Cure Your Tunnel Vision

This is a post aimed at the IrregularTimes.com blog writers; Jim Cook, JClifford, Peregrin Wood, ect.

You all know I am a long time poster and an even longer time reader. I have nothing but respect for the news you bring and the corrections of falsehoods you can give, but what I have noticed lately is a case of Tunnel Vision. The sum of the articles I’ve been seeing have been aimed at just a few subjects such as the war in Libya, No Labels, Americans Elect, and the Military Commissions Act. Now, I won’t debate the merits of these subjects, they’re important and need to be covered by someone. But they should not be covered at the expense of so many other important stories on both a national and a local level.

An example of a neglected story would be the rise of Emergency Financial Managers. The Daily Kos covered a story involving the arrests of teen mothers and children after they conducted a sit-in in protest of Michigan’s Emergency Financial Manager closing down their highly successful school. Emergency Financial Managers have broad, unilateral powers, including the ability to dismiss elected officials, sell off public assets (like schools) to private interests and dis-incorporate entire cities. And aside from The Daily Kos, the only other person I’ve seen covering this story is Rachel Maddow.

Another example of a neglected story, one I’m really amazed you guys didn’t jump all over, is the Florida Senate Judiciary Committee approving (right along party lines of 5 – 2) SRJ 1218, a bill that actually funds Churches with state money. With such a blatant display of contempt for the First Amendment, how could IrregularTimes not pick this up and at least give it a glance?

Or, how about the story of how America has fallen so low that it is now cheaper for Ikea to build their cheap Swedish crap here in the USA than it is to build it in Sweden? That isn’t so bad, but what is bad is how Ikea is abusing it’s employees by forcing them to work overtime, ordering them to go to meetings where they’re “discouraged” from unionizing as well as other abusive policies.

And let’s not forget Texas establishing “Traditional Values Centers” because they’ve gotta protect their precious, innocent Gawd-fearing Christian students from the evil baby killing LGBT students.

And if you want to turn your gaze back to Florida, you’ll see the Governor cutting funding for the mentally disabled.

Or, if you want to pay attention to the national stage, how about the Supreme Court shielding prosecutors who convict innocent people, even if it’s proven that the prosecutor knew in advance that he was innocent, and even if that prosecutor hid or destroyed evidence of that suspect’s innocence?

As I said before, I love this website and have nothing but respect for it. But please, focus on some of these other stories that get little attention but have big consequences.

What Is A Zeus Of A Congress?

What is a Zeus of a Congress? Can anyone understand what Louie Gohmert is talking about?

Today, Republican Congressman Louie Gohmert blurted out the following statement about health care reform: “If you make 133 percent of the poverty level or less, under that wonderful bill, you’ll get forced into Medicaid, like it or not, even if you’ve got an employer who is willing to provide you health care. Oh, by the way, if you’re above 133 percent of the poverty level and you can’t afford the great health insurance policy that is dictated by this Zeus of a Congress and President, then bad news.”

A Zeus of a Congress? What is a Zeus of a Congress?

Is a Sergeant-At-Arms armed with a lightning bolt?

Who Wants Cornwall Ready For Packing?

Who from the ocean would want to move Cornwall to a new location, and why? Does it have anything to do with friendly sperm whales?

What’s the first thing you do when you want to prepare your personal household items for a move to a new home? You wrap them in foam, and put them in a box.

So, what are we to conclude, then, about what’s happened to the town of Porthtowan, in Cornwall, England? The village woke up last Thursday to discover that the entire town was coated in sea foam.

They say that the foam came from the ocean spray. So, the obvious question is this: Who from the ocean would want to move Cornwall to a new home, and why?

There is not yet word from the press office of Mannanan Mac Lir.

In news that may be related, “sperm” whales in the Caribbean are enjoying having their “tummies” rubbed by human divers.

Lingering Sheen In Texas

We don't know exactly where Charlie Sheen is now - off in some mysterious place along the Texas Gulf Coast, hiding out, waiting for them to arrive for the final showdown, lingering until the moment of truth.

A couple of weeks ago, Irregular Times noted that there was a large oil spill along the Gulf Coast in Texas. What this site did not reveal, however, was the celebrity connection. Apparently, Irregular Times believes that it’s above that sort of journalism.

In this case, that snobbery caused Irregular Times to miss an amazing story – one that is only being hinted at by Houston Chronicle today in an article with the headline Sheen lingers 2 weeks after Port Arthur oil spill.

A Sheen is lingering this oil spill – but which Sheen, and why? Clearly, it’s not Martin Sheen. He’s always been responsible. Apparently, the Houston Chronicle doesn’t believe that it has enough corroborating sources to go fully public with the story yet, but we all know who it is. It’s the Sheen who’s always getting in trouble: Charlie Sheen. If there’s any Sheen who would linger around the scene of a disaster, it’s Charlie Sheen.

The question we now need to ask ourselves is: Why? All we need to do is follow the smell of oil to the next Charlie Sheen story to find the answer. On Friday, it was reported that Charlie Sheen’s SUV was found crashed at the bottom of a cliff – and it was empty. There was no sign of any blood, or struggle, on the inside. How could that have happened?

The truth seems clear: Charlie Sheen knows something about the oil spill in Texas, something that none of the rest of us have been told about. Charlie is on the trail of a truth that’s thick, dark, and oozing slime. Someone sent Charlie’s SUV flying down into a ravine as a warning that he had better back off – or else.

We don’t know for sure where Charlie Sheen is now – off in some mysterious place along the Texas Gulf Coast, hiding out, waiting for them to arrive for the final showdown, lingering until the moment of truth. We can only trust that Sheen will get to the bottom of this slick enigma, as surely as his SUV got to the bottom of that cliff.

Go, Charlie, go!

Crossroads in Lily Dale

A solicitation for participation in a documentary on Lily Dale, the Western New York community that continues spiritualist seances and general psychic fair fare, asks,

“Are you at a crossroad in you life and searching for answers?”

You life?

If someone doesn’t have the ordinary sensory powers to detect a typographical error, why should I trust that they have supernatural, extrasensory powers to talk to the dead?

Managing Associations

Is the National Association Management Group concerned with the management of national associations, or with the national association of management?

U.S. Representative Phil Gingrey got up on the floor of the House of Representatives yesterday in order to praise the work of the National Association Management Group.

The sensation I had when I read about the name of the NAMG was like how it feels to look at one of those optical illusions that contain two pictures, depending on the perspective of the viewer – like the one where a woman sitting at her mirror can also be seen as a skull.

Is the National Association Management Group concerned with the management of national associations, or with the national association of management?

Congressman Gingrey said of William Patterson, the Chairman of the National Association Management Group, that his “service has been marked by a dedication to the growth and continued development of the organization while providing steadfast leadership and direction”. So, does that mean that Patterson’s job is to provide leadership and direction to the dedicated development of a group that manages associations?

Well, that makes it more clear.

50 Kilometer Wide UFO Enters the Solar System

Why are the 2008 KV42 aliens here in our solar system? Are they here for some super powerful natural resource here that we don't know about? Do they know about us, and if so, what do they intend to do with us?

“Astronomers say it may have been born elsewhere.” Elsewhere, as in outside of our solar system, or even outside of our galaxy. Perhaps outside of our universe.

It’s the largest UFO ever seen. It’s 50 kilometers wide.

The mainstream, institutional, corporate-sponsored astronomers at so-called “New Scientist” claim that the orbit of this UFO “appears to have been stable for hundreds of millions of years,” but how do they know that? They just discovered the object, after all!

They insist on calling it a comet, but to tell the truth, they haven’t looked at the object, called 2008 KV42, that closely. All they see is a blur.

It could easily be a gigantic alien spaceship. A clue to that: It’s flying in the opposite direction of all the planets… as if it is powered by itself!

The obvious question now is: Why are the 2008 KV42 aliens here in our solar system? Are they here for some super powerful natural resource here that we don’t know about? Do they know about us, and if so, what do they intend to do with us?

It just so happens that a circular spaceship 50 kilometers wide could hold the entire human population of the Earth. Coincidence? That’s unlikely.

Why are the scientists refusing to ask these questions? What are they trying to cover up?

The Hellcat of Frenchtown Road

At this point, the neighbors are unsure about what happened to their cats, whether they were eaten by the creature of Frenchtown Road, or were captured and made part of the breeding program that produced the hellcat that haunts their park in the first place.

The first thing they noticed is that their cats were missing.

The thing about a housecat, of course, is that it’s difficult to know for sure if it’s really missing, or just out having a good time. So, it was at least half a year before the residents of Frenchtown Road in Trumbull, Connecticut came together and realized their common problem.

As the neighbors talked with each other about the loss of their pets, they also began to share stories of the strange noises they had been hearing at night. “I swear that it’s just like that sound they made in the movie Bringing Up Baby for the jaguar,” explains one resident, who asked that her name not be made public.

A few described having seen something that could have made the sounds, something that was the size of a large dog, but moved like a cat, with ears that stood up straight, with tufts on the end. Rumors began of strange breeding programs at the Beardsley Park Zoological Gardens, just a half-mile to the east of Frenchtown Road, which houses multiple species of wild cats. The purpose was said to be the creation a hybrid between the specimens in the American Lynx and the Amur Tiger, and perhaps other species as well.

Could one of the offspring of this program have gotten loose from the park, or been purposefully disposed of in attempt to cover up the unethical project? Could the creature survive? There is a large park on the northeastern side of Frenchtown Road, and Lake Forest offers an easy supply of water. Many previously wild animals, such as coyotes and foxes, now make suburban areas their homes.

At this point, the neighbors are unsure about what happened to their cats, whether they were eaten by the creature of Frenchtown Road, or were captured and made part of the breeding program that produced the hellcat that haunts their park in the first place. The staff at Beardsley Park Zoological Gardens have not issued a statement on the matter.

The Mysterious Petrification Of Plants On the Azores

Is it a coincidence that Russia has been goaded into miltary confrontation with the United States, just in time for the petrification virus to be used as a biological weapon?

Breaking news, and I appear to be the first person to report on it:

A rash of mysterious plant petrifications is taking place on isolated islands in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean – the purported location of the ancient civilization of Atlantis.

It seems strange, but apparently, plants on the chain of islands known as the Azores are turning into stone – and no one knows why, or at least, they aren’t telling.

This story comes from a very reputable source: The United States Secretary of Health and Human Services – Mike Leavitt. Leavitt reported just a few hours ago that he saw the petrified plants from his government airplane as he approached a well-guarded military base in the Azores.

“During our approach to land at Lajes Field, a base operated jointly by the United States and Portugal, you could see miles of stone hedges separating fields,” said Leavitt.

As everyone knows hedges consist of evergreen shrubs that respond to being pruned by growing in a compact form. It seems that, in the Azores, these plants are all of a sudden turning to stone. The only way this would be possible is if the plants’ genetics for taking in minerals from the soil suddenly ran out of control, converting the plants’ bodies into giant crystalline structures.

This kind of genetic engineering could result in a biological weapon of astounding power. Just imagine what would happen if an aggressor could drop packages of viral spores instead of bombs. There would be no damage to industrial infrastructure, but the target nation would be brought to a standstill as its agricultural production ground, literally, to a halt. All of its crops would become inedible as rocks.

It is no coincidence, then, that the new petrifying biological weapon was developed right next to a secretive military base, where the Pentagon could control it. The geographical isolation of the Azores would also create a quarantine, just in case the virus got out of hand.

The connection to Atlantis is also evident. Where else could such an organism, so powerful and yet so mysterious, have come from? Consider too how Atlantis came to be destroyed – it sank beneath the waves – perhaps under the weight of vegetation suddenly as heavy as stone.

Who would the target of this terrible new weapon of mass destruction be? Well, think about this: Which country is the breadbasket of Eurasia? It’s Russia, of course. Is it a coincidence that Russia has been goaded into miltary confrontation with the United States, just in time for the petrification virus to be used as a biological weapon?

Change I Can Believe In? What a Load of Bullshit.

At best, I was a half-hearted supporter of Obama’s. I was never overly enthused by him, though there were some periods where I thought I’d be able to call myself an Obama supporter with a measure of dignity. Over the last few weeks, that illusion has been shattered.

For all his talk and all his charm, Obama’s showing me now what I can expect in the future; more of the same old G.W.B. bullshit. As I look on his stances on the FISA amendments and now the faith-based bullshit, I can’t help but be left to reflect on our current situation.

Over the last 8 years, two presidential terms, George Bush has pulled some of the most unlawful actions in American history with impunity. Anything he wanted, he got on a golden platter. Anything illegal he did was turned a blind eye to by those sworn to uphold the rule of the law. I am now convinced that this attitude has forever ruined American politics and will lead us into a new age where corruption runs unchecked.

Obama now knows he’s got a 50-50 chance of getting the presidency and that Americans are pretty pissed at Republicans so the pressure’s pretty well off him now. And he’s been shown that the president can snub his nose at the law and Congress will roll over like the impotent, toothless tiger that it’s become.

And really, what choice do we, the people, have but to grin and bear it? There’s nothing that I know of which can force a reform to the corrupt politicains we now have in office. There’s no third party I can vote for because rarely, if ever, does a third party get on the ballet here in Oklahoma. Any time a third party gets media attention, it seems, it is laughed down until it crawls back under it’s rock.

The only thing I can think of, which I’ve mentioned before, is revoke the guarenteed spots on the ballots for Republicans and Democrats, but I know that won’t happen with the government the way it is now. I honestly want to know what can be done to change the way things are. I know, call my senator and voice my opinion, but even then the shit that shouldn’t be passed through congress is still being passed.

I thought I was going to vote this year, but I’m now seeing myself with the same options as when I thought Hillary Clinton was going to get the nomination; a choice between a Republican and a Republican Lite. Which one will shit on the Constitution less?

Obama, I thought you were the voice of change, I thought you were a voice of hope, but now I see what’s under the sheep’s clothing and I’m not impressed.

Will America ever return to the way it was before Bush got into office?
