Charlie Dent’s European Lobbyist Party

Charlie Dent may insult Europe with his words, but he's happy to have cash slapped in his hand at parties arranged for him by the agents of European power elites.

Congressman Charlie Dent likes to adopt an anti-Europe posture when he’s talking in front of right wing voters in the 15th district of Pennsylvania. He frequently warns that Democrats are trying to lead America into a “European-style Welfare state”, adding the comment about Europe in order to cast Democrats as somehow unAmerican in character.

It turns out that Charles Dent has some rather strong European political connections himself, though. Just last Thursday, Congressman Dent had a special fundraising event arranged for him at 201 C Street, the home of an influential lobbyist. That lobbyist, David D. O’Brien, is the head of his own firm, which represents several European interests, including the embassies of European nations and Wartsila Defense, a company owned by a Scandinavian technology company.

Representative Dent may insult Europe with his words, but he’s happy to have cash slapped in his hand at parties arranged for him by the agents of European power elites.

Republican Leads Calls For Afghanistan Pullout

The following voice, urging a pullout from Afghanistan next year, came from the U.S. Congress this week: “We’re wearing out our military. Madam Speaker, I hope the President will keep his word and have a timetable to get our troops out of Afghanistan.”

The voice was that of Walter Jones, a North Carolina Republican.

Michele Bachmann Complains About Socialism, Gets Government Dollars

Minnesota Republican Representative Michele Bachmann loves to appear on FOX News and complain about government spending and those awful liberals who live off the government teat. She’s gone so far as to declare that Americans should slit their wrists rather than allow the U.S. government to expand health care coverage so that fewer of us get sick.

You just knew there was another shoe, didn’t you? Yep, Michele Bachmann has been the recipient of more than a quarter of a million dollars in government subsidies over the past decade.

Whoopsie-doodle!

Sarah Palin Couldn’t Keep Her Business Running

Sarah Palin was the owner and operator of a marketing consultancy with the odd name of Rouge Cou. Rouge Cou is a rough translation into French of the American phrase redneck. Actually, the French translation should have been Cou Rouge. Sarah Palin couldn't even get that right, and the consulting business closed after it failed to get even one client.

The Republicans say that Sarah Palin should be elected Governor because she has executive experience – although it’s in very small communities. Sarah Palin has had experience running a business, however. She was the partial owner of a car wash in Anchorage, Alaska. Together with her husband, she held 40 percent of the car wash’s ownership.

And how did Sarah Palin do with the executive experience of running a small business? Lousy. She ran the business into the ground because she couldn’t be bothered to keep up with paperwork. Sarah Palin failed to file legally required reports or to pay the state licensing fees for the business, and so the car wash was shut down.

In addition to the car wash, Sarah Palin was the owner and operator of a marketing consultancy with the odd name of Rouge Cou. Rouge Cou is a rough translation into French of the American phrase redneck. Actually, the French translation should have been Cou Rouge. Sarah Palin couldn’t even get that right, and the consulting business closed after it failed to get even one client.

With this record of executive failure, why should Sarah Palin be given the position of Vice President under the elderly and most-likely-to-die-in-office President in American history, John McCain?

Aspiring Ayatollah Paul Broun Proclaims God Sovereign

A member of Congress is part of the theocratic conspiracy, and has announced his intention to make Christian religion sovereign over the government of the USA, and "completely in control of all things".

There is, underneath the surface of constitutional, secular law in the United States, a seething conspiracy to replace the current American government with a Christian theocracy.

The conspiracy has been announced by Republican Congressman Paul Broun from Georgia, who proclaimed on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives:

“I pray, Lord: You are sovereign and completely in control of all things, and I acknowledge Your awesome power and authority. All things are in Your control, and nothing is too small or too great to bring before You.”

A member of Congress is part of the theocratic conspiracy, and has announced his intention to make Christian religion sovereign over the government of the USA, and “completely in control of all things”. An aspiring American ayatollah, Paul Broun, may expect to be made part of the Grand Christian Rulership Council under which we will all be forced to submit to his “awesome power and authority”.

Oops. I meant to say God’s awesome power and authority. Paul Broun doesn’t represent God in Congress, does he?

Where are all the new Big Brother Obama Republican fans?

I haven't seen any Republicans or independent voters say that they were going to vote for John McCain, but now, because of the FISA Amendments Act, they're going to vote for Barack Obama. I haven't seen one single comment like that.

Something simple occurred to me this morning: I don’t see any evidence that Barack Obama has gained any voter support as a result of his decision to vote for the rotten FISA Amendments Act.

I’ve been online a lot, looking at what people have to say. I’ve seen a whole lot of Democrats saying that they’re withdrawing support from Barack Obama. I’ve seen some Democrats say that they’re angry, but that they can’t bring themselves to not vote for Obama. I’ve even seen a few ignorant voters say that they don’t understand what the big deal about the FISA Amendments Act is.

You know what I haven’t seen? I haven’t seen any Republicans or independent voters say that they were going to vote for John McCain, but now, because of the FISA Amendments Act, they’re going to vote for Barack Obama. I haven’t seen one single comment like that.

It seems that Obama has abandoned his principles, broken his promise, betrayed the Constitution, and lost a lot of Democratic supporters – all without making so-called “swing voters” like him any more than they did before.

Stupid move, Barack.

Flag Obsession Suggests Deep Insecurity

Republicans don't understand that what they're supposed to love are the principles upon which the American nation is founded, not the symbols that represent those principles.

Flag, flag, flag. All Republicans seem to talk about these days is flags. Which candidate loves the American flag more than the others? Which candidate has the most flag lapel pins on their jacket? Which presidential candidate has licked the flag out of adoration, and had flag pudding for lunch?

The flag is an obvious symbol for love of country.

So, the question is this: Why are Republicans so concerned that they people might not love America? Why do they think that America isn’t worthy of being loved?

I think it’s because they don’t understand what makes America worthy of love. They know that they’re supposed to love the flag, and the national anthem, and the Fourth of July and all that, but they don’t know why.

That’s because Republicans don’t understand that what they’re supposed to love are the principles upon which the American nation is founded, not the symbols that represent those principles.

Because the Republicans don’t understand the principles, they get obsessed with the symbols. Ironically, the Republicans attack the principles of the American nation in order to protect the symbols.

Republicans don’t love America. They just love the flag, and the national anthem, and the Fourth of July. There’s a big difference.

Condoleeza Rice Tells CIA On Torture: Go Do It!

Rice told the CIA, "This is your baby. Go do it!" What kind of sadist would refer to torture as a "baby"?

The moral character of the Republican Party is revealed in a shameful state by its consideration of Condoleeza Roce as a vice presidential candidate.

Condoleeza Rice was already infamous for deceiving Congress about the nature of the briefing given to George W. Bush just before the attacks of September 11, 2001. Now her name will be forever linked to torture.

At a meeting with Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney and Colin Powell that was approved by George W. Bush himself, Condoleeza Rice gave her strong endorsement to the use of torture by CIA agents against prisoners.

Rice told the CIA, “This is your baby. Go do it!”

What kind of sadist would refer to torture as a “baby”? The Condoleeza Rice kind of sadist.

If John McCain chooses Condoleeza Rice as his running mate, we’ll know that he is that same kind of sadist as well.
