontinuous. Therefore, you can be continuously happy, if your happiness is the product of alternating misery and happiness. You are happy, when you get happiness. But you should be happy when you get the misery also. You must enjoy both sweet and hot. You must be happy to praise and abuse, profit and loss, life and death, sincerity and cheating etc. This world is already arranged with these alternating sweet and hot items.

If you can enjoy both, you are always happy during your life and after death. This is the state of God and is also the state of a liberated soul, who accompanies the Lord to this world. The king visited the cinema along with his family. All the family members including the king enjoy both the happy scenes and tragic scenes. This is equality of the liberated soul with the God in the cinema hall. When the cinema is over, king is king and servant is servant.

Human Incarnations response

Human Incarnations response

When I say that I am the human incarnation of Lord Datta there are three types of people here. The first type of people is highest devotees and has conquered egoism and jealousy. For them the Lord pervades this human body as the wire is pervaded by the current. For them Advaita (Monoism) is suiting to their psychology and they can digest this. In fact they wanted to see, touch, talk and live with the Lord. To satisfy them the Lord came down and He is satisfying their desire through this Advaita. For them Lord Datta and Myself are one and the same.

The second type of people who conquered egoism and jealousy to certain extent and or my devotees need the ‘Visishta Advaita’, which speaks that the human incarnation is a spark of the Lord, who is the infinite fire. This philosophy speaks about part (Sesha) and whole (Seshi). The spark is qualitatively same as the fire and thus satisfies their devotion, but the spark is quantitatively different from the fire and this aspect satisfies their partial egoism and jealousy.

The third type of people is full of egoism and jealousy. For their psychology Dvaita should be exposed. For them the human incarnation is just two in one system. This human body is like the house and the Lord is dwelling inside this house as its owner. The house i.e., Myself is completely different from the house owner i.e., the Lord. No importance need be given to the house when the king comes and resides in a house. When there is no importance to this external human body their egoism is completely satisfied.

The first type of people bows to the temple from outside and they feel that they have bowed to the inner statue through the temple. The second type of people respect the temple to some extent and bow to the statue standing in the main door of the temple. The third type of the people do not care for the temple and feel that the temple is as good as their house. They go inside the temple and bow directly to the statue.

Gita said “Manusheem Tanum Aasritam”, which means that the Lord dwells in the human body in the case of human incarnation. This is Dvaita to satisfy the third type of people who are in majority in this world.

Gita also exposed ‘Visishtha Advaita’ to the second type of the people (Mama Tejomsa Sambhavam). Gita also spoke Advaita for the first type of people (Aham Aatma, Mattah parataram). If Advaita is preached to the third type of people, problems araise, which are mentioned in the same verse (Avajaanantimam). Thus Gita contains the total knowledge.

The Human incarnation is clearly mentioned in Vedas as ‘Vivrunute Tanoom’, which means that the Lord will reveal Himself to the devotees through the human body. Again Veda says “Yat Saakshaat Aparokshaat”, which means that the Lord appears before you and is not present somewhere else. The path of sacrifice of work (Karma Sanyasa) is mentioned by both Vedas (Kurvanneveha) and Gita (Kuru Karmaiva). The another part of the path, which is the sacrifice of the fruit of the work (Karmaphala Tyaga) is praised by Vedas (Thyakthena, Dhanena Tyagena) as well as by Gita (Phalam Tyaktva, Karma Phala Tyaagee). Whatever is found in Gita must exist in Vedas because Vedas are the cows and Gita is the milk milked from the cows.

MESSAGE OF SWAMI ON Good Friday

MESSAGE OF SWAMI ON Good Friday

My father and I are one and the same. Father means the Creator who is beyond words, mind, intelligence and even imagination. This Father is called as God and has different names. Christians call Him as Jehovah. Muslims call Him as ‘Allah’. Hindus call Him as ‘Para Brahma’. Buddha kept silent about the God because the God is beyond words. But followers of Buddha misunderstood the silence as negation and interpreted that Buddha denied God. This God incarnates on the earth. He creates a human body and pervades all over that human body as current pervades all over the metallic wire.

Since God created His human body for incarnation, the God is called as Father and the human incarnation is called as His Son. The electric wire is Current because wherever you touch the wire it gives the shock, which is the property of current. For all the practical purposes the electric wire is the current. Similarly the human incarnation is the Creator or God. Therefore the Son is the Father. The human incarnation can be seen by us and we can talk with Him. We can touch and can live along with the Son. Thus Vision, conversation, touch, and co-living are the four fortunes given to the devotees. By any human effort God cannot be even imagined. But by infinite kindness He is not only seen but also talks, touches and lives with us. If you cannot utilize such infinite kindness of God shown to us and if you neglect the human incarnation due to your egoism and jealousy you are loosing everything forever.

Neither you attain the unattainable God nor you retain the human incarnation that approaches you. You are looser on both sides. Such human incarnations come to various parts of the earth and they are Jesus, Krishna, Mohammed, Buddha, Mahavir etc., Therefore Jesus is Jehovah. Mohammed is Allah and Krishna is Parabrahma. The Electric wire is the current. The Son and the Father are one and the same. One should not extrapolate this truth by saying since every man is His Son and so every man is the Father. If every Son is the Father there is no necessity of preaching.

God has to come in human body only to preach the human beings. But there is natural repulsion between the human beings as in the case of like charged particles due to jealousy and egoism. The crusification of the Lord Jesus is the best example of such jealousy and egoism. Holy Jesus suffered for the sins of the real believers of God only. One of the basic ideas of the human incarnation is to suffer for the sins of deserving devotees. For such purpose only the human body is selected for incarnation. The human body of the incarnation suffers like any other human body. Then only the real transfer of sins is fully justified. The incarnation can avoid the pain during suffering by using the super power of God.

But God never deceives the justice. Therefore Jesus really suffered all the punishments of deserving devotees as any other human body suffers and fulfilled the justice in the transfer of sins. This is the real reason why the God selects a human body and gets identified with it. If it is inert statue such suffering cannot take place. Though the Son is suffering on the Holy Cross, but actually the Father who pervaded all over the Son suffered. This is the essence of saying that Father and Son are one and the same. The Father does not suffer for the sins of the wicked people who will not change at all. Those who are the real devotees and those who served the Lord without aspiring anything in return are only liberated from their sins.

Such devotees never pray the Lord for the liberation from their sins because they never desire that the Lord should suffer for their sins. Therefore, they never agree for the liberation from their sins. If they come to know they will object such transfer of sins because they are the real devotees of the God. Hence the Lord suffers for their sins without any information to them. If you are not turning towards the Lord, you have to carry all your sins with you and go to hell. If you turn towards the Lord, He will liberate you from all your sins provided you change and continue your future life in His divine service. His work is to bring peace in this world and see that every human being gets the salvation. He wants the hell to be permanently closed. But you should turn towards God without aspiring for your liberation from the sins.

You must participate in His service and yet you should be ready to undergo the punishments of your sins as per the rule. You should not ask Him or even desire for such liberation from your sins. Once you desire for such liberation you are indirectly asking the Lord to suffer for your sins. In such a case you are not His real devotee. He takes your sins and liberates you when you serve Him without any aspiration for such liberation.

The human incarnation comes in every generation

The human incarnation comes in every generation

The human incarnation comes in every generation but you are not coming in every generation. The rebirth as human being is almost impossible and completely impossible as per Christianity. In such case you are having only one chance to contact the human incarnation present in your generation. If you miss this, never again this luck comes. The next meeting with God is direct where He acts as judge. Therefore, there is no second coming of Jesus for you and you will meet God finally only.

In this way the second coming of Jesus at the end can be understood. But if you say that you cannot meet the human incarnation in your present generation, you are not having the opportunity even for once. In such case, why a particular generation in which God came in human form as Jesus was only blessed? They had the extra fortune and this means God is partial to that generation. Therefore, every person in every generation will have the equal chance of coming in contact with the human incarnation once in his or her life and the final contact with God in the energetic form as judge.

Therefore, the impartial God comes again and again for every generation (Yada Yada hi…..Gita) but you are not having the chance to meet the human incarnation again since you have no human rebirth. One may get the human rebirth in extreme exceptional situation and you should not depend on that because it involves high risk. The human birth, the urge for salvation and coming in contact with the human incarnation are the three real fortunes and the importance increases from left to right in the order. Therefore, simply having the human birth and having the urge by taking orange robe are not sufficient.

Unless you contact the Lord in human form and get the right knowledge for correct implementation, every thing is waste (Manushyatvam Mumukshatvam, Mahapurasha Samsrayah, Durlabham—Sankara). There is no quarrel if you say that the second coming of Jesus is only at the end because every one is having the equal chance. But if you say that I have to worship the past human incarnation only even in the present generation, then the equal opportunity is not given to Me when I am compared to the human being present in that generation in which Jesus came directly and clarified all the doubts face to face. I must have such equal privilege and here the quarrel comes with you since you deny the equal opportunity.

The second coming is final with respect to every human being but not with respect to God because in such case several human generations miss the chance of direct contact with God in human form except that one particular human generation. Even if you say that Jesus told that His second coming is only final, it is true with respect to every human being and not with respect to Him. You have misinterpreted this statement by extending it with reference to Jesus also because you want to exploit the people in the name of past Jesus and get personal fame and other facilities from the devotees. You are in no way different from the priests present in that time of Jesus.

Both of you do not admit the human form of Lord. Both of you keep the past which is invisible (invisible Jebhova or invisible Jesus) before the devotees and earn money and fame. The only difference between you both is that that priest got Jesus killed through the court and you cannot do that in the present time. The repulsion towards the human form before eyes is common to both the priests and devotees. But in the case priests there is an extra factor that they may lose fame and offerings from the devotees because they get benefited standing at the back ground of the invisible form of God or inert form of God.

In the case of devotees, this extra factor does not exist because they are prepared to sacrifice for God and they are not losing since they do not receive. Any Guru or Priest immediately resists human form of God based on these two factors since he fears that the human form may get the fame or their offerings. Thus, there is political, economical and social issue of psychology in this spiritual line. Attraction to fame and money associated with jealously and egoism is the main back ground and Lord Datta brings out the truth that is buried up to any depth. All the details of truth are known to the omniscient God. Veda says that the knowledge of God is always based on truth (Satyam Jnamam).

Food ,Space and Soul- As per Veda

Food ,Space and Soul- As per Veda

Food is inert matter (Annam) and on oxidation (Prana), it produces inert energy. This energy is converted into awareness or chit. The Veda says ‘Annat purushah’. This inert energy is transformed into soul and this inert energy maintains the entire world as cosmic energy (Jeeva bhutam…the Gita). The Veda says that space is produced from soul. Here soul denotes inert energy only, which is its basic form. Therefore, the space is also inert. Otherwise space should have been a living being with awareness. According to Einstein space is geometrical only and exists as long as matter exists. But space is geometrical required for the waves to occupy and propagate. So, even if all the matter is converted into energy, space can still exist. As long as space exists energy has to exist because space is also a form of energy. Of course, if you speak of energy also in terms of matter, you can say that space exists as long as matter exists.

The condensed energy is matter. This means energy can be diluted and so energy or space expands. This represents the theory of constant expansion of space. In Maha Pralaya, the design of the world exists which needs space. If only awareness disappears by destruction of all living beings, it is called as Pralaya. If all the matter disappears leaving energy, it is Maha Pralaya. Disappearance of matter means transformation of matter into energy. Similarly disappearance of awareness means transformation of awareness into inert energy. Up to this concept both God and energy exist like Father and mother. Up to this, both inference (philosophy) and perception (science) travel together like parents. The follower of Shakti cult (Shakteya) says that the energy itself is God and thus he is just the present scientist. He is better than Advaitin, who says that awareness is God. Even in Maha Pralaya at least energy exists.

Awareness disappears even in Pralaya. Of course both these become one and the same if the awareness is also considered as energy basically. Both these depend on perception only. They too depend upon inference, but their inference is based on perception. The fire is inferred from smoke, because the relationship of fire and smoke is already seen (perception) in kitchen. Therefore awareness, the inferred God by Advaitin is imaginable and even perceivable through intricate modern instruments. Such inference is based on perception only. The inference of God should be based on scriptures like the Veda. The interaction of Father and mother is inferred by seeing the interaction of a couple later on. Such inference is perception based. But the interaction of God is never perceived, because God is never perceived since God is beyond even the imagination. Maha Karana Pralaya represents the dissolution of energy completely, which means the disappearance of space. The situation becomes unimaginable. The space of the dream disappears but still the brain exists in the absolute space.

The mind (nervous energy) requires absolute space for existence. Thus existence of absolute space (Paramavyoma) is required for the existence of God. Since no item in the creation can stand as perfect representative of God, this problem comes. The existence of Paramavyoma again speaks about the existence of energy in more subtle form. The dissolution of energy to the fullest extent leads to complete unimaginable situation, which was exactly the situation before creation. Such a great devotee leaves the science and perception completely. He believes only in the Veda. He believes only in God as the absolute cause every time after Maha Pralaya. Such a great devotee never falls as he depends only on God as the root of root cause (Maha karanam). Jesus believed God in such a way.

Shankara’s advaita is actually this concept only. An atheist cannot travel to this distance and so He (Shankara) stopped at the concept of awareness only so that every atheist is attracted and feels that the absolute is in him and finally he can become the absolute God. Even the concept of Pralaya is not brought here and awareness was declared as eternal. For the sake of a theist, awareness is eternal and remains in deep sleep and also in Pralaya. But the atheist should realize that awareness is not present in deep sleep since one is not aware of even the soul, which is awareness of awareness as found in meditation. The enquiry of the source of ‘I’, which represents the fundamental characteristic of awareness in deep sleep reveals the whole story. The inert energy is the source of ‘I’ as realized from the analysis of deep sleep.

Secret of creation

Secret of creation

This world is essentially a homogeneous phase of inert energy, which is space as the finest form of energy. The creation comes from space or finest energy. The space has come from God. This is explained by Veda (Atmana Akasah). The space or the finest energy is called as Mahat, which is infinite. From the space all the world gradually comes out by the will of God. Even the space came out from God by His will only. If you do not recognize God, the energy being inert cannot plan the creation. The link between God and this space (Mahat) is unimaginable and is stated as Avyaktam. Veda mentions this unimaginability (Avyaktam) as the intermediate item between God and Mahat (Mahatah Paramavyaktam…).

You should not fix this Avyaktam to a particular item only. It is simply a word which means unimaginable and can be used in any context to mean any item by anybody. Suppose a student is unable to understand the higher concept. For him such concept is unimaginable. Therefore the word unimaginable (Avyaktam) has a general sense and can be used in any context. This word is also used to the subtle and invisible state of the world in the energy as a micro impression also after the final dissolution of the world. Similarly the word Brahman can be used to any greatest item depending on the context. It can indicate anybody starting from God to the head of a village. Veda says that God is beyond this link (Avyaktat Purushah Parah). Space is imaginable but God is unimaginable.

Therefore the link between unimaginable God and imaginable Mahat also becomes unimaginable. Only the link between two imaginable items is imaginable and can be understood. The unimaginability is experienced and the unimaginable God identified with the perceivable human incarnation is experienced. Therefore the concept of unimaginability is proved by the basic validity of authority through experience and perception. Veda says that you can see God (Pratyagatmanamaikshat). If Lord Krishna or Jesus is not seen and if they do not establish the concept of unimaginability through their actions, the existence of unimaginable God can be ruled out. Since there is only one Krishna or only one Jesus, you cannot say that every living being or human being is that unimaginable God. Such dilution is only the effect of egoistic demonism.

The first form of creation is energy. All the other items are the modifications of that energy only. All the modifications may perish but energy remains eternal due to the will of God. It is like the reel of the film containing the whole picture after the dissolution of the world. No fool will destroy the reel at the end of the show. Therefore the reel is eternal. But its eternality is based on the will of God. If God wishes, even the energy disappears. The reel is not destroyed but can be destroyed.

Such eternal finest form of energy is called as Mahat by Veda and is called as Mahat-Brahma by Gita (Mamayonih Mahat-Brahma). The Shastras say that Mahat itself means Brahman (Mahat Brahma iti proktam). When the will of God is withdrawn, this entire world along with the souls and their corresponding attributes become a static impression on the inert energy and is retained in the state of Avyaktam. In this state both good and bad attributes or feelings are static and inert and therefore become equal. A good deed painted as a picture on a paper is equal to a bad deed painted on a paper. There is no difference between good and bad in this state. This is the equilibrium state of the good (Sattvam) and bad (Rajas and Tamas) qualities before and after the creation. This is the meaning of the equilibrium state of the three qualities as mentioned in the Sankhya philosophy.

If the qualities are associated with awareness, certainly a bad feeling or a bad action cannot be equal to a good feeling or a good action. The equilibrium state certainly means the state of the good and bad qualities as inert impressions in the basic phase of inert energy. Such a state results in the deep sleep. This finest primary energy is called as Mula Maya or Mahat-Brahma or Karya-Brahma or Hiranya-Garbha. Since it is the first greatest item of creation and since it is infinite, it is called as Mahat-Brahma. Since it is the generated product or effect, it is called as Karya-Brahma. Since God is hidden as root cause in this energy, it is called as Hiranya-Garbha. The word Hiranya indicates the most precious God and the word Garbha indicates the unimaginability of God. It is called as Mula Maya because it is the root cause of this universe up to which only one can analyze. God is called as Mula Mulam which means the root of the root. The word Maya means the wonderful capability or potentiality of this energy by the will of God. This energy again stands as the medium for the will of God. The wonderful design of the world created by this energy indicates the wonderful will of God.

No soul can cross this Mula Maya because the soul can be transformed into this basic inert energy at the maximum. It cannot be beyond itself. Only God who is the generator of this energy can be the original creator. The modifications of this energy like matter, awareness, light etc. constitute the second plane called as Maha Maya. A soul can cross this Maha Maya at the maximum. He can create matter from the existing inert energy. He can create awareness (life) from the existing inert energy. He can create light, heat etc. from this inert energy. These are the super natural powers which are responsible for miracles (Ashta siddhis). He cannot create the primary energy and thus cannot be the original creator. He is the creator at the secondary level and therefore can be called as secondary creator. In the third level, the feelings are generated from the awareness. The forms are generated from the matter.

These forms and feelings constitute the third level called as Maya. Any soul has the power to cross this Maya. Anybody can produce any form from the matter. Anybody can produce any feeling from his awareness. When a devotee blessed by God with super powers has created a golden pot, it indicates his level beyond the third and second planes. The gold is produced from the existing energy and this shows that he controlled the Maha Maya. When that pot is produced from that Gold that shows that he controlled Maya. But he cannot create the primary energy from which the gold and pot are produced. At this point you cannot differentiate the human incarnation from a devotee. If the human incarnation has to produce this primary energy, first He must dissolve all the existing primary energy. After such dissolution, the soul disappears.

You cannot exist to see the creation of that primary energy. Even after the creation of primary energy, you are existing as an inert impression in the inert energy and thus cannot understand anything. Only when this primary energy is transformed into awareness, you are able to understand anything. Therefore the transformation of inert energy into awareness cannot be also understood by you in the process of creation. You can only understand this transformation by observing the dissolution of awareness on stopping the supply of inert energy in the form of food. Therefore any devotee can be blessed to cross Maya and Maha Maya at the most but can never cross Mula Maya because in such state the souls disappear along with the entire universe. When Lord Krishna was taking the parched rice form Sudama, Rukmini restricted the Lord while taking the rice for the third time. If Lord takes the rice for the third time also Sudama will cross the Mula Maya and will become the original creator, manager and destroyer of the primary energy.

A soul being the primary energy in its essential form cannot go beyond the very inert energy. Therefore it is impossible for any soul to create, manage and destroy the Mula Maya. Sudama was blessed to cross the two levels of Maya and Maha Maya. When he crossed the first level, he crossed the illusion of forms and qualities while living with them. When he crossed the second level, he attained all the superpowers. The Lord was ready to give up the original creatorship also, but since the soul cannot perform that activity, it was restricted. When the Lord is prepared to become your servant through your practical devotion, what is the necessity of becoming the Lord? When the doctor is becoming your servant to perform the operation, why should you wish to become the doctor? When you can attain the higher fruit than Advaita, what is the necessity of aiming at Advaita, in which state you have to perform the tremendous duties of creation, management and dissolution of the universe? Such duties are impossible to any soul and are also unnecessary headache, when there is a possibility of becoming the master of God through the real, practical devotion. God becomes servant of His servants.

A human being is exactly regenerated by science, today, in the form of a robot. Several microprocessors simultaneously function and identify the object in a single instance like the human brain. The chip of information present in the robot is the subtle body of the human being. According to science, which does not believe in previous birth, the information in the chip is gathered by the brain in course of time as the child grows by observing the world. In a dead body since this chip of information (Subtle Body) escapes as Jiva, it is very difficult to exactly reproduce the same chip and introduce into the dead body. Therefore, it is very difficult to make the dead body alive to behave exactly as the previous person. The Jiva contains the information collected in the previous millions of births. Therefore, the regeneration of the chip is impossible which means to bring back the same dead person is impossible. This point indicates only the difficulty in the process and thus is not related to the concept of God. It is only an impossibility within the limits of Science.

Christianity and Islam which do not believe the previous birth or future rebirth are in agreement with science in this aspect because the escaped chip will never come back to the earth. Science says that the chip disappears along with the life. But there are several practical examples in the world in which souls have remembered the past births and narrated the past events correctly. Thus the rebirth is proved based on the perception. Whatever may be the case, the human being is exactly reproduced in toto by the scientists in the form of a robot, whether the brain-chip has received information from the previous birth or from external world in this birth. All the potentiality of awareness is exhibited in toto by the robot. This has clearly proved that any human being is a created item only and not the creator. This rejects the view of Advaita philosopher who says that every living being is Brahman or God, the creator. However science is good as far as this achievement is considered but some scientists who are atheists say that no human being is God because God does not exist. Science is good and most of the scientists are also good because even the top scientists like Einstein believed in God.

The scientist who is not the perfect scholar in science talks like an atheist. The superman like Krishna or Jesus is a perceived example in this world. Even though the scientist is able to produce robot, who represents any ordinary human being, why is science unable to produce the robot resembling Krishna or Jesus? Jesus gave the eyesight to blind. But the robot cannot do that. The super powers are impossible for a robot. Therefore science is used to reject the philosophy of Advaita scholar but the same science is to be condemned in the case of superman. The logic of science is used to refuse the logical items like human beings to be called as God. But the same science is to be condemned if it says that there is no God or human incarnation (superman). The logic is used to reject the items of creation to be called as God. But the same logic is to be rejected to analyze God, who is beyond logic. The superman is exhibiting the superpowers before our eyes. If science rejects the perception of superman, then the perception of the entire world should also be rejected. Thus science is utilized in one context and is criticized in another context. Ghatotkacha was a demon having both good and bad qualities. He was utilized by the Lord to kill Alambusa who was a demon with all bad qualities only. But Ghatotkacha cannot be excused for his partial bad qualities. Therefore the Lord planned in such a way that Karna kills Ghatotkacha. Karna is having all good qualities except a very few bad qualities. Therefore even Karna cannot be excused and was killed by Arjuna according to the instruction of the Lord. Therefore science is used to analyze any item of the creation. Science is perfectly useful in rejecting the items of creation, which are not God. But the same science is to be rejected when the concept of creator is approached, because the logic fails in God. In fact, science is only a subject which is limited to the analysis of the creation.

It keeps silent about God because it cannot analyze God. Therefore there is nothing wrong with science. Some scientists oppose God and this does not mean that science opposes God. Buddha kept silent about God because God is unimaginable. He preached about the spiritual efforts of the human being because the human beings and their efforts are imaginable entities. The silence of Buddha was misinterpreted by the followers and Buddhists say that Buddha did not accept God. The same situation is true in the case of science also. Therefore there is nothing wrong with science because only some scientists are wrong. If science is absent, we cannot analyze the awareness so clearly and we might have been misled by the followers of Advaita and we might have thought that awareness is God. You must maintain the power of logic always as far as the items of the world including human beings are concerned. You have to leave logic only in the case of God. Science helps you to identify what is not God and this itself is a great advantage.

Otherwise you will be fooled by others since you can easily be trapped by others so that you can easily believe any item of the creation as God. Today there are several spiritual preachers who do not know the fundamentals of science. They believe certain items of the creation as God because their analytical faculty is weak due to lack of scientific knowledge. They are blind and mislead the people, who are also blind due to lack of scientific knowledge. The philosophers are good scholars of logic but the ancient logic contains several wrong conclusions due to absence of experimental verification. For example, the ancient Indian logic says that sound is the characteristic property of space. But sound cannot travel in vacuum. It requires particles to vibrate mechanically for the propagation. Thus mere theoretical logic called as dry logic also goes wrong in several places. Science is never wrong as far as the analysis of the creation is considered. In the case of God it is incapable to touch God. Incapability is not wrong. Science accepts its incapability by not speaking about God like Buddha. In fact this is the correct way of explanation about the unimaginable God. Shankara says that silence is the best explanation for the unimaginable God called as Para Brahman (Maunavyakhya Prakatita Parabrahma Tattvam).

At least science does not pose to give wrong conclusions in the case where it fails because it understands its limits. The Advaita philosopher is just opposite to science. He is also incapable of understanding the unimaginable God like science. But he does not accept his incapability and poses that he has understood God and presents every living being as God. Silence is far better than the misled and misleading Advaita Philosopher. Buddha is far better than the present Advaita philosopher. Buddha kept silent about God and such silence is the correct interpretation in the case of unimaginable God. Veda says that every word fails in the case of God which means that one has to keep silent about the explanation of God. In Veda it is mentioned that a son of a sage came to his home after studying the spiritual knowledge. When his father asked about God, the son kept silent and the sage certified that his son has completed the spiritual knowledge. God is unimaginable only to those people who like to approach God directly. But the devotees experience God through a specified human form. The devotees may not know the real nature of God but they have experienced God.

The Advaita scholar opposes this concept and tries to experience God within himself or within every human being. He does not experience God because he poses that he knows the real nature of God as awareness. The devotees accept the unimaginable nature but experience God. A blind man enjoys the taste of a sweet kept on his tongue even though he does not see it or realize its appearance. This is the case of a devotee who believes the human form of God. A person is not blind but he is eating some mud claiming it as the sweet. He has seen the mud and can explain the nature of it. But what is the use? His conclusion is wrong and therefore he lost the experience of sweet. Egoism is responsible for such loss. A devotee who does not believe the human incarnation but believes in other forms like statues, which are not God is also a blind person who eats mud thinking it as a sweet. A person who has not tasted sweets pleads or believes that the mud is the only sweet. He is not prepared to taste the real sweet. Therefore he is not capable of differentiating the mud from sweet. Therefore mere devotion is not sufficient. The devotion must be associated with knowledge or logical analysis to reject the items of the creation as non-God entities.

Dattaswami answers various questions from devotees

Dattaswami answers various questions from devotees

1) What is the aim of the birth of every soul?

A) A soul is the part of creation. Veda says that the world is created for the entertainment of God only. Therefore, every soul should realize that its existence and life are for the pleasure of God only and not for the pleasure of one’s own self or his family.

2) Can we take all the human beings to be born with some purpose?

A) As long as the human being thinks that the birth and the life is meant for the pleasure of one’s own self or its family, till then the life has no purpose. The reason is that as told above. The real aim of life is only to please the Lord. Therefore, the life of such human being which thinks that the ultimate aim is only to please the Lord alone has the purpose of birth.

3) What are the duties of the human being?

A) The only duty of human being is the service to Lord. But, for the service, the maintenance of the body and family is essential. Therefore, the duties related to such maintenance are also part and parcel of the main divine duty.

4) What is the reason for human incarnation?

A) The main purpose of the human incarnation is to clarify the doubts of the devotees in the spiritual knowledge. Apart from this, vision, touch, conversation and co-living are the four fortunes that are the available to the devotees. To punish evil forces and protect the devotees, His power is able to do it. Mainly the human incarnation is only to preach the spiritual knowledge. Therefore, the incarnations like fish, pig etc., are only forms of His power. Vamana, Parasurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha etc., are mainly for the preaching only.

5) How the family should behave to please the Lord?

A) If the entire family believes the human incarnation, it will be possible to worship the Lord in human form. Since in your question the pleasure of the God is mentioned, we can observe the pleasure for our service only in the human form the Lord. In worship of idols or in the worship of formless God there is no proof of the pleasure of God that can be noted by us. Therefore, in this answer I had to limit to the human incarnation only. At least you can serve the beggars and note happiness on their faces. You will get heaven for the service though for a temporary stay.

6) Does Pravrutti lead to God?

A) The duties to be performed for the maintenance of the body and family are Pravrutti. Therefore Pravrutti is the basis to reach God, but Pravrutti alone cannot lead you to God. For a drama the stage is necessary. If you prepare the stage only without the drama the spectators will throw stones. Therefore, Pravrutti along with Nivrutti only leads to God. Nivrutti means service to Lord.

7) How to practice to Nivrutti?

A) Your question itself contains answer. Service to Lord in practice is the practice of Nivrutti. Nivrutti is in the form of feelings and in the form of practice. Praising or singing the Lord with words, loving God with mind and discussing God with intelligence is the feeling-form of Nivrutti. Sacrifice of work and sacrifice of fruit of work are practical Nivrutti. Nivrutti is completed when both forms exist. The drinking water is like the feeling-form and the practice is like the plate of meals offered to the guest. Then only we will get the complete grace of the Lord. Veda says the feeling-form as Asambhuti and practical- form as Sambuthi. You should not expect any fruit for the feeling-form. Even the hotel does not charge you for a cup of water! Only the plate of meals is charged.

8) If one follows justice, is there is no necessity to worship God?

A) Justice is the stage and worship is the drama based on it. Even without justice the worship can be done. Kannappa is hunter. He kills the innocent animals like rabbit. But by worship he got salvation. Even without stage the drama can be played on floor. But the stage without drama is waste. The aim of practicing the justice is only to please the Lord. Therefore, whatever pleases God that is justice. Krishna asked Dharma Raja to tell a lie, but Dharma Raja did not tell the lie. Dharma Raja was taken to hell because he did not tell the lie even on the advice of the Lord. Therefore, God is more important than justice. But in the Pravrutti which is the behaviour to the other souls, justice is more important than injustice. But in Nivrutti God is more important than justice. Since the Nivrutti is the aim of life mere justice is waste. By justice one can reach temporary heaven according Gita. By Nivrutti the permanent abode of God is obtained.

9) For which purpose Worship, service and praising are done?

A) All these are done only to please the Lord. Praising is like giving dinking water. Service is like offering meals. Both these are called as worship.

10) “All this is God” is Vedic statement. Does it mean that all the body of human incarnation is God or does it mean that the entire creation is God?

The word Brahman has two meanings. The greatest item in a category is Brahman. Brahman also means God. In Gita, Veda is called as Brahman. Since Veda is the greatest among the scriptures, it is called as Brahman. Since God is greater than any greatest item, God is also called as Brahman. The inert energy is greatest in the creation. All this creation is inert energy only. If you take God is Brahman, the entire human body of the human incarnation is Brahman. If you say that all the creation is God, then the entertainment of God as told in Veda is impossible.

The enjoyer and enjoyed cannot be one and the same, because the entertainment is impossible. Only the human body is equal to the world, because the nine items are common in the human body and the world (the eight items of Apara and ninth Para). The intelligence (Buddhi) exists only in the human body. Therefore, God pervaded in the body of the human incarnation can be said as God pervading the world. Therefore you can see the body of Krishna as the world but the world cannot be seen as Krishna. If the Universe is God, the soul which is a part of Universe is also Brahman. Since there is nothing other than Brahman, who gets salvation and from which the salvation is needed? If that is true there is no need of spiritual effort.

11) You told that you are every thing and you are everywhere. Then why not the soul be God?

A) If you take My statement in the direct sense, then the spiritual effort becomes waste. If God is the whole Universe and if there is nothing other than God, how can the creation give entertainment to God? Veda says that the creation came to entertain God. Then Veda becomes futile. Therefore, the interpretation of God’s word must be done properly. In grammar there is statement “All this Kalinga”. Kalinga is the name of king. How the kingdom which is in the form of soil can be a human being called as Kalinga? According to grammar this means that the kingdom is under the control of king Kalinga. Therefore, you have to take my statement in that sense and so it means that all this is under the control of God. In some occasions, I tell such sentences to encourage the devotees. This indicates the affection of Satguru. In the climax of devotion where one sees only God and nothing else, this can be correlated directly. Gopikas reached that state. If this is true why are you eating food and not mud? You should not use this statement to escape the spiritual effort and feel that you are God. Such statement of the final Avadhuta- stage should not be used by every one.

12) Who am I? Am I the soul?

A) You are the soul. Soul is awareness. Awareness is the special work form of the energy. Awareness is a special of form of inert energy that is generated by the Oxidation of food in the body.

13) How can I see my-self?

A) The essence of the awareness is the inert energy. Awareness is proved as the form of inert energy. If you stop food and oxygen the inert energy is not supplied and the awareness disappears. In the deep sleep the awareness remains as inert energy which is its basic form. Therefore, in deep sleep there is no awareness. If you see the inert energy like Sun light, it is equal to seeing the soul. To day you can see the awareness as the basic form of energy flowing as waves in sophisticated medical electronic instruments.

14) You say that you are Datta and again say that you are not Datta.
Why this contradiction?

A) If some body is eligible to digest the divine knowledge, the first statement is told. If some body does not deserve, the second statement is told. Krishna never told any body in His life that He is God. Krishna told only to Arjuna during the preaching of Gita that He is God and Arjuna was close to the Lord for the past several births as Nara with Narayana. Therefore Krishna did not face any danger. Sankara also did not face any danger because He told that every human being is God. Jesus told before a group of people that He and His father are one and the same. Therefore, He was crucified. Egoism and jealousy existing in every human being oppose the acceptance of one human being as God. According to Islam there is no human incarnation. Therefore, the human beings accept either the concept of every human being as God or no human being as God. Even a great devotee will suspect the human incarnation in some time due to egoism and jealousy. Therefore, human incarnation uses these two sentences according to the context. Even in a devotee the second statement will pacify the egoism and jealousy hidden in the subconscious state.

15) What is special penance?

A) Penance means the spontaneous urge in the concentration but it should be spontaneous. It is a state of madness. Such state came for Gopikas only. The other efforts need some reason. Without aspiration for fruit the madness that is reached in the love for the God is the special penance. In such penance the Lord becomes the servant of devotee. This is the higher fruit than Advaita.

16) If the doer-ship is removed can the soul become God?

A) The God and soul are completely different. God is the creator and the soul is a part of creation. The Doer-ship has wide scope of range. Starting from the creatorship of universe, up to doing sins in the case of a demon, the word doer-ship can be used. The creatorship is confined only to God. If the doer-ship means the creatorship of the world, then such doer-ship is necessary for the soul to become God. In every action if the soul feels that it is not the doer and completely surrenders to God, the soul will become liberated and close servant of God. This is the maximum state of divinity that can be achieved by the soul.

17) It is said that God takes the form as per your desire. Does it not mean that He is formless?

A) God is neither formless nor has form. In the creation both formless objects like air and form-full objects like earth exist. Because of this reason God is neither formless nor form-full since both are imaginable. Veda says that God is unimaginable. But God comes in human form, which is useful to the humanity in all directions. The main aim of the human form is preaching Divine Knowledge. That is why God has taken a human form which is very much useful to the humanity in various angles. You have to worship such form taken by God. He is not your servant to come in the form you desire. In Gita the Lord said that He will approach the devotee in the same path as the devotee approaches. This does not mean that He will take the form as you like. You can take any form you like which can be a representative of God (Pratika) but God does not exist in it.

18) The three faced and six-handed form(Datta) is Parabrahman. Then what about the other divine forms?

A) Datta means God given to the humanity in the human form. The six hands show the six modifications in His external body and three faces show the three qualities exhibited by Him. Therefore, only Datta is the attainable form of God for humanity. All the other forms are the energetic bodies of the upper worlds. They do not belong to the world of humanity. It is the natural tendency of the human beings to neglect the available human form and to give value to the unavailable energetic forms.

19) Does every soul reach God?

A) For humanity God is confined to the human form only. Even the recognition itself is very difficult. Even after recognition it is more difficult to stand on it because He exhibits the Maya of three qualities. One in millions and that too in one birth after millions of births can identify and please the God with full sacrifice and service. Like this Gita says (Kaschit mam….).

20) Does the awareness in every body is the form of God?

A) When God is unimaginable we cannot say that He is form-full or formless. The awareness in every living body is only a part of His creation. This awareness is the greatest in the creation, because it has a unique property of Knowledge. Since any greatest item can be called as Brahman, the awareness (Soul) can be called as Brahman. Awareness is imaginable and hence cannot be God.

21) Should the soul not desire for the appreciation from God?

A) If such desire is without egoism it is not wrong. Satyabhama was having such desire with egoism. Krishna removed it.

22) After how much time and by which means the soul reaches God?

A) The possibility to reach God is only in one human birth. If you miss it you may get other human births but without that chance. The five-fold service by words, by mind, by intelligence, by sacrifice of work and by sacrifice of fruit of work can be the only path to get the grace of the God.

23) What is the reason for these atrocities in the world?

A) The only reason is not having the contact with God through Satsanga that imparts the divine knowledge in the human being.

24) If God created this world like a cinema, is it only the way for us to watch the cinema?

A) God has given freedom and intelligence (discriminating power) to the human beings. Therefore, each soul is creating its own cinema. The stage, dress etc., are given by the God but not the story and dialogues. Therefore, God is the creator of the Universe but He is not the creator of the life of the soul. When God comes in human incarnation, He comes down along with His servants who are the liberated souls. Then only He is the writer of the story and dialogues for that divine play.

25) Why God is tolerating the dictatorship of some people?

A) In the creation every incident is the result of the three dimensional network of action, time, fruit etc., You do not know the incidents of the previous birth. The person who tortured somebody is now born as the sufferer. You see this birth only and pity that soul. In the creation of God no injustice will take place and nobody will escape. Hence, the omniscient God keeps silent. The soul with limited knowledge talks all sorts of things.

26) Why the present rulers are not following the rule when they punish the innocent people?

A) Again you are committing the mistake to think that the punished person is innocent. The innocence cannot be judged by either you or present ruler. Not only in the previous birth even in this birth he committed several sins which are not only known to you or even to himself. Therefore, the real judgment is given by God. The judge may give a wrong judgment. He gave like that because his enquiry is guided by God. You are criticizing the judge. The judgment given by him by mistake is correct because it is given by God. Anybody in this world who harms you is just instrumental. Without the enquiry and decision of God nothing will happen in this world. The God is punishing not with revenge but to transform the soul. This entire system of Universe is created and run by God only.

27) What is the essence of justice?

A) Justice is the divine system created by God, to maintain the balance of the society so that the spiritual aspirants can do their efforts with peace. The justice is related to your colleague soul. The essence of Dharma is not to hurt anyone in anyway because the law and order is in the hands of God. At least you should not harm any devotee. But punishing the students for their welfare is exempted because the welfare of the student is the main aim.

28) What is injustice and immorality? what is the punishment for this?

A) You may hurt your colleague souls in several ways. All these ways are injustice and immorality. For example by corruption you are hurting your colleague souls. At least you are not exempting the poor and devoted people. If you do corruption in the case of unjust rich people, you should spend it for divine purpose. If you spend it for your self or for your family, all of you will be completely destroyed.

29) When shall we speak truth and when shall we not speak truth?

A) If innocent and devoted souls are hurt, you should not speak truth. To hurt a soul is the highest injustice. Kauravas harmed Pandavas who were innocent devotees. Krishna asked Dharma Raja to tell a lie in the war. There it is justified. The final aim is to destroy the evil people. Ends justify means. In the case of God all the justice should be thrown up. Because in Nivrutti the real justice is to please God. The final aim of the soul should be Nivrutti.

30) Between duty and God which is more important?

This depends on your stage in the spiritual path. There is nothing to decide here. An ordinary human being will do the worldly duties only. Even if you advice to leave such duties, he will not leave because he cannot leave. For Sankara even though His mother asked him to do worldly duties, He left them and dedicated Himself to God only. Therefore, the soul does according to its spiritual state and inherent interest. Finally the interest decides the selection. Therefore you cannot have universal selection.

31) God is giving every thing to all the people. What the necessity of the service to Him?

The absolute reality is that God does not require any service and sacrifice from any soul. In this state the creation does not exist it self. But He created the universe for entertainment. He gave independence and intelligence to all the souls. God has removed the knowledge that this entire universe is His wealth only. He imposed ignorance on Himself and on the souls. In the state of this ignorance only, through sacrifice and service the love is proved. Such love only gives happiness to heart. There can be no better entertainment than this.

You are bringing out this point to escape form sacrifice and service. Such over intelligence arises due to your blind love on family and your selfishness. If you go to that absolute state of reality your self and creation disappear. If your point is correct, don’t ask God for anything. You want Advaita when you give something to Him. You need dvaita when he has to give some thing to you. If you do not aspire anything from Him do not give anything to Him. In fact the highest devotion is to give every thing to Him without aspiring anything from Him. But you are reverse to this. Apart from this, you show over intelligence!

32) What is the sequence of spiritual effort? How is it done?

A) Knowledge, devotion and service are the sequent steps. Service is the real proof of devotion. These three steps are indicated by Sankara, Ramanuja and Madhva who came in sequence. The practice of these three steps depends on your love to God. When the divine love exists, your practice is spontaneous. When such love does not exist, the question “how to do?” comes up.

33) When the soul gains completeness?

A) The soul attains perfectness in the one-way traffic service to God. If the service is there, devotion is there. Hanuman, perfect in the service, is the perfect devotee and scholar.

34) Why do not all see God?

A) No body sees God. God is not touched even by imagination. How can we see God? God enters some medium and becomes visible through that medium. Through that medium also you are experiencing only the existence God. Only experience of existence is possible. There is no any way to see God directly. The current cannot be seen directly. When it flows in a wire only its existence can be experienced.

35) What is the fruit of service to God without aspiring His love in return?

A) As I told, you should attain the perfectness in the one-way traffic in your service to God. You should not aspire any fruit including His love. When you are not aspiring even love what is the point of another fruit? Love is theoretical and can be easily given and the other fruits are practical. When you are not aspiring even theoretical fruit, how can you aspire other practical fruits?

36) What is the aim of spiritual institutions?

A) The propagation of the divine knowledge should be the sole aim of spiritual institutions. If the knowledge is perfect, devotion will be strong and the service will be complete. The duty of Guru is only to propagate the correct knowledge. That is sufficient. The spiritual institutions should take the place of Guru.

37) Which form of God should be worshipped?

A) Lord Krishna has given the essence of all the Vedas. In Gita He told that He is in the form of human being. In fact, He is in the human form only. In Gita everywhere Krishna asked to worship and serve Him only. Any human being can perfectly serve God in human form only. An offering can be really eaten by Krishna. Therefore, such service is only real. You cannot do real service to formless God or Statue. Only Krishna could preach and clear all the doubts. You can see the response of your service in the form of pleasantness in the face of Krishna. Here again the devotees slipped. Krishna told that He will come again and again. Therefore, the service to the present human incarnation is the perfect spiritual knowledge. If you take statue of Krishna, again the above defects are repeated.

38) In this time of kali, which human incarnation is to be worshipped?

Suppose you have identified some human forms as incarnations. Now the problem comes; who is the real human incarnation among these? Suppose you have worshipped all so that the risk of missing the real human incarnation is avoided. Suppose you have taken one form and it may not be real human incarnation. Even then, you need not be worried. Such human form may not be God but certainly he must be a very close devotee of God. Since your filtration is to such high level, the other forms must be exceptional devotees of the highest level.

Suppose you have taken such a strong devotee as human incarnation. I assuredly tell you, that you are more lucky than the person who serves the real human incarnation. The reason is that God is more pleased if such strong devotee is worshipped, because God loves such strong devotee more than Himself. Therefore you will receive a better fruit in quicker time. Apart from this there is also the possibility of the same God coming in different forms in the same time. For example, Parasurama and Shri Rama and AkkalKota Maharaj and Shridi Saibaba were simultaneous human incarnations.

39) In Gita both males and females are given equal importance. This is stated by Swami. Is it true?

A) The soul is neither female nor male but the word Jeeva or Atman is in masculine gender in Sanskrit. In Sanskrit the gender is only for word and not for the meaning. In fact all the human beings are made of the same items externally and internally. The five elements make the external body. The Jeevatman is made of awareness which is in the form of four Antahkaranams (ParaPrakruti and APara Prakruti) or three qualities. In Gita, only Prakruti and Purusha are mentioned. Purusha is God and Prakruti is human being. If you take five elements as Prakruti and jeevatman as Purusha, then also every human being Prakruti and Purusha. When you take like this, God will become Purushottama. Meera exhibited a doubt to Tulasi Das that whether Purusha exists in souls. The basis for this question is that she is in the first type of clarification (Prakruti and Purusha). Accordingly Veda says that only Lord is only Purusha. Veda also says that all the human beings are females and are also the wives of God. The word wife means that is maintained. The word husband means maintainer. In Gita it is said that God is Father who means creator. If all are the children of God, then all the human beings are brothers and sisters only! you should take the meanings in the root sense here and not in your sense. In Gita it is told that even women will get salvation. This does not mean that so far Gita was preached for males only. To deny this misunderstanding that is Gita is so far confined to males only; Lord said like that. This means that whatever is told so far applies both males and females only.

40) God said that the sex which does not oppose justice is divine. Is there any limitation to that?

a) The sex is meant for the reproduction of the souls who are coming from the upper world. The sex is placed in the four Purusharthas. In Veda also it is stated that you should marry and produce children. In the same Veda it is stated that you can leave every body and every thing for the sake of God at any time. The first statement is for those who are incapable of the sanyasa. But a doubt comes whether one cannot take sanyasa after becoming the house-holder. The second statement is most powerful and rules out the first statement. Therefore, not only Sankara, a house-holder like Buddha took sanyasa. Therefore, within the limits of the state of the soul, Gita said like that. Within such limits it is better to marry than to move freely in the line of sex. The earth is respected with respect to the lower patala but with respect to sky the earth cannot be respected.

41) How to reach God and how to recognize Him?

A) Reaching God means reaching the medium in which God exists. No body can reach unimaginable God directly. You cannot catch current but you can experience current through the alive wire. The essence of Gita is to recognize and serve the present human incarnation.

42) What should be known form Satguru?

A) It depends on your state. If egoism and jealousy are in climax, He will say that you must search for human incarnation. This is also stated by Guru. The reason is that Guru is not human incarnation. If those two exist in lower level, He will say that the power and grace of God exists in Himself. This is also stated by Guru because it is true in his case also. Such Guru is the incarnation of power of God (Amsavatara). If those two are completely absent in you, Satguru says that He is the human incarnation. Therefore, Satguru preaches according your state.

43) If Satguru is God, how can he show God?

A) When you attain such maturity, Satguru will show Himself as God. Krishna told like that. Really the Satguru is showing the medium only in which God exists, because God is invisible as He is unimaginable. Such medium should be taken as God. The alive wire can be only taken as the current. If the Guru is liberated soul, who accompanied the Lord in this earth, he will show the Satguru whenever you deserve.

44) People of which state can see God?

A) When the egoism and jealousy are removed, which are the layers covering your eyes, you can see God through Satguru.

45) Which is great between Knowledge and devotion?

A) Without Knowledge devotion is not generated. When Rukmini came to know all the details of Krishna (Knowledge) from Narada, the love on Krishna was generated. Since Krishna is God such love is called as devotion. Devotion leads to God according to Gita. The real proof of devotion is service. Rukmini attained the Lord through devotion and then served the Lord by pressing His feet as Maha Lakshmi. The knowledge should exist along as long the soul exists. Till you reach house, you must have the torch light. Even after reaching the house, the light should be there in the house. As the knowledge is lost, even devotees like Narada and Sudarsana have fallen by egoism. Knowledge without devotion is waste. Devotion without service is only cheating. Sankara told that knowledge and devotion are one and the same. In Gita the Lord gave highest place the both the knowledge and devotion, which means that both are one and the same.

46) After receiving knowledge should one keep silent or propagate it?

A) Knowledge at any level without propagation is the greatest sin. Shastras say that such scholar will become the intensive demon (Brahma Rakshasa). When you propagate, your knowledge becomes more and more stabilized. Therefore propagation is useful for your upliftment also. But you must be sure that the knowledge which you propagate is correct. If you propagate the wrong knowledge it is again sinful. Therefore you propagate the true knowledge spoken by your Satguru only on his command. If the propagated knowledge was spoken by Satguru, there is no need of His command also.

47) It is said that God sees every body with equal attitude, then what about the punishment of sinners?

A) When ever you ask a doubt it should be supported by scripture. If you say “it is said”, that has no authority. If what said is true, then in Gita how Krishna told He will destroy sinners.

Dattaswami answers questions from a Christian devotee

Dattaswami answers questions from a Christian devotee

Q1) The Bible (Matthew 19:12) says regarding becoming a eunuch (napuMsaka) for the sake of the kingdom of heaven “He that is able to receive it, let him receive it”. Does it mean that anyone who feels capable of remaining a celibate (brahmachari) for the sake of God should become one?

The word eunuch means the removal of male egoism. Krishna asked the saints to be born as maidens to receive the salvation. Celibate means the person is always interested in the search of the God. It is has nothing to do with marriage. In Sanskrit the word Brahmachari indicates a person who is always aware of the Lord.

Q2) How can I handle Rajas and Tamas in me?

Rajas or Krodha means emotion. Tamas means ignorance. Both these can be removed by Sattvam, which is the true knowledge given by your selected spiritual preacher.

Q3) The Bible has a concept of the “Holy Spirit” that comes down to dwell in people who have put their full faith and trust in the Lord Jesus. Where does that fit into Hinduism?

The Holy Spirit means pure Sattvam. Sattvam indicates the knowledge and all the good qualities associated with it are indicated by the word Holiness. All the devotees of God are blessed with this pure Sattvam as you can find in Gita. This pure Sattvam is always associated with the Lord as said in Gita.

Q4) You say that you are the human incarnation of God. Then how come I never got even a little bit of Bliss from you? Even if Bliss is not the goal, I should get atleast some in order to identify you as per your method of identifying the human incarnation—Knowledge that gives bliss and generates love.

I never said that I am the human incarnation of God. Only when the devotees stress on this concept even after My serious opposition I agree to it because if you analysis the word human incarnation, it does not mean that I am God. It means that the God is present in this human body as a guest visiting your house for his work. My inert human body is the house. I am the soul and owner of this house. The God visited my house for his work.

When the guest in your house speaks you are not speaking. Therefore, when God gives this spiritual knowledge I am not speaking. You need not fear that I have become God. You say God in flesh. This word indicates the concept. The word flesh indicates the inert human body and the soul in it. The word God indicates the guest that visited the human body. This spiritual knowledge has given bliss to some people and has not given bliss to you. This means that the defect is with the soil and not with seed.

If the seed is defective, the seed should not germinate in any soil. Similarly my knowledge should not have given bliss to anybody. As soon as you hear the knowledge, the harsh truth in it may not give bliss to you. But some devotees may get bliss on hearing the truth even if it is harsh. Did the knowledge of Jesus give bliss to all in His time? In that case why He was crucified by majority of the people? According to your version, all the people should have got bliss. When the doctor says to a patient that an injection of medicine is to be given, the child weeps. The child does not get bliss from the medicine immediately. But in long run the child gets good health and gets bliss permanently.

A grown up person is happy by seeing the injection because he realises that the medicine injected will act quickly. A child is not getting immediate bliss on seeing the injection. But the same injection is giving bliss to an elder person. Your heart is pure and innocent like that of a child. When the knowledge is practiced, then only the eternal bliss dawns on you. But you should not satisfy yourself there. You must give bliss to the God through sacrifice.

If your ultimate goal is only bliss, you are in no way greater than any ordinary human being who also craves for the same bliss. You have taken God as the means to achieve the bliss. The other fellow has taken the wine as means to achieve the same bliss. Your aim is on the bliss only and not on the God. You should keep God blissful through suffering by sacrifice. The God also will keep you blissful by attracting your sins on Him. Such sacrifice of yourself or God is the real love. Such real love is practically experienced in the case of your love on your family members. It is not impossible. If it is impossible, it should be impossible everywhere.

Q5) After Jesus Christ left his disciples, the disciples continued to teach that one should follow and worship Jesus Christ only. Even though they were the ones representing God and the Holy Spirit was supporting them, they did not ask people to worship them. How come you are indicating that it would be good for people to worship you now?

I am speaking about the God in flesh, who comes in every human generation. I am telling that you should identify such human incarnation and worship Him. The disciples cannot be the human incarnations and so the disciples of Jesus were correct. Whoever is the human incarnation like Jesus, Krishna etc, should be worshipped. I have given the signs of the human incarnation as present in scriptures. I have also asked you to use your logic in such identification. After all this, if you identify me as the human incarnation, then only you have to worship me. I never say that I am the human incarnation and you should worship me.

Krishna also told Arjuna to worship Him as the human incarnation. I never told like that. I only say that after the analysis of the scriptures, whoever is found as the human incarnation, He should be worshipped. If you are found as the human incarnation you should be worshipped. How can I force anybody to worship me? I have accepted the worship of those devotees only who have firm faith in Me even after My several negative tests. That does not apply to your case. Whomever you find as the human incarnation you worship Him. My information to you is that the human incarnation exists in every generation to avoid the partiality.

Q6) The Bible says that the Holy Spirit will be your guide in all things until Jesus Christ comes again. And, there will be other preachers, but Christ himself will not come down until the time and manner specified. You are saying you are re-incarnation of Jesus Christ, and we should worship you. Please explain this.

As I told you the Holy Spirit means the divine knowledge. The recorded divine knowledge can certainly guide people to some extent. But the direct explanation from the God cannot be given by anybody. God gives such direct explanation to every human generation directly. If one generation is blessed by such direct contact and other generations are having only the indirect guidance by Holy Spirit, again the partiality arises. Therefore, either there should be continuous guidance by the Holy Spirit for every generation from the beginning of the creation or God must be coming in every generation. Gita says that God comes down whenever there is necessity. You stick to one scripture only and argue. What about the other scriptures?

Q7) What is your explanation of the Millennium prophecies in the Bible?

Any prophecy carries the internal meaning, which is present in every human generation and it is not limited to a particular period of time.

Q8) According to your lectures, the same people of your inner circle are born again and again in this world. Does this mean that these people cannot reach the permanent abode of the Lord?

The inner circle devotees of God have reached already the permanent abode of God. These devotees take human births whenever God comes down in human form. When the mission is over God will go to the permanent abode along with these liberated souls. Infact wherever God exists, that is the eternal divine abode. These devotees will never come to the routine cycle on this earth. From that angle they have no re-birth. Any soul is having the equal opportunity to enter the inner circle provided the soul has strong wish and puts efforts.

Q9) You say it is necessary for God to incarnate again and again since Christianity and Islam do not accept re-incarnation for the soul. But later you explain your theories assuming reincarnation of the soul. So what is your actual stand; do you accept reincarnation of the soul or not? If you do, then how can you reconcile with Christianity and Islam, which absolutely do not accept it?

The liberated soul will never have re-birth in this routine cycle. But the soul will be born as human being to associate and serve the God, whenever God comes down in human form. Regarding the ordinary soul also, it will not get the re-birth having the same spiritual chance. Therefore, one should try to please God in this human birth itself without postponement.

Thus, there is no re-birth from this angle. But the soul can be born as an animal or animal like human being and thus re-birth exists. Like this the contradiction can be removed. If you pass a hard and fast rule that the soul has no re-birth at all, do you mean that omnipotent God is also bound by your rule? The Lord can sanction the human re-birth to a soul with the equal spiritual chance also, provided He feels that the soul can uplift itself if a chance is given. Of course, such chance is very rare and one should not depend on it.

Q10) In your attempt to reconcile reincarnation vs. permanent heaven/hell, you say that repeated animal births is also a permanent hell. The Bible clearly says that in hell, the souls retain the ability to feel pain and reason (thinking). Animals do not think and do not remember their past births. If you say they are being punished, they do not even know why they are being punished. They will not learn anything from the punishment and will continue with their sinful ways if they get human birth. Also animals cannot be said to be suffering because they do not even know any better life. How can this be the hell described in the Bible?

The sinners are like animals. You can see a thief continues with his quality in spite of intensive third degree treatment in the police station. According to your version, he should realise his mistake because he is a human being and not the animal. How do you know that the animal is also not realising since it keeps silent? You are depending always on one scripture and your argument is always unidirectional. If you read life history of Shirdi Sai Baba, one day He found a snake swallowing a frog. Sai told His devotees that both the snake and frog were human beings in the previous birth and that they stabbed each other for the sake of property.

Then Sai told the snake and frog “Are you not ashamed of your behaviour which continues from the previous birth”? The snake left the frog and went away. Animals have realised on the warning from the Lord. Sometimes you find two human beings fighting with each other and do not separate inspite of your repeated warnings.

If you simply depend on the Bible or Gita only, there is no use of any discussions with you. You must be a sea frog and not well frog as said by Swami Vivekananda. You must examine all the scriptures impartially and then only you can arrive at the true knowledge. I see yourself as pure colourless crystal with pure innocent heart like child and imbibing the colour of any substance near yourself.

You say that logic should be avoided. This means you must follow whatever some body says to you without analysing it. Now I will also say some thing and just follow it without analysis. You always analyse my statements because I said that you should analyse every statement. But I mean that you should analyse every statement of every person. Some one says that you should follow his statement without analysis. You simply accept that without analysis. What I mean is that you should analyse both of us and arrive at the truth. If you are against the logical analysis, why are you analysing my statements only? You must follow my statements also blindly. Is it said that the statement of any Indian guy should be analysed and your version of “Beyond the logic” does not apply to the Indian guys?

Q11) The Bible mentions the coming again of the Christ. It does not say anything about repeated incarnations of Jesus. It accepts only two: One that came 2000 yrs ago and the second, which will come after the tribulation. Specific events described in the Bible about the time of second coming of the Christ have not yet taken place. How can you then claim to be the re-incarnation of Jesus?

The word Jesus means the eternal God present in that human body. The same human body will never come again. Therefore, Jesus will come in another human body. If you restrict to only two human incarnations according the direct meaning of statement, then Bible contradicts Gita.

Gita says that God will come in human form any number of times whenever there is necessity. I have to speak keeping all these scriptures in my view. You speak only keeping one scripture in your view. This is the reason for the gap between us. To solve the contradiction I will say that Jesus will come again and this does not mean that He will come once only again. The tribulation is present in every generation and is not limited to a particular period.

Q12) The Bible indicates that the world will not know perfect peace until after the tribulation period. Is perfect peace the aim of your mission?

In every human generation the tribulation comes and the tribulation may be very serious in the end. The cyclones come often and Tsunami comes rarely. Both the cyclone and Tsunami should be controlled. The efforts of human incarnation may vary in their intensity. Perfect peace is the initial aim of God (Pravrutti), which is the establishment of balance of the society. The higher aim is liberation of the soul (Nivrutti). Unless the first aim is achieved, the second aim cannot be thought of. Unless the class is kept silent, there is no use of teaching.

Q13) I think that you are the Anti Christ since it is written in the Bible that the Anti Christ will win the hearts of people by pretending to preach world peace and unity of all religions. What do you say?

You are saying that the anti-Christ tries for world peace. This means that Christ is against the world peace! This simple logic crushes your statement because Jesus is the very embodiment of peace. Even in Hinduism, the followers of Ramanuja say that Sankara was the incarnation of a demon. They quote some verses from the “Bhavishyat Purana” written by sage Vyasa, which show the same meaning. The question to such people is “Have you recorded the Purana from the mouth of Vyasa directly by a tape recorder? Or at least have you got a written hand script of Vyasa?” Certainly this statement was introduced in to the scripture by some guy later on.

Q14) If Jesus died for my sins and the sins of the whole world, then my sins are washed when I confess and accept Him as my only savior. Why do I need you or anyone else for reaching heaven or attaining salvation?

It is written on the first page of Bible that Jesus came to save His people. His people mean His devotees and it does not mean that He saved every human being without any discrimination. I ask a simple question with simple common sense. According to Christianity the soul has no re-birth. All the souls before the birth of Jesus have gone either to God or hell permanently. Now Jesus suffered for all the sins of all the souls. Does this mean that all the souls present in the permanent hell were immediately relieved from the hell and hell is vacant? Now you say that your sins are also cancelled.

How He has cancelled the sins of the future generation? Suppose you say that He has cancelled all the sins of all the souls of past, present and future, this means no soul was in the hell and no soul is in the hell and no soul will go to the hell. What is the use of that hell which is always vacant? The people have propagated the misinterpretations due to their anxiety to attract the people towards Christianity. They show this as their special point, which is not present in any other religion. They want to attract the innocent masses by such statements and forget the simple logic and their committed blender. The real interpretation of this statement is that Jesus suffered for the sins of His real devotees.

Such behaviour of sacrifice exists in Hinduism also. Krishna tried to give away all His wealth to Sudama and tried to transfer his poverty on to Him. But Sudama is His real deserving devotee. Incarnations of Datta like Sai also showed the suffering of sins of their real devotees. With such interpretation only this concept becomes universal and justified in all religions. Do not be carried away by the interpretations of the human beings.

You read the Bible and think about the meanings. Your pure heart will certainly receive the real meaning if you do not hear any body. You read the knowledge of any body and try to assimilate it with your own brain. Do not allow other brains for understanding the scripture. God has clearly explained in the scripture and you can yourself understand by using even little common sense. The word of God is very clear.

Q15) You base your arguments on the impartiality of God. However the Bible gives indications that God favored some places and people over others. The truth is that partiality/impartiality, logic, reason, justice, equality and fairness are all concepts of the human mind. You cannot judge the works of God based on these human concepts. Why do you try to fit God in the limited boundaries of human rationality?

The partiality of God is justified provided it is shown on good people. But His partiality to a small country, which contains majority of bad people, is not justified. Therefore, you have to judge the partiality in the light of justice because God will never do injustice.

Q16) You say in the Rohit Gita that the son will be sent to hell if he leaves his parents for the sake of a girl (woman). However Jesus does not condemn it. Since man and woman were made by God and are united into one soul, in marriage, why should it not be justified for a man to leave his parents for a woman in order to start his family?

When a person leaves his parents due to attraction of a girl, I mean leaving the attachment to parents. It does not mean physical separation, which is necessary for setting up the family. Jesus told that one has to leave all his family and even one has to be prepared to sacrifice the life for the sake of God in order to become His dearest disciple. How do you explain your own Bible in this point? His path is full of thorns and truth is always harsh.

Q17) You said that we all play roles here in this earth. Some people play good roles, and some people play evil roles. But, both the roles get their remuneration after death equally. Jesus Christ said that ‘Evil trials must come, but woe to those through whom they come’. Why is there woe to the evil person who brings trials to the good then, like the disciple Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus? This also seems to go against the philosophy of Heaven and Hell. Please explain.

When the human incarnation comes down along with the inner circle of devotees, the roles are assigned for the divine drama. In such case, there is no discrimination of good and bad roles. Ravana was the gatekeeper of the Lord. But you should not extend this to the entire world and say that every bad fellow is in the divine role. Ravana went to the abode of the Lord after the death. But every bad fellow will not go to the abode of Lord. The divine drama is enacted for the sake of the world. Judas Iscariot acted in his bad role. His repentance and suicide prove that he belongs to inner circle only.

My friend! Since you have not accepted me I address you as My friend and not as my disciple. This is the inner meaning when I told that you were my friend in Brindavanam. I will never say to you or your category that I am God or God is in me. I say only that I am a devotee like you. This is the reason for sending Rohit Gita to Dr. Nikhil only and not to you directly. I say God is in me to such devotees who have partial faith on me. But to my inner circle devotees I say that I am God. The statements differ one devotee to other.

Jesus also told in different ways “ I am messenger from God”, “I am son of the God” and “I am the God since I and my father are one and the same”. These different statements relate to different levels of devotees. One level cannot absorb the statement of other level. For example you take the case of Ajay Bhaiah. He always sings the devotional songs composed by Me. He has full devotion on Me while singing the Bhajans. He always participates in Satsanga and receives knowledge through his intelligence. He always works for the mission. He sacrificed all his ancestral wealth to the mission during the time of past ten years and the cost of that wealth comes to about one crore rupees. He has children and lives on his salary only. He has several debts in the Banks. I tried several times to pay his debts but he did not accept. I tested him in several ways but his faith did not shake. In fact I am defeated by him. He saw the vision of Viswaroopam (Cosmic form) in Me. The God in Me gave that vision to him and I have nothing to do with it. When I said that the God in Me gave the vision, he never agrees and says that I am the God.

Therefore, I declare to him only that I am the God. This declaration is personal and is limited to his case only. Krishna never told that He is God to any one in His lifetime. Only when He was teaching Gita to Arjuna He declared He is God and gave the vision of cosmic form. Therefore, you do not touch the statements of other levels. I will speak to you in your level and you can treat me as a mere human being and as your good friend.

Christian Hindu friendship for universal spirituality

Christian Hindu friendship for universal spirituality

If a Christian loves another Christian as his brother, there is no greatness in it. Similarly, there is no greatness if a Hindu loves another Hindu as his brother. The greatness lies if a Christian loves the Hindu as his brother and vice-versa. A true Christian must love a true Hindu as his brother and should treat a wrong Christian as an outsider.

Similarly a true Hindu must love a true Christian as his brother and must treat a wrong Hindu as an outsider. Suppose you are in white dress. An outsider is also in the white dress, but your own brother is in blue dress. Based on the colour of the external dress will you treat the outsider who is in the same colour of the dress as your own brother?

Will you treat your own brother as an outsider because the colour of his dress is different from your dress? You are recognizing your own brother not by the external dress but by the internal body in which your own parental blood is flowing. Similarly, you are recognizing the outsider as the outsider based on the point that his inner body contains some other parental blood.

Therefore, you must recognize your real brother not by the external religion but you must recognize your brother by the internal spirituality. If the spiritual values and levels are coinciding to your stage, such a devotee is your real brother whether he is a Hindu or a Christian or a Muslim or a Buddhist. For example take the spiritual value of speaking the truth. Any person belonging to any religion must be your real brother if he speaks the truth.

You must treat a person as an outsider even if he is belonging to your religion if he is a liar. The spiritual value is the real parental blood i.e., descending from the original Godfather. When this is achieved the universal spirituality becomes meaningful and alive. Therefore, analyse and judge the spiritual values of other person to make friendship with him irrespective of his nationality, language, caste, sex, age and religion.

God will be immensely pleased if this attitude is developed. The main aim of our Universal Spirituality is only to establish such angle of view in the world. The religion is only external culture, which is related to language, habits of dress, habits of food and habits of regional styles of life.

The external religion is only ignorance like the covering smoke. The inner spirituality is like the internal burning flame of fire. The analysis is like putting on a fan that generates vigorous wind, which blows away all the external cloud of smoke and makes you visualize the true inner fire, which is the eternal spirituality.

If you realize this internal spiritual knowledge, which is like the underlying fire, you can see the perfect homogeneity and unifying single phase. The language differs and therefore, the words differ, but the meaning is same. The water remains as water, which may be indicated by different words used by different languages. There is one entity, which is beyond the imagination. Such entity is called as God or Parabrahman.

Such God has no beginning and no end because God is unimaginable. The beginning and the end must be also unimaginable for an unimaginable item. The beginning and the end of the cosmic energy or space or the creation are also unimaginable. Therefore, the beginning and the end are unimaginable for the unimaginable item like God and also for the imaginable item like space.

Therefore, the two points, which are the beginning-less and end-less characteristics cannot help you in understanding the real nature of God. If you start recognizing the God by simply these two points (beginning-less and end-less), you may think that God is an imaginable item like the space or energy or the creation. In fact based on these two characteristics people have imagined God as an imaginable item like space or energy or creation.

This concept has misled people to such a low level that people think that God is the very infinite space or infinite energy or infinite creation. Therefore, one should filter the concept of God at this juncture itself. One should think that God has no beginning and no end because the beginning and the end of an unimaginable item are also unimaginable.

Such God desired to create this Universe for entertainment. The very desire itself is the Creation. In view of God this present materialized universe in only an idea or imagination or the very desire itself. Therefore, the desire to create the world is itself the desire and also the created world itself is a desire. Thus the creation, maintenance and dissolution of the imaginary world are also imaginations or desires.

A part of this infinite creation is the individual soul. The soul is like a drop of the infinite ocean of imagination or desire of God. Thus, quantitatively the entire ocean of imagination of God is very huge compared to the tiny soul. Remember that both the Universe and the tiny soul are made of the same substance called as imagination or desire.

Thus the force of the Universe is far greater than the force of the soul. Due to such huge quantitative difference of the same phase, the Universe, which is far stronger than the soul appears as a materialized entity for the soul. But this infinite ocean of desire, which is the infinite Universe is a tiny drop compared to the infinite force of God. Therefore, again due to the same quantitative difference of force the entire universe is just the very weak imagination from the view of God. Thus imagination and materialization exist simultaneously true from the point of God and soul.
